5.0 stars I had the vacation of a lifetime at Crescent Moon Cabins. Visited: November 2005

My trip to Dominica was the best week of my life - and Crescent Moon Cabins was responsible!

Hiking with their tour guides, scuba diving and just hanging out around the cabins was magical. Dominica looked like a green heaven on earth, and Crescent Moon was the perfect place to recharge with all the island has to offer.

From the red sunset views to card games with good company, from cool dips in the pool to the best meals, there is no better place to stay in all of Dominica. I can't thank them enough...I will be back as soon as possible! No joke, I have dreams about the meals and ice cream.

The friendliness, accommodation and personal atmosphere were the most outstanding and consistent qualities about Crescent Moon.

Ron, Jean, Tiana and David have shown me how simple and pleasing it is to run a self-sustaining and customer-friendly lodge. They made my stay in Dominica the best it could have been.

4.0 stars Crescent Moon is nestled within the tranquility of nature. Visited: November 2005

Crescent Moon Cabins were the perfect accommodations for us to escape the respnsiblities of everyday life. The cottages were surrounded with lush vegetation and the sound of the running stream below was therapeutic.

The proprietors (Ron, Jean, and Tiana), were friendly, efficient and anticipated our every need. Ron, the chef, surpassed our expectations with his delicious and nutritious meals. Most of the produce, herbs, eggs and fresh goat milk foods were grown or raised on site.

The cottages were convenient to Roseau, the main city. They were also close to the nature trails, waterfalls, hot springs and the National Reserve.

My husband and I look forward to a return visit on the nature island and being pampered at Crescent Moon Cottages

They say that atmosphere is everyting, but Crescent Moon Cabins is even more. They provide comfortable accommodations in a beautiful, undeveloped rain forest. Meals are prepared with gusto by a chef that takes great pride in creating fresh, organic, and exciting dishes using much of the local delicacies.

Ron, Jean, and Tiana are very attentive hosts and we never lacked for great ideas to start out our daily adventures. If you have an interest in experiencing how a resort can function with a high level of luxury and still be in harmony with the natural surroundings of an exquisite island - Dominica, then Crescent Moon Cabins is your best bet!

5.0 stars Staying here is bliss - with the best food, best setting, best staff! Visited: November 2005

This was a beautiful, centrally located site. There was plenty to see and do right here, yet remote enough to be completely undisturbed, yet accessible.

Never have I felt so well cared-for or so "at home" when traveling. The food is inspired, with many of the ingredients grown or made on-site. The staff was wonderful, including the dogs. If I can, I will return here many times - and I never go anywhere twice.

I stayed here for three nights and it was great! The peaceful valley and the dinners here were so rewarding after a day of hiking. It was a perfect place to unwind and leave it all behind.

5.0 stars Adventures abound in Dominica Visited: November 2005

Dominica is awesome! If you truly want a vacation like no other then you need to come here. There is amazing hiking, waterfalls, hot springs, sightseeing, snorkeling and more. The food prepared here by hosts Ron & Jean is spectacular. Watching the sunset from the hammock on your cabin's deck is awe inspiring . When you finally fall asleep all you hear are sounds of nature-the river, the animals or the wind or the calming rain hitting the greenhouse.

Once again, we are full! Our biggest worry was the debate on what the favorite part of the day was - the food, the hiking or culture.

This was truly the garden on the island of Eden! The view from the cabins was amazing and only to be outdone by the food - some of the best we have ever eaten. It was prepared with love and care.

Ron and Jean were excellent hosts who were very knowledgeable about local flora, fauna, and culture. We have enjoyed every moment of our trip from the hikes to the days spent bouncing between the hot pool and the hammock.

If you are thinking of visiting Dominica, Cresent Moon should be on your itinerary.

Of course Dominica is a volcanic rainforest wonderland. But the Crescent Moon Cabins seem to be at the vortex of all this magic.
Ron and Jean have created an oasis of organic delights and all those who enter are forever changed.

The other vistors who have been affected by this spell have already used many words to describe how amazing this place is, but words are not up to the task. The only way you will ever understand the warmth and happiness of the Crescent Moon experience is to be there.

We were not at all disappointed with Crescent Moon Cabins. It was exactly as described on their web site - but better.

