Q: Looking for an all-inclusive quiet resort for 2 single women in their 40's. Any suggestions? Answer
(4 Replies) Last Post 03/06/07, 10:08 pm

A: I am in my 40's and go every year w/a female friend. Each resort is pretty much what you make of it and being a mellow person who likes to sit on the beach and read, I have never been disappointed. These resorts are not the party places that you find in Cancun. I would suggest Ocean Bavaro or Globalia Punta Cana Grand (formally Grand Oasis). I did stay one year at Secret Excellence, and it is top of the line in quality and quiet, but it is primarily a couple honeymoon resort (thus the couples are very quietly self involved) and the ocean in this location is rough. Good luck with your decision and remember that your experience is what you make of it. I would highly recommend taking the Outback Safari excursion no matter which resort you stay at. It is a blast AND educational. My friend couldn't make it this year, so I am going alone ... to Globalia ... July 28- Aug 4th. Who knows ... perhaps I will see you there :)

A: Grand Palladium Palace Royal Suites section is quieter and more private..yet if you wish, you can access other 3 resorts.

A: melia caribe tropical is wonderful, but upgrade to the royal service suites, less crowded, private pool area and private beach area. we had a most relaxing time there.

A: "All-inclusive" and "quiet" do not play well together. The All-inclusive properties in DR are mega-resorts that have hundreds of guests at a time. Might want to try someplace like the Bahamas (Tiamo Resort).
