Loblolly boasts a great location and great accommodations...just great! Visited: May 2004 Posted by therealvertical My wife and I recently (May 2004) enjoyed a week in Virgin Gorda, staying at the Loblolly Villa with six other friends, making eight total. I'll try to cover all the essentials here: Location - Great! Mahoe Bay was a beautiful beach, with *fantastic* sunsets (sets right in front of the villa!), and was very private. The snorkeling on Mahoe Bay was phenomenal, as well. You'll definitely need a car, though. Loblolly (along with all other Mahoe Bay villas) was on a side dirt road, about five minutes from Spanish Town. You'll definitely need a car. Amenities - Everything we needed was here, from hair dryers to beach towels and a DVD player and VCR (not that we watched any TV, but it's there if you want it). There were two fridges upstairs, and one smaller one downstairs by the pool (and the pool was great!). Rafts for the pool were also here. All of the master bedrooms had AC as well, and most had TV/VCR combos and alarm clocks. The outdoor showers (outdoor, but private, not to worry) were really quite enjoyable. There was also a hammock, ping pong, and a grill... this place had it all! Staff - The company in charge of the services for the Villa was very pleasant, and very responsive. The one issue we did have (a toilet not flushing ... not a huge problem considering there were five other bathrooms!) was responded to within minutes (seriously!). All in all, Loblolly was well appointed, clean, and the staff was friendly and responsive (and non-intrusive). Also, the beach, view, and location on Virgin Gorda were top-notch.
