We had mixed feelings about this place. Visited: October 2005 |

On the positive side, the pool area was wonderful, the food was good, the food and drinks were priced reasonably (for a resort). Also, the staff at the pool and restaurants were great.
On the negative side, we were kicked out of our pool chair one afternoon because of a "large corporate group", we were awakened at 10:30 PM in the evening with fireworks being shot off of our building, our toliet was broken, the bathroom smelled of cigars, and we had some minor personal items missing from our room.
We spoke with one of the managers, Freddy, and he was very apologetic. Our ocean view room was $150 which I think was a fair price for this property.
Overall, we had a good time at the resort, but it was definitely not five-star property. We have read so many positive comments on this board that I think we were expecting too much.
Would we return the to the Marriott Curacao? Probably not. Although, it was one of the nicer places on the island. |

Celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary with our five sons and one young lady, we had a very enjoyable seven-day stay at this resort.
We had fabulous food and drinks at the poolside cafe at sunset, enjoyed a great BBQ party, and met warm and friendly local staff. We also loved the fabulous sea view from our suite. It made this a never-to-forget holiday for all of us.
And, as a bonus, our son Rogier met a very nice (Dutch) girl friend, a nicer memento is not possible. We all hope to come back for another holiday! |

This hotel was incredible. The restaurants all had really good food. The resort was clean and very well maintained. The staff was so friendly and happy, despite working so hard outdoors all day long.
Rent a car and visit the Boca Tabla Caves, the flamingo area, and stop at a few of the public beaches along the way. Each one seemed to offer something special! Don't miss Willemstad either. The bridge alone made for something worth seeing.
We had a great time. And even after two weeks, we still weren't ready to come home. |

My wife and I, and our two kids enjoyed the "Total Escape" package. It was definitely the way to go.
The staff was amazing. We have to point out one person in particular. Edwin was a terrific waiter. He made everything possible. Whatever we wanted, he made happen. Ask for him, and you will not regret it!
We have nothing but positive feedback about this resort. We hated to leave. |

My husband and I just returned from seven beautiful days at the Marriott.
The staff was perfect - especially Edwin, our beach bar waiter! Whether we were lounging by the pool or on the beach, Edwin would find us and serve the perfect drinks. He was a very humble man that seemed to take pride in his work. Plus he gave the best names of restaurants; Grill King, Scampi's, and the Governor.
As for the island, take along extra cash for cab fares, a round trip to town was $25-$30. Please do not forget the sun screen, talk about hot, hot, and hot! Have fun. |

Last year in March of 2004, my friends and I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Toronto, Canada for a week. I had so much fun I didn’t even want to come back to Jersey. We stay on the tenth floor so we had an ocean front view. Our room size was the normal size of a hotel room, but what I liked most was the pool because it was so huge.
The first three days the weather was quite comfortable but then it rain the remainder of the days. The rain didn’t stop us from having a good time because we still shopped and toured around the city. The foods in the restaurants were good and reasonably priced. The staff was also very friendly and courteous.
Everything was just perfect! I have been on many vacations, but this was the most relaxing and wonderful vacation I ever had. I would highly recommend!!!

As a frequent traveler to the Caribbean over the last 25 years, I would rate this hotel perhaps as my overall choice for the best. It is not the Ritz Carlton, but the staff will make you believe you were staying there.
It is clean, with a great beach, a nice gym, and great breakfast buffets. Not only do they have an attentive staff, but the nicest employees you will ever meet across the board.
It is a rare gem. Unlike another reviewer, I would recommend the all-inclusive. And room service is included in this. |

My family and I (husband and eight-year-old daughter) stayed here Chistmas week. We had an ocean front room with a great view - although the room itself was on the small side.
There was a large pool with a swim-up bar and the beach was a few steps away. Although the beach was a little rocky, it did not prevent people from using it and the water was unbelievably clear. There was pretty good snorkeling right off the beach in the area near the dive shop.
The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We ate mostly at the poolside restaurant which had a selection of burgers, salads, etc. And we ate at the Palm cafe for the buffet breakfast which was excellent.
The resort also had a "deli" where we could get reasonably priced and good sandwiches, pizza, ice cream, etc., and eat it in the room or on the beach (there were picnic tables on the beach). There were buffet dinners a few nights during the week and the beach side barbecue was fun because we ate at the picnic tables right at the beach.
There were many families here when we were here, but with the exception of Christmas day, the resort never felt overly crowded or noisy. We loved it and would definitely go back. |

My husband and I just returned from seven nights in Curacao at the Marriott. If you plan to go to Curacao, the Marriott is the place to stay.
Yes, there were other excellent hotels, but Marriott had it all: excellent beach, immaculate well appointed rooms, excellent food and drink, and courteous staff. Since the world famous Kura Hulanda didn't even have its own beach, the Marriott beat it for location.
If you like the Caribbean with a European flavor, go to Curacao. We're looking forward to returning in a few months. |

