Q: Are there any small-ish beach hut (thatched roof, tiki style) hotels directly on the beach on the north shore/samana? Answer

| A: There are several great Caribbean styled accommodations around Las Terrenas on the Samana Peninsular. Lovely places in tropical gardens or on or near the beach. Funky, shack type, artistically decorated cabins, rooms and small hotels. Yes,some have thatched roofs. It's unfortunate that some people visit the DR and and don't get to see beyond the very touristy resorts and large hotels. A good site is www.samana.net |

| A: Sorry, DR is not the place to find small quaint hotel like you are seeking. DR is full all-inclusive hotels that have hundreds of rooms. |
