This is a true island get-a-way, and not a dive. Visited: September 2006 |

If you want to relax in a cottage environment on a very beautifully kept beach with tiled floors to keep the sand away, this is the place.
Imagine stepping out of your door onto the beach! There is plenty of great food, a nice bar, entertainment, a new pool, and watersports. Also, no one wakes you while sunning to braid your hair or hassle you to buy a t-shirt! All the people here are nice.
I have come here five times. The second time I came, they remembered me!
One time, I stayed across the street at the new Hyatt. And, if you want to take a vacation at a regular, but nice, hotel - go for it. Take the elevator to the lobby, swim in a pool.
However, if you want to go to the beach, you have to walk across the street to the Beach Club! The rustic atmosphere is a wonderful and rare experience. I will be back!

Traveler Beware....IT'S A DIVE!! Visited: August 2004 |

This property has misrepresented itself!! It's obvious to even the novice traveler that the owner has not reinvested in this 30-yr old property. The inadequate locks on the room doors and windows had me worried during the night. The pipes squeal like a pig whenever you run the water for a shower, to wash your hands and especially when you flush the toilet. The open air bar and dining area is nice except for the crows...they are not wary of people and will land on your table to partake in your meal with you!! Not to mention landing on the buffet table to help themselves. The dead roaches on the floor near the buffet left a lot to be desired. Very unsanitary!! The food is fair, at best, but your selection is very limited. The staff, with a few exceptions, made up for many of the property's shortcomings. They were very friendly and accommodating and showed an unparrallelled excitement about their job. I will visit the Caymans again but will not stay at the Beach Club Colony...IT'S A DIVE. |
