| We stayed here during my sister's wedding at Sea Horse Ranch. Very friendly staff and very conveniently located between Sosua and Cabarete. Super comfy beds and great amenities like home theater, pool table, relaxing pool, and great views of the ocean! | |

This was a great villa. Visited: March 2009 |

| It was beautiful, safe, clean, modern, and in a great location. It was an awesome villa close to the beach, restaurants, and a small supermarket. The place was awesome, with a great setup. The whole place had upgrades galore. I will be returning someday. Hopefully soon. Aside from the villa, they had a semi-concierge service...Jeff, Juan Pablo, and Jonathon were wonderful. They really took care of every request I had. I highly recommend this villa. |

We felt that the web site was very misleading. Visited: March 2009 |

| We recently stayed at Sunrise Villa and were not impressed. We have done the whole vacation rental home "thing" before, and this particular rental location will not be remembered as one or our better experiences. The grounds were beautiful, the staff was friendly, and the pool nice. However, the whole package as sold on the web site "oversells and under-delivers" on many fronts, therefore making our whole experience below average. The food was mediocre, and for the vegetarians in the family they went home hungry. Processed, frozen bulk food was our afternoon snack, something that was obviously picked up at the local Dominican Republic Sam's Club type store. We had problems with the showers that we told the owner about on the first day, but these were never addressed and fixed, other than the token line of "Oh, you found one of our quirks". So the afternoon cold shower was a great way to get your second wind, not exactly the "luxury" that they are attempting to sell on their web site. In addition, laundry was not brought back the next day, but in a few days. It was delivered to the main house in a basket for all to rummage through (vs. dropping off in the rooms that it was picked up in). The biggest "beef" we had with the place was the fact that at 14 days before our arrival, we learned that despite what the web site indicated, there was no swimming in the ocean out in front of the house. There were no beach toys, and not enough beach chairs to accommodate the group. Also, board games were all thrown apart, there were no videos to watch, and no playstation. |

There were some ups and downs. Visited: February 2009 |

| I just returned from Luperon Beach Resort on a vacation with friends. I think at one time this was a really nice place, but it needs some work. Around the pools, some of the sun umbrellas were just the metal pieces, no canvas. There were also cockroaches and spiders in the rooms. The piece to hold up my shower head was broken, and not replaced. In addition, my friend did not have a shower curtain. A couple we met moved twice - once because they saw a cockroach and once because water came through their ceiling when the people upstairs showered. The beach was nice, and the food was good. The accommodations need work, though. |

We encountered long lines here. Visited: February 2009 |

| The food was tasty, but there were long, long lines. We tried to make reservations at the restaurants, and they did not make them. However, they wanted two hours to eat Mexican. There were not enough umbrellas, and we had to get up at 7 am to stand in line - and about ten were given out at 8 am. Also, the resort ran out of beer and liquior one night. What happened to all inclusive? I will return to the Dominican Republic, but not to the Coral Resort. |

We had a bad experience here. Visited: March 2008 |

| Sure, the beach was fantastic. The pools were great, and the hotel was huge. However, the people were another story. I don't think I've ever seen people who looked more miserable. Some of the men were nice. I suggest you tip everyone with single dollars, and you'll be fine. The bad experience was that the hotel had bed bugs that fed off our blood until I realized they weren't "sand fleas" (as I was told). I saw a show on TV about bed bugs before I left, so I knew what they looked like. I saw one at 5 am when I walked into my room. It was at the end of my bed on the covers (they only come out at night). It disappeared so fast I couldn't catch it. I was curious as to why they scheduled fumigation hours during the week? They actually left a note informing us they would fumigate our room the next morning. We cancelled it because we wanted to sleep in. Big mistake! In addition,, there was a man who would enter our room different times. I don't know how he came in. He would say he was fixing a lightbulb or something, but we never called to have anything fixed. He would seem to come in during hours when people would probably be gone from their rooms (out to the beach or pool). I am very suspicious, as we had an Adidas jacket stolen from our room. One night we came back to our room, and noticed that our pillows were taken off the bed and put under the chairs. On the last night, the covers were off and put under the desk. It was bizarre. Another downside was that it was hard to get drinks at the poolside bar because it took so long. There was only one pool with a swim up bar, and it was on the French side of the resort (far from the beach). They had "sides", meaning they grouped us based on what country we were from. There was one waitress walking around the pool to serve drinks. I think I saw her once maybe twice during my stay. The last day I was there, I gave her US dollars, and my drinks were always refilled as I sat by the pool. Basically, bring lots of US dollars in singles, and they will love you. The vendors pretty much forced guests to buy something. When you look at something, they notice it, and then they take it and put it in an envelope and say "Here, take it, come back with money" and when you say no, they say "Yeah, yeah take it go!". They make you feel bad and feel like you have to buy it! I didn't, but still they were annoying. It was a resort mostly for families and kids I think, but I'd still be careful about the bed bugs. I suggest you find another hotel if you go to the Dominican Republic. |

