Two-Star but Sonja makes it Three Visited: September 2000 |

The rooms needed some work. Our air-conditioning did not work for our entire visit but with such nice people it didn't matter. Great barbeque and Sonja was the best bartender. Be careful, this is a locals bar at night and I think they get a kick out of getting tourists drunk. |

My 21-year-old son and I stayed a week in December 2007. We had a dive/drive/breakfast package.
The rooms were very ample for our needs. Towels were changed once, and we discovered no top sheets on the bed. The bedroom was air conditioned, and was more than adequate.
The kitchen had plates, bowls, cups, glasses and silverware - but no pots or pans. The fridge was good, and froze our water bottles nicely for the next day's diving as we didn't use a cooler.
The dive shop on site worked with Buddies, and was again ample for our needs.
It was not fancy, but good enough for a father and son trip to dive, relax, and bond. We will return. |

Although not a 5-star hotel, it is away from the mainstream of things and quiet. The service was good and helpful. It was always clean but just needed some work done on the grounds.

We had a grand time at the hotel - don't miss bar-b-que night! There were no TV's or telephones, but, who needs 'em anyway. We saw the resident dog who barked to keep the resident donkeys from the property. Rose, the resident bird hung out in the trees during the day and her cage during the night. Antoine and Sonja were awesome hosts, but beware the 'dutch liquor' if you are doing shots!
This hotel is literally a short walk from several dive/snorkel sites. A little bit on the way out of town (but, hey, it is a small island), so a car rental would be beneficial to see downtown and other sites. No driving suprises in Bonaire other than donkeys, and they don't move very fast.
