Q: hi i am travelling to cuba from ecuador, meeting friends there who are bringing my laptop from england with them. i have heard that it is likely that it will be confiscated at the airoprt, can you tell me if this is possible adn what the advice is on bringing laptops? Answer

A: DVD players are not allowed in Cuba and since most laptops play DVDs they will be confiscated upon arrival. They will offer to return it upon departure, but stories of unreturned items are common. If you want your laptop, have your friends DHL it to you in Ecuador.
