My family loves staying here. Visited: April 2008 Posted by edmond_jen We stayed here in the spring of 2007, and then again in the Spring of 2008. We are looking forward to returning this year - although I have read they are still doing construction to repair the damage from Omar. We like staying here because the small, calm, tree lined beach is perfect for our children. When they get tired of the beach, it is a one-minute walk to the swimming pools. We usually rent the two bedroom villa, and it is very comfortable for our family of five. The full-size kitchen and dining room table are also convenient, and we usually wind up eating at least half of our dinners at home. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance of the resort, and taxis to Willemstad are easy to arrange. There are also daily shuttles to the local supermarket, so it is not necessary to rent a car. On our past two trips we did not rent a car, but I think this spring we might in order to see more of the island. The Aquarium next door is small, but really fun for the kids. Also, the staff is enthusiastic and laid back (a rare combination). Be sure to check out the shark feeding! The only negative thing is that it is not a "resort" the way most people think of resorts. There is no room service to speak of, drink service at the pool or on the beach is limited, and housekeeping services are limited. In addition, there is only one small restaurant on site, and the service could be nicer. There aren't lots of activities and lots of people, either. All of that is fine with us, but if you are looking for a swim-up bar kind of vacation, you should look elsewhere. 7 users found this review helpful. 0 found this review unhelpful.