If you are looking for luxury, go elsewhere. This is a tranquil, simple setting with awesome food, and friendly, helpful hosts.

everything about Crescent Moon was wonderful. Ron and his family were so helpful and generous with information about the island.

We really appreciated and enjoyed all of the homemade/homegrown goodies. They served the best coffee on the island for sure! The cabins, nestled into a beautiful valley, were the pefect setting for relaxing and/or exploring the rest of the island.

Crescent Moon Cabins is undoubtedly one of the finest places to stay one could ever dream up. Each day is filled with as much adventure, relaxation, harmony and home cooking as you can handle.

The Vivarellis are dialed into the community, and always come to the breakfast table ready to offer suggestions for that day's adventure, based on your preferences. We are counting the days until our return trip.

5.0 stars Words are not enough to describe this ecological wonder! Visited: November 2004

Crescent Moon Cabins has got to be the best place to stay on this beautiful island. This little piece of Eden is really just that.

Wander the grounds and pick the fruit right off the trees, have a soak in the stone hot tub with fresh herbs, and sample five-star cuisine tailored to your tastes.

You can also enjoy great conversation and be inspired by your gracious hosts, Ron, Jean and Tamara; or chill out in your hammock and enjoy the sounds and sights of the roaring ocean. In addition, you can wake up to fresh roasted coffee. The list goes on and on.

I have traveled far and wide to many places off the beaten track, and I am quite sure that this hideaway is one of the most beautiful hidden gems to be found.

After having Ron pack a delicious lunch, and hiking five miles up Trois Piton to see the world's only boiling lake (which I highly recommend), I got engaged. I can't think of a more beautiful place for the happy occasion.

If you are an adventurer, nature lover, and appreciater of all things beautiful and harmonious, this is the place to be.

My wife Jess and I just got back from Dominica, and Ron, Jean, and Tiana served the best food we have ever had anywhere.

I only wish we had less things planned and more days there to really take it all in. They truly run the most special place we have ever stayed! We will be back!

The title says it all. This place was fantastic.

Ron is the best chef that has ever cooked for me. Tiana's home grown fruits, vegetables and herbs were out of this world. This was a paradise for vegetarians like my wife and me. The creative dishes were so filled with interesting and complementing flavors that it was impossible to describe. I am still trying to recover from withdrawal from Ron's coffee that he roasted daily. This was truly the freshest food possible.

Jean , Ron, and Tiana kept this paradise looking so beautiful. My only complaint was that we had too many things planned for the short three days we were in the middle of the island, to be able to hang around and really enjoy it like it should be enjoyed.

Their place in the rainforest was like magic. On the way back from a hike down to and back from Masacre, there was a rainbow that started at Crescent Moon itself. I should have taken that as a sign to never leave their paradise.

We will definitely be coming back some day. They were wonderful, real, natural, beautiful, interesting, fun, simple, smart, and friendly people. If you love the rainforest and if you love great food, than you must go to Crescent Moon!

I am originally from Seattle, and I currently live and work in the Caribbean. I've seen more islands, and stayed in more places than most, and finding Crescent Moon Cabins was a real gift.

The cabins are comfortable and cozy. Nothing compares to watching the sunset from your deck.

The food is incredible. It is truly amazing. It is the best of the Caribbean - rich, flavorful, healthy - fantastic. Be sure to indulge in the coffee, a real treat!

Dominica is one of the most beautiful islands I have seen. It is a true paradise for nature lovers - with mountains, rivers and rainforests.

I can't wait until I can get back to Dominica. Crescent Moon Cabins will definitely be built into my itinerary.

This is an awesome place! The cabins are open-air cabins that allow you to experince the sounds of the island fully. The pictures do not do the place justice.

There is a vista of the ocean from the decks of the cabins that is breathtaking. And while the Cresent Moon may be located up in the island interior more, it's much better to be up in the cooler air of the mountain and forest, and away from the bustle of the town. It allows you to enjoy the rum punch and excellent meals that Ron and Jean make that much more!

The food is as different of an experience of the island is. Cresent Moon will also provide you above par guides for any of the hikes you may do. Our guides were much, much better than the "off the street" guides you may find on your own.
