This is a great resort. Visited: January 2007 Posted by sissamia My sister, my best friend and I stayed here from January 23-30, 2007 and had an amazing time. We heard others complain about little things like mold on the shower curtain hooks and things. However, all I can say to these people is this: If all you can find to complain about in a thirrd world country (which is tropical) is mold on the shower curtain hooks, I suggest you get a life! The resort was small, therefore most of the staff greeted us by our first names with a big hug and an even bigger smile. Ony and Cesar at the pool bar were just amazing. The activities staff was tireless, arranging games and competitions all day long - both at the beach and at the main pool. We tried both a la carte restaurants and really liked the Brazilian. The Italian... well not so much, but it was still edible. The buffet restaurant had everything you can imagine. If you couldn't find something to eat, you must be too picky. The rooms were large (we had a junior suite) with an incredibly large patio, and the rooms were cleaned daily. Towels and linens were changed every day, too. The beach was about a 15-minute walk, but the scenery along the way (mountains in distance, golf course) was very enjoyable. The plaza in the complex had many stores, and you will find whatever you need there (even Pizza Hut). We went on the Tour of the Town (Pub Crawl booked through the amazing Cafe Cito), and we had a blast. We also hired a taxi ($25 US) for us and two friends to tour Puerto Plata flea markets and the town in general. It was a good deal. We went to some of the bars within the complex (Mangu and Roadway), and had a great time. We had so much fun at this resort that we are already planning our next vacation here. If you go, leave your attitude at home because these people work so hard to make your holiday fun.
