Description:

The elegance of the bygone Caribbean comes to life at lovely Jacaranda! Situated within exclusive gated Dolphin Estate near Tortola's Soper's Hole anchorage, this gracious four-bedroom home is set within beautiful landscaping graced with large shade trees and serpentine garden paths threading through the green tropical flora.

Jacaranda's main level will take your breath away. As you enter the spacious Great Room, wide french doors open out to the covered, breezy verandahs on the southern side of the villa; cushioned Adirondack chairs, comfy chaises, a dining table and hammock make this relaxing area the heart of Jacaranda. One side of this covered patio overlooks stunning long-distance ocean views of Sir Francis Drake Channel, St. John and outlying islands framed by the villa's gingerbread trim, and on the other side, the swimming pool beckons.

The kitchen is wonderfully equipped with excellent quality cookware and culinary utensils, and romantic alfresco dining is divine on the verandah, or beyond in the garden alcove set with an umbrellaed table and gas grill.

A tiled staircase leads to Jacaranda's lower level and to three air-conditioned bedroom suites. Each suite is handsomely decorated with an artistic mix of pleasing styles, with added punches of Caribbean color in fabrics, throw rugs and island artwork. French doors open out from each suite to a covered verandah bordering the south side of the villa, a cool spot set with cushioned chairs, just perfect for a quiet read, cocktail or conversation. Just below via exterior steps is Jacaranda's fourth air-conditioned bedroom/bath suite, a smaller, very private getaway with an exotic alfresco shower and a private patio just outside.

This villa has been lovingly renovated and is now showcased within some of the most beautiful landscaping on the island, enhanced by native stone walkways, mature shade trees and a wide variety of manicured tropical plants and flowers. Jacaranda offers a glimpse into the Caribbean of years past while offering pristine and stylish interiors with all modern amenities...five stars.

3 bedrooms + the Great Room have cable TV with a DVD/CD player + VCR (lower 4th bedroom has cable TV and CD player only); villa has radio, books, games, movie + music collections, A/C in all bedrooms, DSL line for your laptop, answering machine, safes for valuables in each BR, mini-fridge + coffeemaker in lower BR, hammock, gas grill, dishwasher, washer + dryer for guests' moderate use. Your first night's simple arrival dinner (cold plate with salad, bread, fruit, wine, beer, water + soft drinks) are included in your rental rate. Clarence, Tortola's premier island guide, will also take Jacaranda's guests on a brief orientation tour of Tortola's West End at their convenience.

Auralee, Jacaranda's housekeeper, is also a talented cook. She is available at an extra charge plus your groceries to cook you dinner on Sunday and Tuesday evenings...please inquire for her rates.
