Q: we are looking to arrive in Punta Cana from Santiago. There are 2 of us and need to travel to the British Virgin Islands for about 1 week. What is the cheapest way to travel from Punta Cana to BVI. Are there direct flights or should we island hop by boat via Puerto Rico or US VI. Also do Australian passport holders need a visa prior to arrival in Dom Rep. Answer

A: Boat is not an option. Too far, no service except for freight. LIAT flies from Santo Domingo to Virgin Gorda, but you will have to go through Antigua. American Eagle flies but you will have to go through San Juan.
