My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Ritz for four nights, and it was fabulous!
The service was outstanding. The staff was friendly and extremely accommodating. We stayed on the beach side in one of the residences, and the room was spacious.
I highly recommend staying here to anyone! |

We received perfect service, but the hotel, overall, yearned for perfection. Visited: February 2006 |

We had the opportunity to stay here with an employee award incentive trip last week, practically before the resort was even opened to the public.
Our group of 1,100+ filled the hotel to capacity (plus most of another hotel), so this was a trial and error for the Ritz for such a large group.
The hotel was brand new and still under construction - which was understandable. But the construction noise and equipment really detracted from a gorgeous location.
The room had no view of the ocean at all (it didn't claim to, but for the Ritz I'd expect top-notch views from every room). We overlooked a parking lot and the golf course renovation. Most of the rooms at this Ritz were across the street from the beach - so most will not have any water view of any kind. Also, it was quite a hike to the pool and beach.
The room itself was neat and clean, yet small in comparison to rooms of resorts of this caliber. The ocean, pool areas and restaurants were top-of-the-line. The service was the best I've ever had. You name it, we got it - no matter how odd the request.
The La Prairie Silver Rain Spa - wow! After visiting Grand Wailea on Maui, I was sure I'd never find a better spa - but I did. The spa was incredibly relaxing - I was transformed into another world. The whirlpool and sauna was first, then relaxation in robes (unisex) with the best drinks and snacks. The treatment itself was the best I've ever had.
Of course, as with any Ritz, we expected to pay over-inflated prices for everything, and the Ritz GC was no exception. This is not the place to go if you are on a budget of any kind. Dinners for two with drinks and dessert easily ran $200-$300, breakfast for two was an easy $75. Room service for breakfast was even more. Drinks on the beach- $10-$18 - ouch!
A casual lunch on the beach was actaully reasonable, around $20 per person, with no beverage. Beach attendants were incredible - with water and moisturizer spritzes, sunglass cleaning and free drink and food samples all day long. I could get used to that!
Overall, I think the resort will flourish once the construction ends and the gardens grow. Nothing was in bloom yet, and the palm trees were babies.
My only concerns were these: there were no clocks in the room - they did not provide them; room service forgot to bring my order one morning which was an inconvenience (odd for such higly trained staff); and the prices were very over-inflated.
I would actually not choose to stay here again if I had to pay for it on my own. |

The Ritz-Carlton was very crowded. The services weren't good, either. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. |