Linda and I stayed at the Marriott in Curacao and we had an absolutely wonderful time. We are already making plans to go back.
The island was stunning and very clean. The resort was immaculate! The beach was private and a good size. The pool was designed wonderfully with a swim up bar. The food in the restaurants was also very good and reasonably priced. The staff was the best; friendly and very courteous.
We have been to many places, but this was the most relaxing and wonderful vacation we have had.
I highly recommend! |

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Marriot for nine nights. We had a wonderful time.
The hotel was beautiful. It had all the amenities we expected. The hotel staff was very friendly. They made sure we were always having a pleasant time. The beach was perfect, very clean, spacious and the water was extremly clear. The only thing about the beach that was slightly annoying, was having to wake up very early to get chairs under the beach huts. But, if you don't care about the shade, there are plenty of beach chairs for you.
Although the bar could be a bit of a walk, there was always a staff member walking around on the beach to take orders. The pool area was very delightful, very clean, cool and breezy.
If you are thinking of going to Curacao, please stay here, you will not be disappointed. We went next door to the Sheraton and were totally happy that we stayed at the Marriot. Their beach was tiny, and everyone looked to be seated on top of one another (no privacy at all). Also, the beach was totally man made. There was a boardwalk in the middle of the water limiting where you could actuatlly swim.
The food choices were somewhat limited at most of the hotels, offering one or two dining options. I would not do the all-inclusive. We dined out most nights and found it easy to get to restaurants by cab. We especially liked La Rousse, Ft. Waazahmied and Ft. Nassau. They were great dining experiences. One restaurant we don't recommend is Scampi's, we received bad service and bad food.
Overall, we had a marvelous vacation. |

My wife and I truly enjoyed our recent stay at the Marriott Curacao. The hotel is beautiful, and its beach offers fantastic snorkeling, scuba diving and other water sports.
Every employee of the hotel, without fail, is consistently helpful and in a good mood. The casino is relatively small, but one of the few on the island with craps. The gym is adequately equipped, and offers massages (around $80/hour, but well worth it).
The Marriott also has several restaurants, each of which are on the expensive side, but have outstanding food. Simply put, this is the hotel you want to stay at if you plan to visit Curacao. It is also worth the extra money to get an oceanfront room. Our oceanfront room had a spectacular 180 degree view of the Caribbean sea. |

This was our first vacation since our 3-year-old twins were born. And we weren't disappointed. We found the resort to be neat and clean. The pool and beach were beautiful, and there was never a problem finding chairs or getting towels. Unfortunately, there were two days when the pool was unusable due to repairs, but then we just used the beach, which was fine.
We were disappointed that the Emerald Grille Restaurant was closed for the summer season, however, the food in the other restaurants was very good and not over-priced. Meals from room service were delivered in 20 minutes. We were amazed by the staff here - always friendly and seemed to constantly be in good moods.
All-in-all, a very fun and relaxing vacation. We definitely would come back to the Marriott in the future.

This is a beautiful resort with a great beach and is immaculate! The staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating.
We went diving each day with the dive shop that is right on the beach and everyone was so wonderful. We ventured outside of the hotel a couple of times and decided that there was no need; this resort has it all!
What a wonderful resort to spend your vacation at!

We thought that Marriott Curacao was absolutely gorgeous. The staff was by far the best we have encountered in the Caribbean—Aruba, Antigua, Turks & Caicos, etc. We chose the all-inclusive plan and it was more than well worth it.
Premium brand drinks (Absolute, Bacardi, Dewers, Heiniken, etc.) were served. If you choose to eat inside or outside at Portofino Restaurant it was very elegant and we were treated like royalty. A piano player played beautiful music each evening (inside).
The pool and beach were phenomenal. There were some rocks along the beach, so you may want to bring water shoes with you. Snorkeling offshore was terrific.
Go, relax and enjoy yourself. Thanks to a great staff!

We chose this facility for our anniversary and couldn't have made a better choice. The staff was the best we had ever experienced and they were always friendly and helpful.
We loved waking up every morning and looking out on the patio to see people floating and swimming the protected beach area. We started calling them the "Bobbins".
When we first arrived to check in, the view was spectacular. The room was tastefully decorated and always clean. It was the most relaxing vacation we have ever had, and we will probably be returning in the future when we have the air miles again. |

We just returned home from a one week stay at the Marriott in Curacao. We loved every minute of our time here. The resort was immaculate, the pools clean, the rooms spotless. We took the 1/2 day snorkel trip to the sunken tugboat which was offered at the dive shack on the beach and thought that was well worth the $18.
Try to get a first floor room right on the ocean if you can. We did and thought it was worth the extra expense. |

My wife and I stayed here on Marriott Rewards, as were most people that we spoke to while here. This facility was first class all the way; restaurants were excellent, service was excellent yet not overwhelming, and the grounds were well maintained.
Rooms were clean and well furnished. For future Marriott Rewards visitors, do not expect the normal amenities that Platinum Level Members are normally used to such as concierge lounge, upgrades when available, etc. However, I was very pleased with this property. |
