Saba Wind, Virgin Gorda, BVI traveler review
It was delightful! Visited: May 2008 |

Saba Wind provided glorious views - none of the pics on any of the web sites we found did this place justice.
They had great breezes, excellent maid service, and the furniture appeared new. The kitchen was well stocked, and everything worked.
The only reason for one less than five stars was the noise from the resort. They usually shut it down by 10 pm, though. It really wasn't a problem, as long as you get in the mood ahead of time and enjoy their music rather than your own.
We'll be going back - we hope! |

Boulder Crest, Virgin Gorda, BVI traveler review
It is outstanding! Visited: April 2008 |

This is one of the most stunning villas my wife and I have ever stayed in - and we will almost certainly be back. The views are amazing, and the amenities in the villa are superb. As a previous reviewer mentioned, there are trees around the property - but this just adds to the privacy (which is one of the key features of Boulder Crest).
There is a lovely beach just below the villa ( a five-minute walk or two- minute drive) where we saw only two other people the whole time we were here. We spent several days there just snorkeling off of that beach. One of the added bonuses is Boulder Crest has a huge chest of snorkel gear available, along with some beach chairs.
The maid service was impeccable, and the house was exceptionally clean every time they visited.
We can't wait to go back. Boulder Crest is great! |

Sea's Song Villa, Virgin Gorda, BVI traveler review
We were at home in Paradise at Sea's Song Villa. Visited: June 2007 |

Our trip to Virgin Gorda was in celebration of ten years of marriage, and ended up a second honeymoon that surpassed the first.
Yes, it had a bit to do with being kids-free for ten days, but it had more to do with our beautiful, tranquil villa. This incredible place felt like a true home away from home.
The decor was authentically Caribbean, and the amenities provided high-end comfort. We enjoyed waking up to waves breaking on the boulders below and the sweetly scented breeze. We could stretch and sit up in the extremely comfortable master bed and gaze out at sailboats dotting the sea.
Mornings were spent with a latte on the large veranda, a brisk walk up the mountainside, and a refreshing dip in the pool.
Afternoons were whiled away exploring the island, taking a quick stroll down the path to Long Bay Beach for a swim, snorkel, and shelling, or simply relaxing at "home", enjoying the lush and lovely gardens, the view, the pool.
For nights in, you'll find a gourmet-appointed kitchen for whipping up simple or sophisticated fare, and a well-rounded collection of movies, books and music.
With plenty to do on the island, we spent many afternoons exploring, and several evenings dining out. But whatever time of day, it was always with a grateful sigh of relief that we returned to Sea's Song Villa, our peaceful piece of paradise. |

Olde Yard Village, Virgin Gorda, BVI traveler review
This is the best value on Virgin Gorda. Visited: January 2008 |

Olde Yard Village is in a great location. It is clean, with nicely furnished rooms that have AC.
The food is great, and the kids loved the pool and the tennis courts. We encountered nice people, and enjoyed good service.
It has to be the best value on Virgin Gorda. |

Coconut Grove, Virgin Gorda, BVI traveler review
It was spectacular. Visited: July 2007 |

Our family of five stayed at Coconut Grove for the first week of July 2007. We had only the upstairs (three bedrooms), and had more than enough space to stretch out and relax.
This is a beautiful villa! Many of the others in Leverick Bay are showing their age, but Coconut Grove is in excellent condition. The large great room has spectacular views and a wonderful, ever-present, cross breeze.
My kids loved the immense wrap-around porch with the pool table and hammock. The pool is big and well maintained. The bedrooms all have their own large bathrooms and A/C. The furnishings are new and in great condition, and the whole house has a light and airy feel.
Also, the landscaping is lush and colorful and gives good privacy without impacting the views. It's a convenient walk down to the marina with a little convenience store for basic groceries.
I would highly recommend this villa without hesitation. |

This was the perfect place Visited: June 2007 |

We stayed at Biras Creek eight years ago for the first time. We liked it very much. However, at that time, the rooms were run down and we decided not to come back.
In between, we looked for the perfect place to relax and rewind (Peter Island, Old Bahama Bay, Curtain Bluff, etc.).
We heard about the change of management. So, we gave them a new chance. We hoped they hadn't changed the good things we liked so much (no loud families, no misbehaving yacht people, like in Peter Island - and we liked especially the food).
What we got was the perfect getaway we were looking for.
They left the good things as they were (gorgeous staff, friendly and helpful, the food even better than before) and improved the worse ones, like the rooms.
After ten days, we felt both we found our perfect little paradise. We look forward to return next year. |

Christa Villa, Virgin Gorda, BVI traveler review
Christa Villa is in a beautiful setting. Visited: June 2007 |

The house and pool were great! The villa was clean, updated, well furnished and comfortable. The accommodation also included beach towels, dishes, and cookware, etc.
The air conditioning worked hard due to humidity. It needed some TLC. Each individual bedroom's A/C circuit breaker tripped several times, but overall, they operated acceptably. There was A/C is in the bedrooms only. The main house room was open air and very breezy. The A/C in the bedroom was appreciated at night (for sleeping!).
The island was beautiful. However, there were limited grocery stores and a limited selection of fresh groceries available. Plus, in the off season (June) prices, in general, were very high. If you plan to 'eat home' a few nights during your stay, bring as much food to cook as you can carry - or plan to go off island to purchase fresh food.
The beaches were beautiful, as was the scenery. There was good sand and good sun, and the temperature was in the high 80s.
Driving on the left side of the road with a right driver side vehicle, was easy enough to master. However, the main single road on the island was very hilly and rough.
I would return - a bit more prepared, though! I do recommend Christa Villa. |

