Q: My family (2 adults, 3 1 year olds) are looking for an affordable spot to stay the nights of 11/13-11/16 (4 nights) and 11/25-11/28 (4 nights). We will be sailing on the between dates. Due to the triplets we would like to have easy walking to both beach and shopping. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks!
Dan

| A: I live and work in the BVI as a charter skipper so I know the places. Best bet for a good beach with nearby shopping is probably Cane Garden Bay. To be honest, there's not much shopping in Tortola and most of it is in Road Town, which is kind of a scuzzy place. The beaches are beautiful though. Cane Garden Bay has some apartment rentals right on the beach, good restuarants with live music, and some touristy type shops. I would do that for one part and then probably Long Bay (www.longbay.com) this is a nice resort, though not at the very high end. It is on a wonderful beach and also has a pool and several restaurants. A five minute taxi ride can take you to Soper's Hole where there is lots of shopping and more great restaurants. Enjoy!! |

A: HI Dan.
Okay, cheap, beach, shopping is not a combination you find on Tortola. Best bet is to find an affordable option near either beach or shopping and taxi the other. Follow this link.
Tortola Hotels by price
Read the descriptions and decide if price or locaiton is the biggest factor. |