I thought it was a scam. Visited: January 2009 |

| After spending a full week here, and reading all the glowing reviews prior, I'm convinced that all these five-star entries are written by the time share owners trying to boost the occupancy. In the Bungalows' area, fewer than a dozen out of 96 suites were occupied, and in the adjoining Sun Village the ratio was likely the same. All the pools and tubs were mostly empty because they were cold. If it rained for more than a day, water would run into some rooms either under the hall door or patio door. In addition, the food at the Social was very poor. I'm not fussy - I'm used to oil rig camp food. The dinners at the Italian restaurant at Sun Village were good, but you had to walk to guest relations personally to book (and run the gamut of time share salespeople). The Malibu buffet, The Mexican and Thai restaurants were all very poor, and would likely even be shut down for health standards elsewhere. This was a "BYOB" resort as the bars had mostly local brew and only local beer. Very seldom did the pool waiters ever come by. Also, the activities staff at the beach only came by once in my seven days here. However, the timeshare salesmen were never far. The tennis courts were very nice, as were the grounds. However, there was nothing else here that a person would want to return to when you pay for and expect a five-star accommodation. |

We had an amazing vacation! Visited: December 2008 |

| We just got home from staying at the Golden Dolphin Villa. The Villa was amazing. The suites were all large and very comfortable with wonderful views. The staff couldn't have been any better. The chef Richard made us wonderful meals, and Oscar made sure we were never without a drink. Elvyn over saw everything - spa appointments, driving arrangements, excursions, and anything else you could possibly want or need. He is a very nice man who really seems to care about each of us. On the villa grounds there were beautiful gardens; a full sized baseball field where you can play a game against the staff; a very nice pool; horses to ride; a spa which offered amazing treatments; tennis courts; a putting green; and much, much more. If you are looking for a luxury vacation, this is the place to go. I look forward to returning in the future. |

We enjoyed it! Visited: July 2007 |

| This was probably the most enjoyable place we stayed in recent years. There were two sides to the resort, the Tropical side and the Carib side. We stayed at the Carib side. This was an older resort (maybe ten + years - just a guess), but it was well looked after. The beach and pool were great and fun. Bring your family here. If you like beaches and pools, you'll probably like it here. There was no supermarket nearby, so I don't know why the rooms come with kitchens. You're going to stay on site, and probably not leave until you head back to the airport. Go with the all-inclusive meal plan. It was worth it. We were very impressed with the restaurants. There were several of them, and all were good (except the American Steakhouse - you can skip that one - nothing special there). An upgraded resort was next door and within walking distance (Paradisus Palma Real). Take a trip over there a look around. The Melia Caribe Tropical was a three-star resort, and the Paradisus was a four-star (maybe five) resort. The restaurants in the Caribe Tropical were four-star. One bad thing was that we got hasseled on the beach by vendors. Some actually yelled at us if we didn't buy what they were selling (like Cuban cigars). Hopefully, the hotel got rid of these people. Other then that, it was great! We would go back. |

They made us stay until we paid them $1000. Visited: September 2008 |

| Do not stay in this resort! My boyfriend and I came here for our first vacation in September, and were less than impressed over the course of the stay. The food was greasy, the beach was tiny and unappealing, and the entertainment was almost nonexistent. Our room, on the other hand, was beautiful. However, when we went to check out (we had won a free week stay and were paying nothing), they informed us we owed them almost $1,000 for a "room upgrade". We refused to pay because we had never agreed to an upgrade and had not even been aware we were in a "spa" suite. We asked to see our check-in papers to prove that we agreed, and they "couldn't find them". To make matters worse, they called the police and told us we could not leave until we paid, despite the fact they had no proof of their accusation. Eventually, we paid the money so that we could leave the property. Never could I imagine such a dishonest and disorganized corporation. They practically held us hostage and threatened us with imprisonment if we didn't pay a charge that we had never agreed to in the first place. I couldn't believe the lack of corporate responsibility and highly advise everyone to stay away from this place unless you don't mind being mistreated. |

| We (four young guys from Germany) stayed at La Cana for three weeks. It became one of our best holidays ever. Do not trust everyone's posting. Especially the one who mentioned that things were never cleaned up. Our rooms were cleaned every day. Once a week there was a lady distributing steam in our rooms. I guess it was for disinfection. In fact, the staff was very friendly and helpful. They even helped us get the best price for renting bikes. Everything was great and beautiful. The food was delicious. But to be honest – there was no variety. Every dinner was nearly the same. |

| This was my third trip to the Dominican Republic and by far in accommodation, my best one yet. It felt like home away from home as advertised. The entire community was very well kept, and I guarantee that by the time you leave there, you would have made a couple more friends than you started the trip with. I would like to thank Nadia for all her help with planning this trip. I would like to thank Hada for making sure everything in the house was clean and spotless. I would also like to thank Danny for the long talks, and for making the whole experience as friendly and enjoyable as it could have been. |

| My friends and I love to travel, and we wanted to go somewhere really nice. We picked the Dominican Republic. We had such a great time. Nadia was wonderful to work with, as far as trying to plan and make arrangements for this trip. Hada was so welcoming, and Danny was just so nice. They all made sure we had everything we needed - no matter what it was. The property was very well kept, and the people in the area were just like family. It was my first time out of the country, and I really enjoyed myself. I almost cried when I had to leave . If you are looking for a nice, warm, welcoming place to stay - this would be the perfect choice. Once again, my friends and I had a ball. We look forward to coming back real soon. |
