I am glad that my month-long stay in the DR was in this hotel! Visited: July 2006 |

This summer, I stayed in this hotel for a month while I was on a study abroad trip (along with fifteen other students from my college).
From the time we arrived in the middle of June, to the time we left in the middle of July, we were treated very well by the staff at this hotel.
We ate in Cafe Carabe every night for dinner, and the service there was spectacular. They seemed to take an interest in the customer in a way that I have never experienced before. They remembered the drinks that each person liked, and they always had the special requested condiments out on the table before we got to dinner (and even in the spot where the person sat who requested it).
Even though we had to call for an extra wash cloth every now and then, the housekepping was on top of their game. We enjoyed all of the amenities, like the pool, the gym, and the sauna.
One thing I really liked about this clean hotel, was that it was not far from anything. It was in a central place. Another thing I liked was the incredible ambiance in the lobby. You can really relax or sit out on the outside living room. It was really peaceful.
I was also impressed with the amazing wireless connection for my laptop's internet in this hotel. I was able to keep in touch with family and friends easily with the good wireless capabilities.
In addition, I really enjoyed Sundays here because the streets were closed down to traffic, and there is nothing but music, basketball, bike riding, horse carriages, skating, etc. going on.
This hotel is my home when I'm not in the US. I really appreciated the way they made us feel welcomed. For example, while we were on this trip, two people in our party celebrated their birthdays. From the hotel, they received breakfast in bed and a birthday cake. This was very considerate, because they could not be home for their birthday, but they still got the chance to be celebrated.
This hotel was very nice, and I will be staying here when I come back to visit the Dominican Republic. I would recommend this hotel for the vacationing family, the business traveler, or the local who just wants to be pampered at a nice hotel. |

I have been to Dominican Republic five times already and I cannot wait to go again, many thanks to Melia Santo Domingo.
Each morning I was greeted with a newspaper. In the afternoon, after returning from my usual adventures, chocolates and a very clean room welcomed me.
I really appreciated the royal treatment. It was wonderful for me and my entire family. |

I have stayed in this hotel four times.
The location is ideal, and there are good taxi services always available on call. You can walk to the downtown area in five minutes.
The hotel rooms are cheerful and comfortable. The staff at the reception desk, the restaurants, and the business center are very cordial and helpful.
I will be happy to come back here any time. |

I have just returned from the Dominican Republic and I can only say that my visit to this country was a real dream holiday thanks to the attention, courtesy, and friendliness of the staff at the Melia Santo Domingo. The Manager and Assistant Manager deserve congratulations.
I will return to the Dominican Republic next year, and without doubt I will stay at the Melia Santo Domingo. When you travel with two small children like we did, it's a comfort to know that we will be taken good care of. Thank you. It was a home away from home. |
