The most relaxing vacation ever.Visited: March 2002

I found Cooper Island Beach Club on a day sail from Tortola several years ago. I have always stayed on Tortola BVI. But no more. Cooper Island Beach Club is the place for me. They provide great food, wonderful staff, a beautiful beach and the rooms have everything you need, not fancy but very comfortable. I have been here twice and I am looking forward to returning again after Christmas in 2003.

I just got back from the Cooper Island Beach Club and had the most relaxing vacation with my husband and two older children. No phone, no tv, no a/c, just a lovely beach, lapping waves and palm trees. The rooms (all 11) are clean, bright, cheerful and adequately furnished and have a small kitchenette if you wish to bring any of your own food. It is handy for making your own coffee in the morning. Views from all of the rooms are exquisite. We purchased their package that included all meals and we ate like kings in the restaurant without ever getting out our wallet. The drinks, however, are not included.
Snorkeling is very good right from their beach and the dive shop next door has daily trips to other locations. Other activities include kayaking, walking, swimming and reading. The club occasionally puts a trip together to another island for a minimal fee; we took a trip to the Baths for the day for $10 each. The staff is excellent—friendly, well informed, pleasant, helpful and many of them have been working there a number of years. I was very impressed.
Negatives: The club rents moorings to charter boats, which can number up to 30 at a time. Some of these groups are very noisy at night either in the restaurant, bar or partying on their own boats. I had to use my earplugs to get to sleep more than once. It is often hard to get a beach chair to sit in because the yachtsmen come ashore to picnic and there is occasionally a Windjammer boat that comes in for the day with all of their passengers. I'd still go back anytime—we loved it.

I was here a day before the first hurricane of the year blew through. The staff were friendly and helpful. Andrea, the bartender from the United Kingdom, made "Painkillers extraordinare!" This place is popular with "yachties," which is usually a good sign. They always seem to know where the best spots are. Cooper Island Beach Club makes you feel like you’re in a pastel gingerbread land.

We've traveled the Caribbean for years and absolutely love Cooper Island the most! The place is not only gorgeous, but the staff treats us like royalty! And the food is wonderful. We found this island last year and are returning in a few weeks. Can't wait!
