3.0 stars Very nice Visited: April 2001

April is a great time to go to Curacao—not a drop of rain and hot!

The hotel was nice. The room we had was not great, as it backed onto the main road. It was very noisy for first couple of days, then we got used to it. Try and get a room closer to the beach on one of the end units of the u-shaped hotel setup. The newer part of the hotel is nice, the rooms were much bigger, but the view was not great. Most rooms faced to the side, so no real ocean view—just a partial view.

The food was quite good at all of the restaurants. The only annoying aspect of the restaurants is that you are handed a bill with every meal. You have to sign even if you are on the all-inclusive plan and there was a big space for the tip. The staff was mostly bored and listless and if you did not leave a tip they noticed and remembered. You can leave a tip at the end of your stay, if you choose instead of every meal, which was what we did.

The beach was nice, but the sand was full of coral and hard on the feet. We rented a car, which was not too expensive (about $50 Canadian a day). Gas was $2.00 US a litre. We traveled to many beaches, which were all lovely. But the sand was not sand rather ground up coral, more or less depending on the beach. Jeremy was about the worst beach with great chunks of coral. Get water shoes!

Do not miss the ostrich farm. It was a bit trying to get to, but worth the trip.

The snorkeling was excellent just about everywhere.

All in all, it was a very good vacation.

4.0 stars A great dive site. Visited: April 2001
Posted by jandebyland
We went to Princess with our local dive shop. We stayed in one of the time shares in the tower by the dive shop, which is under new management and was doing a great job. Mark was doing a great job with his service to divers. It was very safety oriented, but experienced divers can dive their own profiles using computers within shop guidelines. We had a wonderful time. Eat at Seaside Terrace and Hook's Hut. You also must dive the sites, Mushroom Forest, Superior Producer and Habitat’s House Reef.

5.0 stars Princess Beach is Paradise Visited: January 2000
Posted by tkib
I loved Princess Beach resort so much that I got 19 of my diving buddies to save up and return with me for a week of excellent dive resort living. We all agreed that living in paradise must make the natives forget about the "concept" of time. After all what's to hurry for? It never rains, there is always a breeze, the sun rises and sets at the same time +/- 45 minutes year round, the ocean quality, beach and reef, is superb, and as consistent as the island's geographical location.

I am certain that management does their best with the limited resources available and the lack of urgency in service is partially due to the fact that, there is not anyone else to hire on the Island. After spending a total of three weeks of my life there, I always seem to become used to the "relaxed" style of service before I leave. Then the reality of a stress filled job and hectic schedule make me count the days to the next time that I may step off of a plane and hear Bon Di, Bon Bini a Curacao.

Ah! The Life!

4.0 stars The best holiday ever! Visited: January 2000
Posted by ATraveler
Curacao and the Princess Beach Resort are great. With my whole family (33 persons), I stayed there from 13 of August till 21 of August. Every day we started with a swim in the pool and the sea. But, the most fantastic thing was the snorkling and the diving, great great great great. The employees of the hotel were all very kind and friendly.

The whole family had a great time and it was the best holiday ever.