This is the perfect place to stay for your dream BVI trip! Visited: April 2007 |

We decided to divide our trip into a four-night stay here, and a three-night stay on Tortolla. The service, amenities, room, and food were all a top "10".
We stayed in late April, and had rainy days and sunny ones. A four-night stay meant Biras came and get us at no extra charge. This helped because we needed to bring enough money to account for taxis, ferries, etc. Think $500 to $600.
Our rates were lower since it was off season, and we still enjoyed spectacular sevice and great food. Items like fresh towels for the beach, picnic lunches or fresh cookies delivered to our room made us feel like we were in our own Caribbean estate.
The private beach was not crowded, and Hobie cats and lasers were free to take out. We had bikes to carry us down flower-filled paths, and a pool which overlooked the Atlantic Ocean to swim in. Also, on the harborfront were free Boston Whalers to take to snorkel or just ride around in.
We also walked to Bitter End Yacht Club, which was 15 minutes away. If you go, Mike or Chelsea will personally greet you upon arrival. Monique, Arlene or Captain Ernest will provide outstanding service, while Nina may take beautiful care of your room.
Our room was on the ocean. We enjoyed hearing the waves lap at about 15 feet from the room, and the stars shone at night. Our bath robes with fresh flowers awaited us, and we ordered a bottle of white wine for the room. We also had a great outdoor shower, and a confortable and luxurious bed.
The cocktail party on Monday night allowed us to meet our fellow guests and make new friends.
You need to save your pennies to come here. However, when you take in consideration all the meals, watersports, divine service, quiet beach, and no small screaming children combined with a gorgeous tropical setting; (whew) are included, you will realize (like me!) that you made the right choice. Here, you will truly know what it is like to be treated like a real Caribbean princess. |

Boulder Crest, Virgin Gorda, BVI traveler review
Boulder Crest is delightful. Visited: March 2006 |

This was a beautiful home in spotless condition. It had a very unique layout - U shaped. At the bottom was the main room which was spacious. Off of it was the deck and pool area with some good shaded areas. Above that was the master on the left side, and the two other bedrooms on the right.
There was also a three-minute walk down path to a nice beach where we never saw another person all week.
The only negative that kept my rating to four stars: the views from the main room were minimal. If you're looking for sweeping ocean views, you won't like it. |

It was paradise. Visited: December 2005 |

This little bit of paradise was all we had dreamed of! The snorkeling so close to the house was incredible, and the close proximity to multiple beaches was a bonus.
The accommodation was very comfortable for eight of us, and was complete with everything we needed. Also, the view was breathtaking.
We will certainly be returning to Rambutan Villa! |

We had the pleasure of staying at Rambutan Villa last year. The house was airy and comfortable, and beautifully decorated and designed. The view was spectacular!
We enjoyed our stay immensely. The owner and property manager were a pleasure to deal with. We highly recommend a stay at Rambutan Villa. |

Wow! Visited: June 2006 |

We stayed here in June 2006, right after our children finished school. We have a five- and seven-year old.
Rambutan Villa was beyond our expectations. The pictures cannot capture the feeling of of walking into this villa with its beautiful architecture and seaside location. The owners have made it a point to cater to everyone - the children had their amenities, and we did, too.
Irma, with guest services, was a gem and went above and beyond to make us feel confortable and welcome. We plan to return again and again! |

This resort is in desparate need of repair. Also, some staff needs to be replaced (along with the manager who seems to have a large ego and terrible personality).
The manager seems to have no idea how run a successful business and treat patrons with respect - whether it is at the beginning of the season or the end of the season.
The watersports guy needs to take up another type of business, as this man seemed to have the personality of a fly and has no concerns regarding customer appreciation.
The view was great from our suite, and I think that is what we paid for. All in all, I give this place a two-star rating
I would revisit the BVIs for sure, but I would not stay at this resort. |

My wife and I stayed in one of the many villas located on property. What a terrific experience.
The staff was friendly and accommodating to our needs. Warm sun and Radio Margaritaville from the WiFi. How can you beat that?
Bring a MP3/DVD with white noise to drown out the 4:00 am roosters! Rent a vehicle, too! The hills are killer. It was a nice drive to Spanishtown and The Baths.
Also, the folks at Dive BVI are the best. Dive the Coral Garden and Island Point. Be sure to see the Moko Jumbies at the Friday Night BBQ. |

Saba Wind, Virgin Gorda, BVI traveler review
It was a very nice villa with plenty of space, a good view, and a fun atmosphere. Visited: July 2006 |

We had a party of six -- two grandparents, two parents, and two teenagers. We could gather all six together in several places, inside or out. Each individual had no problem getting her own space when that was desired. Everything worked.
The sliding glass doors needed a little maintenance, but that was all we noticied. The staff was good and attentive. The villa location on a hill provided dramatic views of nearly all of the North Sound - and of the resort and beach directly below.
Also, maid service was unobtrusive, but excellent. The villa pool was used extensively.
Many of the island's attractions were on the south end of the island, while the villa was in the northern part. This resulted in numerous rental car trips up and down the "main highway". The road was somewhat challenging, and one must drive on the left, which added to the challenge.
In summary, we had fun! |

We were so delighted with the villa, the staff, facilities and island. We all enjoyed the pool and the amazing sunrises each morning. I came home with over 300 pictures - mostly taken right from our villa.
I want to say "thank you" to all the staff at WheretoStay.com, you made our vacation become reality. Thank you, Shawna, for that special touch. We will return! |

Sorry, but this place was a total disappointment. It was very expensive, and the food was just okay. The service was the worst.
If you're not into sailing, there is nothing to do here. It was a long walk to the pool. Also, there was no AC. However, the snorkeling was nice.
We are really not hard to please, but as expensive as this was, I suggest you go to Little Dix Bay. It was ten times nicer!
