5.0 stars It was very beautiful and peaceful. Visited: July 2003

My family of four spent a week in the two-bedroom suites they offered. The setting was just stunning, very stylish in an unflashy way. There were no water slides or things like that - just lush grounds, live music almost nightly, private beaches and very good swimming and snorkeling within yards of the room. As a location to visit Willemstad and also explore the island, it was a great spot. Do not consider this if you seek a "resort", but rather prefer staying at a Villa as someone's guest.

4.0 stars What a beautiful property! Visited: December 2002

We chose this hotel because of the name (not having been to Curacao before). I was not disappointed. It was a first class property.

Our stay was during Christmas, and we had the most delightful Christmas dinner that we could have imagined. They started serving at around 8:00 p.m., and we finished our last course at 11:30 p.m. It was certainly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

We stayed in the Blues Wing and it was wonderful having a beautiful deck overlooking the ocean. We would love to return. The service was impeccable and the staff was cheerful. The bar "Blues" was also a lot of fun.

4.0 stars Great location, beautiful beaches Visited: October 2000

We stayed in the Blues Wing of Avila Beach Hotel for our honeymoon. The room was great, with its little terrace overlooking the Caribbean, and the small private beaches at the hotel were wonderful.

The only big disappointment was the “Jacuzzis” in the bathrooms of the Blues Wing. They are very small and only fit one person. Not really what were looking for in a Jacuzzi—especially on a honeymoon vacation.

The restaurants, while pricey, were superb and well worth a splurge!
