Montezuma's Revenge Visited: August 2005 Posted by bwilliams1 They will tell you that the water and the ice is fine to drink, (except for the tap water) - DON'T BELIEVE IT ! At least a third of the group that I was in had terrible intestinal problems from the second or third day on. Nice beach, but rooms are terrible. Did you find this helpful? You can't eat the food here. Visited: May 2005 Posted by jthomaswhite2003 The airfare in the deal was great, and my room was okay. However, the food was the worst. We had to leave and eat elsewhere. Also, the staff seemed anything but friendly, and our drinks were watered down. The only way to eat in the reservation-only places was to bribe the staff. They were coompletly empty, and stated "sorry we are full and you have no reservations". If we slipped them a $10, we got a "right this way". Most of the bars were closed, and the swim-up bar was never opened. There were limited times for eating, as well. They also hassled my private driver and tried to make me take their cab service instead. Finally, be very cafeful in using your credit card. This was my best holiday yet. Visited: May 2005 Posted by carol The staff here was very friendly and always there to help. The hotel was kept very clean at all times. In addition, the location of the hotel was right on the beach with the restaurant overlooking the sea. It was a great view. This is an older Resort with great beach and awesome drinks! Visited: March 2005 Posted by macleod62 This resort was okay. The rooms were small (if you get a regular room) but they were very clean. The staff will upgrade you if possible. I suggest you ask for one with two double beds. The rooms by the ocean were really damp. We thought they would be romantic, but we ended up asking to move (which we did without any hassle from the staff). Friends of ours stayed in resorts next door to this one, and had much larger, new and nicer rooms. We had no issues with the water or ice, and we didn't get sick at all. The drinks were amazing, the beach was beautiful, and the staff was great. The food all had the same taste. They must use the same type of oil to cook everything, because this one taste seemed to flavor all the dishes. They did a good job of offering lots of different dishes, but it all got a bit old by the end of the trip. Overall, it was a great place if you are looking for a low cost vacation to spend with lots of friends on the beach.
