Would never stay here again. Visited: March 2003 Posted by claudiajthompson Prior to our arrival, we made a reservation at Barceló Bávaro Beach Resort. When we landed at the airport we were told the resort was overbooked and we were sent to Barceló Bávaro Casino Suites & Hotel instead, which was nowhere near the beach. We were given bracelets for all five of the Barceló Bávaro resorts but you couldn't get a beach chair on the beach or by the pool near the Palace resort, as they had overbooked all the resorts. The food was good and so were the drinks. The staff spoke very little English. Our bathroom ceiling leaked when the people above us took a shower, which made the bathroom wet all the time. The fridge wasn't very cold and the air conditioner didn't work very well. There were 4 couples that went with us and we all had the same problems with the rooms. The added bonus is that if you like getting up a 4 or 5 a.m. there are roosters outside your patio doors that will wake you every morning.
