I consider this my second home. Visited: March 2006

The staff at this hotel is all in the family. I have spent many vacations here, and have gotten to know them.

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time with the Rhymer family. However, March is wonderful also as by then I am tired of winter in Indiana.

See you soon with friends and wives!

It is like Heaven - with boats, beaches and bars. Visited: May 2004

We have been here three of the four times we have been in the VIs, and will return this year (after sailing). It's right on the beach, with a great porch for watching the tourists boiling in oil (thanks JB).

The rooms are unpretentious, have kitchens and a little lanai, and air conditioning if you need it. The tire swing is right down the beach and Quito Rhymer is at the Gazebo several times a week playing to the yachties and the locals (used to play with Ziggy Marley).

The bay is often filled with charter boats of all description and there is a general festive atmosphere. The lady at the desk knows your name (especially if you're a repeat guest). They'll switch your room to the end toward the street when the BVI Music Festival is on (in May), because it makes the shutters rattle.

Get some sugar cane rum at Callwood's distillery (Arundel), and a few Pain Killers won't hurt either. Things'll get better (that's what they say) as soon as you sail into Cane Garden Bay!

For this first time visitor.... Cane Garden Bay was just right! Visited: April 2004

While searching on the internet, I came across this hotel. The price seemed very reasonable and since I didn't want to stay in Road Town, it was just right. The beach was absolutely beautiful and the water was crystal clear. It felt like we were in a pool, so if you have young children, you'll love it!

Since my family and I had a late evening flight, the staff offered to hold our bags in their office while we went to Virgin Gorda for the day.

The Baths on Virgin Gorda was a must see... you won't be disappointed. And if you like snorkeling, then you will love it! Just remember to bring a pair of sport beach sandals to walk down the trail and then to make your way through the boulders and walkways to get down to Devil's Bay. It was well worth the extra 15-minute walk!

The rooms were clean and, for basic accommodations, it was perfect. I will definitely stay here again... I'm already looking forward to it!

This is a fantastic place to stay... perfect! Visited: April 2004

The price is right, the beach is beautiful, and you can explore the whole island by car from this lovely location. And, the woman at the front desk is a wonderful person!

Don't miss the Baths on Virgin Gorda! Also, be sure to buy a rum coconut from the guy on the beach! The only warning, this is not for people who want quiet and lights out at 10:00 pm. There is lots to do at night and it is very lively!

When I go back to Tortola, I will definitely stay here again.

Cane Garden Bay offers basic accommodations at a fantastic price. They provide clean simple rooms, and the staff is pleasant and friendly and willing to go out of their way to make your stay an enjoyable one.

Nestled in the beautiful Cane Garden Bay, this place has "all you need" to enjoy paradise on a budget. Rooms have AC, basic cable, mini kitchenette with fridge, and a private balcony. There is a large public balcony overlooking the beach with tables, chairs, and lounge chairs for catching some sun.

Step out of the hotel right onto the beach and take a swim in the crystal clear water. Nothing beats getting up with the sun and having breakfast in their open air restaurant right on the beach, (But you'll have to share your bacon with the island kitties that come to wish you a good morning!). The restaurant also has a bar for those long days soaking up sun. All of this is within walking distance of four or five other restaurants/bars, all open air style.

This probably sounds like an ad, but my wife and I fell in love with this place when my parents introduced us to the place in 2002. Since then, we have not even considered staying anywhere else.

It is good for families or couples. Another reviewer is right however, with two other nightlife spots within 25 feet on either side of the hotel, the steel bands and local entertainment can play on towards midnight, but it seems to fit in with the atmosphere and did not bother us one bit. The staff can help you arrange car rentals, taxis and dinner reservations at places away from the beach and make you feel like part of the family.

This place is highly recommended if you are looking for a simple, inexpensive place to stay, but not for those looking for a five-star resort with pool, spa, and the like.

The people here are very nice, also.

This is one of life's little secrets!

Basic accommodations on a five star beach! Visited: January 2003

Rhymer's Cane Garden Beach Hotel is simple, clean, and located right on the beach overlooking a harbor dotted with sailboats.

They have perfect weather every day. There is also plenty of good food, music and local color all a short walk along the beach.

Beautiful location and reasonable accommodations. Visited: August 2001

My boyfriend and I were searching the Internet for a comfortable and reasonable place to stay. We were happy with our choice of staying at Rymer's Cane Garden Bay Beach Hotel. There are lots of bars and restaurants and the hotel is on the beach where there are water sports available.

The rooms are clean and the kitchenettes are equipped. You can always ask someone if you need anything; the staff is helpful. NB Cane Garden is 45-minutes from the airport and this costs US$36. Most of the activity is in Road Town, but to relax near the beach and enjoy the culture we definitely recommend Cane Garden Bay.

Cane Garden Bay provide good, basic accommodations. Visited: February 2001

It was pretty much what I expected. It had everything I needed - a bed and a phone. There was no reason to dump a bunch of money into a hotel room, when you're there to see the beaches and have fun outside!

My experience in Tortola was one of the best of my life, and part of it was because of my choice to stay in Cane Garden Bay. Rhymer's was cozy, clean, and bare bones accommodations, but it was perfect. I would stay here again.

The location doesn't get any better! Visited: March 2000

Cane Garden Bay is a fantastic location. It is beautiful and active, with a half dozen bars and restaurants within stumbling distance of each other. The Cane Garden Bay Hotel, on the other hand, is...well, it has a great location and price. But that is truly all I can say that is positive.

For those who care more about price and location than quality of accommodations, then I highly recommend this hotel. If you are the least bit squeamish about things like stained shower stalls, sinks, and carpeting, then you will not likely be comfortable here.

Keep your expectations low, and you won't be disappointed! The owners of this place seem determined not to sink a dime into upgrades and repairs. But if they did, then they would probably raise their rates.

The only place to stay to really experience Tortola Visited: November 1999

Although Rhymer's is definitely a "no frills" establishment, it is an excellent deal for the price. Great location, great nearby food & entertainment, great beach. Perfect for people who want to enjoy the island and not just the hotel room. If you go to Tortola at all, go during the Full Moon and you're guaranteed to have a blast!

We have been coming back since 1994 and haven't been anywhere else on vacation, since we found it. We have brought many friends with us and they have been coming back with us. The staff is great and honest. We are counting the days. Food is great, and the beach is beautiful. The restaurants along the beach are great, Stanley' Myetts Sandman is great and a taxi driver to. Elm Suites have cold beer for two dollars a can...fun, fun, fun!
