This was our first trip to the Caribbean, and it will be hard to top it. The view and sunsets were incredible and the staff was very friendly. We were asked every day if we were enjoying ourselves and what our plans were for the day.
Yes, it was expensive, but we had breakfast in our room every morning and ate dinner several nights at Ferdinand's, which was incredible! I have been researching other islands and other resorts and we are coming back to Cayman and to the Westin next year.

An absolutely amazing week! Visited: September 2000 |

We stayed at the Westin Grand Cayman over a year ago, and since then have been waiting to write to inform others of the magical time we had at this hotel. My wife and I have traveled quite extensively throughout the Caribbean, and never have we stayed in a hotel quite like the Westin on Seven Mile Beach.
The staff, the facilities, the food, the drinks, the service and the general ambiance of the place were electric. The spa was Gwen’s favorite; she had a daily visit at what she called the best massage in the world, and that gave me a chance hit the great gym, while our kids Reno and Wendy enjoyed the fabulous beach and amazing pool and great tennis facilities.
Casa Havana was possibly the best meal I have ever had and the other restaurant was almost as exquisite. Much thanks to the great service if Brian whom I believe was from Waterloo, Canada (not far from us) and also Colin whom, if I remember correctly, is also Canadian.
Thank you staff and management for a wonderful experience. We will defiantly return sometime in 2002; we are hooked! Special thanks to Jeff, Louise, and Scott, who added a special touch to our amazing vacation.

My wife & I just spent 9 relaxing days at the Westin. The hotel staff are very friendly. The beach behind the hotel is beautiful. We definitely plan to return to the Westin in the future. |

We spent a few (4) days at the Westin and had a great time. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The island is a beautiful place to spend a vacation. The snorkeling trips on the island are worth the trip alone. We plan on returning next year. |

My wife and I got back from a one-week stay in Grand Cayman. We liked the location of the Westin; the beach was great, and the service on the beach was terrific.
We did have some trouble with our room. They first put us in a room where they were doing construction in an adjacent room early in the morning. When we complained, the manager quickly offered us another room, but no upgrade (we had an island view). It was kind of a pain to move rooms once we got situated, so we were hoping for a freebie of some sort.
The new room had a pretty uncomfortable mattress, but the hotel did put a pad in once we complained (you could feel the springs in the mattress). Two other small gripes: breakfast will cost you over $40 at the Westin (we recommend going to Eats across the street which will run you closer to $20 and you won't have to combat pesky crows trying to steal your food). The second thing was that we got a sense that the concierge tries to direct you to certain restaurants at night (we suspected some kickbacks after comparing what the concierge recommended with what the locals recommend). Our favorite restaurants were Bed, The Brasserie and the Reef Grill. Bed was the best value.
There was a great reef in front of the Governor's House which was located right next to the Westin, makes for some great snorkelling. The Sunset Cruise on a $500,000 Catamaran was a pretty cool thing. |

A nice hotel and a beautiful beach! Visited: January 2000 |

This was our first trip to the Caribbean and we stayed at the Westin for 12 days. Our first breakfast at the hotel's restaurant was an eye-opener! It cost $42.00 US! After that we found this diner across the street where our breakfast was usually around $12.00 US.
Bring plenty of cash to stay in the Cayman Islands.
The hotel offers a great pianist in the lobby where you can sit and enjoy an after-dinner drink. The pool area is great—lots of sun and shade. You literally step from the pool area onto the white gorgeous sand. The staff was always very friendly and helpful.
We rented a car from within the hotel, too, and toured the island. There are lots of great restaurants on the island, but a rental is really needed. |

A 5-star stay! Visited: January 2000 |

Although there were three hurricanes brewing around us, The Westin Resort was a great surrender from the storm. It no doubt has the best beach and ocean view on the island. The service was terrific. The pool area and lobby were magnificent. The staff were constantly maintaining and cleaning.
Our rooms were spacious (nothing fancy)and overlooked the pool area and the beach. Restaurant Casa Havana located in the hotel was worth every penny - the banana mango dessert was incredible.
There were plenty of local places to get a more reasonably priced meal in the area as well. The Lone Star Restaurant was great for tex-mex and a beer. The Wharf was also quite initimate - on the water and at 9:00 pm they fed the tarpon (huge fish) from the deck every night!
I cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay at the Westin and Grand Cayman. I recommend walking across the street to Capt. Marvin's to rent snorkel equipment or take a tour to stingray city for half the price of the hotel's Red Sail Sports.
This is an expensive island; take plenty of cash. |

Excellent beachfront property, great food and service Visited: January 2000 |

My husband and I just returned from a 6 day trip at the Westin. The beach was beautiful. It was calm and blue. It was the best beach by far on the island and one of the best in the Caribbean. The beach service was incredible. (Drinks and food.) You don't have to leave your spot all day.
The restaurants were very good. Some say expensive but you get what you pay for. It was worth the money. The Sunday brunch was excellent. Don't miss it unless you are on a budget($100 U.S. for 2). If you don't want a gourmet meal you can walk across the street to Eats Cafe. Very reasonable and good food. There were so many restaurants, you will certainly find one to fit your taste and budget. From Burger King to gourmet, Cayman has it all!
The Westin was the best hotel choice on the island. The Hyatt was nice also but it was not on the beach and the Hyatt beach was packed with people from the cruise ships. If you like to be chair to chair with others you might like the Hyatt.
The rooms at the Westin were average. Nothing fancy but adequate. There wasn't much property to walk around. I would have liked some fish ponds and gardens like other Westin resorts I've been to but the beach made up for it.
The only complaint we had was the gym. It was very small and hardly had any weights. Don't expect to have a good workout here.
Overall, this wa a great hotel on a wonderfully clean and safe island. Great for families and couples. |

Great place for a long weekend Visited: January 2000 |

We just got back from four days/three nights and found it be perfect for a long weekend. Very relaxing, beautiful beach, friendly, helpful staff. I recommend renting a jeep and exploring the rest of the island. Also, as some of the other reviewers recommended, go to Eats (across the street) for breakfast, lunch, whatever. Very reasonably priced. |
