From the moment you leave the airport, you await the limosine to take you to the resort not realising that you and 8 others are sharing. Once there, you are greeted with a lovely cocktail and asked to enjoy the ambience while they allocate your luggage etc.
During the course of your stay, it is true, you can enjoy everything they have to offer from watersports, volleyball, golf, tai-chi etc not forgetting spa treatments which is included in the price. However, I found the beauty therapists at the spa to be very unfriendly towards me and others. They basically could not wait for you to leave the room! When being massaged, I particularly found them to be extremelly heavy handed and had no knowledge of massage technique at all. The girls basically were not trained up good standard and also need to learn to be more personable towards customers. Having said that I noticed that they work very long hours without so much a break as other people told me and am aware of the stress this may cause. Management need to address these issues...
Apart from that, LaSource has a very informal and friendly atmosphere in general. Not sure if I will return there in particular again but in essence, it I can only say it was alright... |

My recommendation is to spend the money and go someplace nice. Ok, don't have the cash? Here is what you get - a 'resort' that is stunningly similar in ambience to your local Day's Inn, "spa treatments' done by poorly trained locals who don't give a damn about customer service, overbooked classes (have you tried doing yoga with 20 people crammed on a 12x 12 platform?), so-so food (this place is popular with Brits so that should tell you something..), advertised trips to local destinations (we tried anything we could to LEAVE) that never take place because the local reps don't bother to show up...

My wife and I went to La Source on a lark, "blind", never having met a soul who had been there before us. We simply could not have been more pleased. Our week was like visiting distant family, cousins who thought we needed a rest and tender, loving, non-intrusive care.
The staff simply could not do enough for us, whether at the beach, in the restaurants, at the bars, in the Administrative Offices, or at the Spa facilities. They anticipated our needs and addressed them before we could say a word, and everything was just so smooth and natural.
I promised myself not to tell another soul how wonderful La Source truly was, but I owe it to the wonderful people there not to withhold the truth: it was beyond description.

What a great resort! Visited: December 2002 |

Our first trip to LaSource was four years ago in December of 1998. Because we enjoyed it so much, we went back and found it to be even better than last time.
The food, although excellent last time, was improved by the addition of more dinner choices and "themed" lunch buffets with several items cooked to order. We did not find the snorkeling as good as it was the last time from the beach at LaSource. A hurricane, a rare occurrence so far south in the Caribbean, apparently had a negative effect on the reef near the shore.
Nearly all the guests we met at the resort were repeat customers. Almost everyone (including ourselves) went to LaSource originally because it was recommended by someone who had vacationed there.
The guests were mostly couples, mostly from the UK. On our last trip, we met only one other couple from North America, but this time, there were more Americans and Canadians. Now that Air Jamaica flies to Grenada, it's a little easier to get there from the states.
Ages varied widely, with guests in their 30s, 40s, and 50s predominating. People who are used to all-inclusive resorts like Club Med, where meals are social events and the staff encourages mixing, will find they have to exert a little effort to meet other guests at LaSource. The best way to do this is to join in activities like sports lessons and trips.
In summary, the food was great, the staff was friendly and helpful, the massage treatments were relaxing. I can't wait to go back. |

My wife and I just returned from LaSource and can't speak highly enough of the resort.
From the time we were pickecd up at the airport by the hotel's own stretch limo, to arrival with fresh cocktails, it just got better as the days went by.
I could not fault anything at all. I would give this place five stars for service, food, location and lastly, the full body treatments, which were included in the price. Well done, LaSource! |

I saw this resort in a travel brochure by accident when I was unable to book a flight for a repeat visit to the Maldive Islands. Grenada was my third choice and so I was not really expecting to be totally satisfied. How wrong I was!
From beginning to end we had a great time , lovely food, a caring
hotel manager, and good facilities. What a luxury to have a treatment of some kind every day.
We are presently looking to book a return to LaSource this August. |

