We loved it! Visited: April 2004 |

Our visit was part of our honeymoon trip. At first we were a little disappointed that it wasn't right on the beach, but across the street - but that didn't last long!
We stayed four nights in the Junior Executive suite (#110) and one night in the honeymoon suite. Both rooms were great, but we liked the junior suite better because it had a full kitchen and living room.
The staff was great and the rooms were clean. I also peeked at the regular room style and it was very nice. The pool was broken, but we didn't miss it at all. We liked that you could change out your beach towels whenever you wanted to. We also liked that they had foot baths so you didn't have to track sand in your room.
Don't plan to check in before 2:00! Quito's was a cool place and they rocked pretty late most nights. We would stay here again if we go back to Tortola! Truly - a great place! |

It's perfect! Visited: November 2003 |

This place is absolutely awesome for a couple, or even for a bunch of friends to stay. It's in the best location in Cane Garden Bay, right at the end of almost everything else on the beach.
The Gazebo really makes this place, though. With the awesome live music six nights a week from Quito himself, and an always super friendly staff, this place can make a short vacation totally feel like longer. |

It's the real thing in the BVI. Visited: October 2002 |

This is a relatively modest place right on the beach of the famous Cane Garden Bay on Tortola. It's clean, affordable, and extremely friendly! The family who owns it and the folks who work there always make you feel welcome. Quito, a great local reggae performer, is part of the family ownership. You can hear him perform in the adjoining Gazebo several nights a week. This place is the real thing! |

Rustic beach fun. Visited: April 2001 |

If you are looking for fancy and posh this is not the place for you. I can best describe it as rustic, with clean rooms, very thin walls and a friendly staff. If being across the street from a beautiful, but busy beach excites you, then you are at the right place. My wife and two teenage sons stayed a Saturday night and enjoyed the lively beach atmosphere. At least fifty boats were floating in the bay; some were blasting music and everyone was having fun. At night, Quitos band started playing great tunes at the gazebo around 10pm until after 1:30 in the morning. As we went to bed around midnight we could hear the music through the walls, but just turn up the air conditioning if it bugs you. We would definitely return for a few days. It is nice to experience the lively beach atmosphere, but it could get old after a few days if you are in search of seclusion. |

Beach + sun + music = a lot of fun! Visited: November 2000 |

Ole Works Inn gets 4 stars for the vacation we had—not luxurious, but laid back and informal. We were accepted like locals the moment we checked into the place! Quito is great, and his music is awesome!
Our days were filled with island exploring, snorkeling, boat rides, yachting and our nights were spent walking up and down Cane Garden Bay stopping at each little bar along the way. We also went over to Bombas Shack one night, which was lots of fun, too!
The hotel is in great place for the type of vacation I just described. We stayed in the Junior Suite, which had a nice porch, a living area, kitchen and two double beds for $140 per night. Not bad for the BVI. The rooms were very simple, but very sufficient for the small amount of time we spent inside.
The one drawback for some would be the fact that you have to cross a small street to get to the beach. It really wasn't a problem at all, but I understand how good it feels to walk off your porch and straight onto sand.
I would highly recommend Ole Works Inn if you are looking for simple, nice accommodations on a great active beach. It reminded me a little of Negril, but with fewer people and the nicest locals ever!

Great honeymoon suite! Visited: December 1969 |

I highly recommend the Honeymoon Suite. The room includes a swing built for two inside the suite (hanging from chains fastened to heavy ceiling rafters), a selection of beverages (extra charge), a mini-fridge, air-conditioning, a ceiling fan, bathroom with shower, and a balcony overlooking the bay and Quito's Gazebo (plenty of live music for the newlywed couple to enjoy from the suite).
This suite is also extremely private; it's separated from the main Inn structure, connected to the main building only by a covered, outdoor walkway. The entire Inn is extremely convenient to all the night life on Cane Garden Bay.
Other rooms are average and the walls are a bit thin. Kitchenettes would be nice additions to these rooms. |
