Q: I would like to travel to Curacao in November of 2007 for my husband's birthday. Is the tap water safe to drink? And is the crime rate high or low? We went to Mexico and I came home very sick with a parasite so I do not want to go anywhere that will cause that again. Answer

A: The tap water may be just fine but I wouldnt drink it as your body would not be used to it. Like anywhere else in the Caribbean the crime rate is relatively low but you still need to be sensible. Travelling out of the US is a risk - but everything in life is! Ask someone from Curacao to go to New York and they would be scared stiff!