We traveled as a group of 13. My wife-to-be and I could not have been more pleased with what turned out to be the most fantastic holiday we have ever been on.
The wedding co-ordinator, Richard, was eager to please at every turn, and every member of staff knew us as the wedding party. The wedding itself was handled brilliantly with every need catered for as if their lives depended on it. We were the only wedding in our two-week stay and were made to feel like royalty.
Please go and try this fabulous resort at least once. The food was excellent, the staff was wonderful, and the resort and rooms were beautiful. Any resort that picks you up in a white limousine from the airport as standard must be doing something right!
Also, the golf pro was fantastic as well. He was always helpful and talkative, and the sports facilities were brilliant, too.
We have also visited the Bahamas, Jamaica, Mexico, Cuba, Tobago, etc., and would say that this was probably the best for sheer pampering. Which brings me to the end of my review with a comment on the treatments - they were truly wonderful. Thank you, LaSource and thank you, Richard. Just a note - we were the first traditional Scottish wedding held at LaSource! |

I chose LaSource for my vacation holiday based on reviews I read on this website as well as other websites.
I will start with the positives. Some of the staff that work there are WONDERFUL! They were attentive, polite and professional. The Yoga and Meditation classes were great. They took place on a hill overlooking the ocean. It was also nice not to have to worry about money for food or drinks.
The island itself is beautiful. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND taking a full day tour of the island. You can see how green and lush it is away from the resort. Also, make sure you go to St. Georges on Saturday to shop in the town market.
The negatives were SERVICE! I had to ask repeatedly for things to be corrected: the lock on my door was broken, the tub in my room did not drain properly, when I asked for more towels, I was told to get them myself.
The food was ok. I don't travel to the Caribbean to eat the same stuff I eat at home. Unfortunately, they did not have any West Indian food except on Caribbean night. As a vegetarian, their website says that they will make meals to accommodate your dietary needs. When I spoke to the chef, I was told that "there were vegetarian choices everyday" however there were no protein choices just vegetables and fruit.
Their website also stated that its a good place for singles to travel. I met one other single woman traveling alone. Most of the other people were on their honeymoon or traveling couples.
I am used to places that if they are rated 4 and 5 stars, that the service is impeccable and you don't have the experiences that I did there.
I would say if you go there, take a friend because the guests there are not that friendly towards women traveling alone. I met a British family who were WONDERFUL and who I keep in touch with. This family told me that alot of the British are not that friendly and they tend to keep to themselves. I dont know if that is true of all British people when they vacation but I would say that it is true of this resort. I think the resort is about 98% British. I met 3 other Americans while I was there for a week.
It's a nice resort with alot of activities to do. There is plenty of food and drink. However, if you are expecting that extra touch of service, you will not find it at LaSource. |

It was just magical! Visited: May 2002 |

Where do we begin? Everything was wonderful - the transfer from the airport; cocktails upon arrival; the warm, no fuss welcome; superb cuisine; the excellent accommodation; the golden beach and clear sea; the sunsets.
And, not to mention all the staff and their attention to detail; the entertainment; all the activities available if you want them; the complete and utter indulgence of all the massage and pampering you could possibly want.
On top of this, Connie, the wedding co-ordinator, arranged a day we will never forget! It was indeed our own piece of paradise. It was magical in every sense.
If you want a relaxing, top quality spoiling, this is the place to be. Thanks LaSource. |

