Did you find this helpful? This hotel was very disappointing. Visited: March 2002 Posted by jmoore9373 We had stayed at the Lina in 1991, and enjoyed our stay. I'm not sure if their deterioration is due to new management (Barcelo)or not, but we had a few problems. We were given one rate from the travel service, quoted another (lower) rate at check in, and raised to a 3rd (higher) rate at check out. We stood for 45 minutes asking to speak to the manager. Also, the clerk was billing us for 3 extra days that we weren't even there! In addition, the room we were given was not great - we had problems with the water, bugs, uncomfortable beds, etc. When we return to Santo Domingo, we will not go back to the Lina. 3 users found this review helpful. 1 found this review unhelpful. The staff were very helpful and we enjoyed all the typical amenities that we have come to expect from American hotels. My wife particularly enjoyed the unusual addition of a large bath, cable, and mini-bar, which made for a very enjoyable evening.
