Our stay was splendid. Visited: November 2004

The Fort Young Hotel offers a great lodging for reasoable prices.

We had an oceanfront room with a spacious balcony. The room was very well appointed, with a satellite TV and fridge. It was very clean and spacious.

The restaurants were okay, but lacked variety in the menu. After a few days, we seemed to run out of choices. There were not many places to go elsewhere to eat. There was a good restaurant across the street, and the Hotel Evergreen was about five miles south.

We had a nice experience overall.

Fort Young Hotel is a bargain. Visited: April 2002

Fort Young was elegant, unique and wonderully accessible.

The delicious breakfast provided me with all the calories I needed for my active, adventure-filled days. Fresh mango and passion fruit juices complimented a wonderful Carribean spread including ackees, saltfish, bake, etc.

The coffee was just as good as Blue Mountain Jamaican coffee. It was absolutely fantastic.

The staff was courteous and friendly. They were genuinely interested in guests having a really good time(big up Wayne!), which was easy to do in Dominica. Dominicans are really friendly people. Ken and his staff, including Martin, provided excellent tours and they were based right at the hotel.

My wife and I had a great room right on the water.

Dominica was fantastic, and Fort Young was the place to stay.

A highly recommended place to stay. Visited: December 2001

After extensively browsing the web in search of a high-quality, yet affordable place to stay during our first visit to Dominica, we decided to make reservations at the Fort Young Hotel. We did not regret it.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the very friendly, helpful, and efficient staff at the front-desk who immediately made us feel at home.

Our standard room was small but clean and comfortable, with a beautiful view of the gardens in the back, and the hills on the island’s Southwest coast.

The food at the hotel restaurant tasted just as good as it looked. It was well prepared and noticeably fresh.

The hotel is conveniently located near the center of town, which made it very convenient to take a stroll around town and do some shopping, or visit the botanical gardens.

All in all, we enjoyed a relaxed and very reasonably priced stay in Dominica. We particularly enjoyed the friendly attitude of the staff and the local people.

We will definitely visit Dominica in the near future and when we do, the Fort Young Hotel will be our choice again. We highly recommend it.

A gem in the middle of the city. Visited: October 2001

I just returned from Dominica and enjoyed my stay at the Fort Young Hotel. I found the entire staff to be very friendly and accommodating. Remember that it is an island and things are a bit slower than elsewhere, but in these days and times, I found it to be quite pleasant.

The standard room had a beautiful view of the ocean, cable TV, coffee maker with coffee every morning and a nice balcony. The hotel had a very nice shopping and bar area. The breakfast buffet was sufficient to get your day started. The rum punches were "old school," not the red stuff they serve on the more commercial islands. Overall, again, the location, price and friendly staff could not be beat.