An outstanding value! Visited: April 2002 |

Being Club Med customers for many years, my wife and I wanted to continue with the "all-inclusive" concept for our next visit to the Caribbean. We were pleasantly surprised by LaSource.
The rooms were large and pleasant. We did get an oceanview room with a wonderful panoramic view (even all the way to St.Georges (the capital). Two areas of caution, however: 1) the bathrooms were built for tall people and 2) get the oceanview room in the front building - the building in the back required lots of walking up a hill and steps.
My wife and I thought the food was outstanding. Dinner would rival many five-star establishments we have been to in quality, presentation, and service. There were plenty of new choices each day - only the breakfast menu remained the same. It was good that the food quality was high because there was only one restaurant outside the grounds that you could get to without a taxi.
If you like scuba diving, the facility was well set up. All equipment was furnished (or you could bring your own) - no extra cost. The dive boat went out two times daily to different sites. Typically, deep dives were in the morning with shallower ones for folks with less experience in the afternoon. Visiting the 600-foot Bianco C was a blast at 125 ft. The dive boat held about eight. Generally, the dive sites were okay, but not great. Be sure to work with C.J. and Adrian.
Every day there was a new activity schedule. One could go power walking, play golf, learn fencing, or attend the spa. I did not think the spa was very good (I had two massages), but my wife liked it. It seemed to be frequented much more by the women than men.
The beach was about 100 yards long, with soft sand. Trees were there for shade and there were plenty of recliners. The pool was great. There was also sailing and windsurfing available.
The staff was attentive and friendly (unlike other resorts in the Caribbean we have visited). The rooms were kept really clean with nice touches like turning down the bed at night. The staff really did seem to understand that they are in the tourist business.
The service was always quick. This started from the moment we were picked up at the airport (only 10 minutes away) to when we left. The guests were about 80% British with 10% German and 10% Americans. We had no problem in meeting new people!
They offered low-key, good entertainment each night with local performers (i.e. singers, steel drum band, etc). It was not the place for you if you are looking for late night action.
Other recommendations: take the all day tour of Grenada and see the nutmeg and the rum factories.
All in all, it was a great place to relax. Be sure to put it on your list of places to visit! |

My husband and I throughly enjoyed our stay at LaSource.
Our room was on the first floor looking out at the ocean and the views were to die for. The beach had the cleanest, clearest water I have ever seen in the Caribbean.
The food at all of the restuarants was excellent and the afternoon teas offered wonderful English pasteries! There was nothing they had missed and the spa treatments that were included in the price were the icing on the cake!
We plan on returning soon! |

We both went here to relax, get away from our jobs back in England, and the hotel did a magnificent job in making sure that we did.
We found that there was always something to do if you wanted to, or if you really wanted to do just nothing then you could too.
We went for 2 weeks, but really wished we had gone for 3 weeks to experience everything and still relax.
The staff was superb—always willing to help you out and always making a special effort to say hello and get to know you.
I would definitely go back there, but would like to try different countries first!

The week I spent at La Source was superb.
I thought they had great facilities, a lovely beach, excellent food and wine and a full range of activities—all optional (with no pressure to join in if you just want to sit by the pool and relax). It’s all-inclusive, which really means all-inclusive and there’s great people looking after you.
Scuba Diving was a real buzz, as were the other water sports. Water/beach volleyball became daily features of my stay (as did my daily relaxation treatment - massages and reflexology sessions have never felt so good).
My room was clean, well equipped and maintained to the highest standards daily. Nothing was too much for the staff employed there if you asked for help and any special needs were dealt with promptly.
All of the staff was friendly and helpful. I was treated with courtesy and friendship at all times - from the initial greeting from the receptionist (who shoved a cocktail into my hand whilst I checked in) to the bodyguards (La Sources name for their fitness instructors) to the bar staff and other people running the resort. People like CJ (who did the Scuba Diving) and Kevon (who served the best cocktails all day long) ensured I had a good time.
If you are looking for a holiday that will place you in a town with all the local noises, culture and novelty of a foreign country on your doorstep, then this place is not for you. If you want luxury, relaxation and great service (with the option of trips to local places to experience Grenada's natural beauty and friendly culture), then you will not be disappointed.
This is a holiday where you will be looked after and will experience an environment where you quickly feel any stress you have drain away. The biggest compliment you can pay a holiday resort is if you go back again and again. Most of the other guests I spoke to during my stay had been there before and for some it was their 4th or 5th stay. I will be joining them by going back there whenever I need some winter sun or need to un-wind and de-stress.
Well done!

