We stayed at this wonderful guest house while island hopping the British Virgin Islands. The house was great, the food was fantastic.
This was a small guest house, but it was definitely a "do not miss". The water was crystal clear, and you can take a stroll down the long beach anytime!
Thanks again! We loved it! |

This was a great laid-back Jimmy Buffett kind of place to crash. Visited: April 2002 |

I spent two nights at the Beef Island Guesthouse at the end of an island-hopping jaunt through the Windward Islands. The Guesthouse was a perfect place to laze around and relax before having to return to the reality of home.
You could pull up a chaise lounge, sit under the palm trees on the beach with a couple bottles of Red Stripe, and enjoy.
The rooms were spacious, clean, perfectly priced and quite a value on an expensive island. I've traveled to 57 islands in the West Indies now, and have to rate this place quite highly. It was not a yuppie sort of hang out. There were no fancy ammenities - it was just a great place to crash.
Try the swordfish and several beers at de Loose Mongoose restaurant next door. Be aware that the restaurant isn't open on Monday nights, but the CyberCafe up the beach was a suitable alternative with constant Jimmy Buffett music playing. The bottom line - you can't go wrong staying at the Beef Island Guest House. |

This artist community guest house is right on the beach at Trellis Bay. You would never find it unless you were looking.
It is right at Beef Island airport, but far enough away that it is no bother. They have a great beach bar. There are artist shops right down the beach, maybe 100 yards total. They also have nice hammocks.
There is also a cyber cafe down the beach. It is good fun. |

I have been to the British Virgin Islands (BVIs) twice and both times spent several days at this great little hotel. The staff (both at the guesthouse and bar) are exceptional and always make us feel welcome.
Sunday nights are when the Loose Mongoose really shows its stuff with fun music and a great mix of locals and tourists from around the world.
If you are chartering in the BVIs, I would highly recommend staying here for a couple of days on either end. The accommodations are all that you need and the location near the airport is very convenient. |
