Already planning our return trip to this piece of paradise! Visited: July 2001 |

From the moment we arrived at Peter Island we were greeted with warm Caribbean charm and grace. The staff that catered to our every need throughout our one-week stay was truly wonderful. Although it's quite a journey to get to (plane to bus to boat) it's worth it!
The island offers luxury, amazing cuisine, and some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. It's a wonderful place if you like to avoid the cheesy tourist crowd and are looking for a romantic, secluded getaway. Deadman's Beach, with its coconut and palm trees, huts for shades and hammocks, was the best beach we've ever visited. We went to Peter Island this year for our honeymoon and are already planning a trip back.

This is the perfect place for a honeymoon or romantic getaway with plenty of one-on-one time. If you want tremendous nightlife and a variety of things to do at night, don't go. This place is for lovers only. You can vegetate on the beach or do a ton of water sports or activities if you wish. We took the meal plan and ate at the more formal restaurant every night. The food was mostly great. Dressing up a little bit scared me at first but it actually is romantic.
There is nightly entertainment that's just enough to keep you going while you enjoy each other. You'll meet some other couples and could socialize a bit if you wish, but it's basically about you two.
The service is at times remarkable and at others just average. You can tip but don't, it's built into your bar checks and your daily rate. It took us a day or two to not feel like we should be tipping more.
The Oceanview room we had was great and we thought it was better than the more expensive Garden Terrace rooms. The Beachfront rooms are even more expensive and look great, but trust us--the Oceanview rooms are great. So if you're looking to save a little money, it’s the way to go. Enjoy!

A wedding, a honeymoon, a little slice of Heaven. Visited: April 2001 |

My husband and I got married with seven of our closest friends and family on Peter Island in early April 2001 and it was a wonderful experience.
Roz and the staff were perfect. They were concerned about the things we were concerned about and relaxed about the things we were relaxed about. The result was a wedding with the casual elegance we had always dreamed of and a honeymoon that we will never forget.
We have recommended Peter Island to everyone we know and can’t wait to go back. |

The Perfect Honeymoon! Visited: October 2000 |

There is one word to describe this resort. POSH! We loved everything about it. The Beach Front rooms were spectacular and the food was amazing! The beach was so well manicured that the rocks had been removed from the ground in the swimming area. There was no inconvenience too great for their guests. We ate, swam, slept, read, danced, worked out, and ate some more! This was truly our "Fantasy Island"! We plan to return for our one year anniversary. |

One of the greatest places to stay in the Caribbean Visited: August 2000 |

This was our third trip to the island and we plan on returning. We really enjoyed the staff, and the scenery spoke for itself. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Their individual personalities will stay with us for a very long time.
The only draw back was that during this stay a family arrived that had small children that the parents didn't bother trying to control. The staff did everything possible but failed to have the parents control their kids. These children were clearly under the age of 8. It put a damper on our evenings and forced us to plan around them, to avoid the noise and their behavior.
Other children were present and you never knew that they were here. I blame the parents since they thought it was cute and didn't seem to care that their children were a nuisance. The Peter Island management should be more aware of this in the future and I believe that most people complained. I realize that they can't be responsible for this islolated incident as the parents should have controlled their kids.
We will return back to the island, hopefully the same family won't. This was not a place for children. We have three and I wouldn't dream of bringing them here.

A perfect honeymoon! Visited: December 1969 |

We couldn't have chosen a better place for our honeymoon! There were several times during our stay when we felt like we were the only people on the island!
The food was excellent and the facilities were extensive and in great shape. We enjoyed the day trips to St. Thomas and The Baths at Virgin Gorda as well. The staff were there to meet our every need and very friendly in doing so.
I would highly recommend Peter Island Resort to anyone, not just honeymooners. A truly great place with a super staff.

Prepare to Know Thyself Visited: December 1969 |

We stayed 5 nights here for our honeymoon. It was an okay place for a honeymoon but everyone else here was on their honeymoon too. Nothing like seeing 10 other white, yuppie couples on their honeymoons to put you in touch with exactly how unoriginal you are. No one really talked to other guests which was fine. Not a social place.
Not much to do on Peter Island except eat (good food), sit on the beach, and read. No TV, newspapers, or internet connections around. Also, there were very few guests (about 30 when we were here) so the place really felt uninhabited.
There were a lot of staff, but I don't know what they did all day. If anyone suggests shopping in Tortola, don't do it. Tortola had about 8 shops and they all pretty much sold the same things. I don't think we would go back to Peter Island.

Paradise on earth!!!! Visited: December 1969 |

We celebrated our one-year wedding anniversary at Peter Island and consider it to be the best vacation of our lives! We've been to several resorts in the Caribbean, but none as spectacular as this one.
The service was exceptional, provided by people who were more like friends than staff. They went out of their way to accommodate our every need and pamper us.
As for the food, it was scrumptuous! Every morsel was mouth-watering and it seemed that each meal was better than the last. We never tired of eating at the resort because the menu was extensive and offered many unique daily specials.
You'd be hard pressed to find a more breathtaking location. Panoramic views abound on Peter Island, along with your choice of three pristine beaches or a very scenic swimming pool for total relaxation.
This is a "must go" vacation for anyone who loves the Caribbean and wants to experience luxury at an affordable price. Peter Island truly is a paradise on earth!