Just returned from getting married at La Source and the entire holiday, all 18 days of it, was excellent.
The staff at LaSource are tripping over themselves to be helpful. My advice is to get involved with some of the activites and that way the staff really get to know you and will always come and say hello or join you for lunch - things like that.
The rooms are large and clean with king size bed in some.
The food is excellent, especially the A La Carte in the evenings - you really can't fault the quality or presentation at all.
LaSource will offer you everything you want from a holiday - we would readily go back and we met lots of people on return journeys and lots of others intending to go back very soon. |

The Best! Visited: November 1999 |

My husband and I have been to LaSource seven times and have stayed for as long as 18 nights, and never had "lousy" service. There was not one staff member that ever appeared to have an attitude or seem unfriendly at any time. As a matter of fact, they all seemed to go out of their way to make the guests as happy and content, while on vacation.
We have met many people from all over the world, and we have stayed in touch, with cards, letters and photos. We have also brought friends to LaSource with us and they also had a great time. My husband passed away in January of 1999. We already had plans to return to LaSource in November of 1999. My plans remain and I am bringing five other friends with me. I know that there will be many of the staff as well as guests that will ask about him. He will be there in spirit.
I am looking forward to a very peaceful and relaxing vacation! The island is beautiful and so is the resort! |

Top notch resort with lots to offer. Visited: October 1999 |

My partner and I stayed in late October 1999 and were thoroughly impressed by the hotel. We both took the opportunity to sample the delights of the Oasis treatments everyday, and while Andy took his advanced diver's course I learned to waterski from scratch in 5 minutes! There is no pressure to participate in the activities, though for sport junkies like me there was plenty to do.
The food was excellent, a compliment coming from the fussiest eater in the world, although there were never enough scones at tea time ! While we have previously said that we would return to resorts we have visited around the world, we have never said we would revisit a hotel UNTIL NOW! If you have the cash it's worth every penny, but a week would not be enough - stay for two or longer (especially if you are coming from Europe).
The rain that comes in October can be heavy but it's unusual for it to rain a whole day. The proximity to the airport is not a bother and indeed is a massive plus - we checked our bags in for our flight 6 hours early to secure good seats and returned to the hotel to enjoy the hospitality until boarding time! Go and Enjoy La Source. |

I thought it was rubbish. Visited: November 1999 |

I expected this place to be great - it was not. They watered down the alcohol. They also tried to brag about their local beer called "caribeer" all the time. I think it was 0%. Not that I'm a big drinker or anything, but a real beer would have been appreciated.
They had a gym, but was always occupied by a local muscle man/attendant who made fun of you if you struggle with any weights. All the staff seemed to saunter around like they were really something.
They also had a shop that sold Mars Bars and Snickers at ten times the regular price.
The cleaners were grumpy to me if I was not out the room at 10:00 am. Then, they just didn't bother cleaning it.
I thought the treatments were lame. All the people applying them were grumpy and acted like they would rather be elsewhere.
The food was awful. It started off okay, then they started putting out left overs. I mean, how much plantain can one eat?
Also, the beach had hawkers that never gave us a break, trying to sell local spices.
I would avoid this place. |

I just returned from having my honeymoon at LaSource. It was everything we hoped it would be. The room was gorgeous, the beach and property were beautiful and meticulously kept, the food and service were wonderful, and to top it all off, the island is spectacular. We had no complaints except that the laundry service was slow. I highly recommend LaSource to anyone who wants to go there. We hope to go back very soon! |

The staff at La Source know when to intrude and when to leave alone. If you don't want to participate, then don't, maybe you just want to catch the sun. If you do then carry on. This was the most relaxing, and busy holiday I have had in years. The food was excellent, the mosquitos were a problem, but controllable with the expert knowledge of the staff. I know that I will be returning in the next few months.
My first visit enabled me to understand the culture of the locals and work out which activities I wanted to participate in. My second visit will mean that I get maximum benefit out of the options. The hotel staff were some of the most helpful and friendly that I have ever encountered on holiday and from a single persons perspective, the staff worked very hard to ensure that I felt a part of the fun, with a capital F. |
