Hotel Oloffson is a great place. Visited: October 2006 |

I have stayed at the Oloffson many times over the last 22 years. I have never had a bad stay or met a unhappy traveler. It is a truly unique place and has changed little since Graham Greene.
Your fellow guests are likely to be interesting. I have met diplomats, rock stars, actors, anthropologists and journalists. Great conversations are part of the experience.
Richard, the owner, is shy but friendly. The staff is very accommodating. |

Le Plaza, Haiti traveler review
This was not a Holiday Inn. Visited: May 2007 |

This property was a decent place to stay. It was right in the heart of Port au Prince, and had a nice pool, a decent restaurant and a bar.
However, about seven or eight years ago, this property was put on "probation" by the Holiday Inn franchises for not meeting standards. Six months later, they were re-evaluated and failed again! At this point, the property had six weeks to remove the Holiday Inn name. So, be advised before you get here, it is not a Holiday Inn anymore.
A good point to this hotel is that, directly across the street, there are vendors selling Haitian paintings, crafts, carvings, ironworks, etc, yes right across the street, like three big displays.
A down-side to this property is that in front of the hotel there are some "beggars" who will literally pester you to death for money. So, beware of that. I found it quite annoying after a rather short period of time. |

We stayed at this hotel for ten days. The only problem was that at some point, we had to leave!
They had a decent casino. It wasn't great, but decent. They also had three bars, great pools, and a great restaurant.
It was just a nice place to stay. |

The owner didn't seem to care less about our comfort - or anything else for that matter.
There are many nicer places to stay in Haiti besides the Oloffson. |

It was my first time visiting a hotel in Haiti. My friend was staying here for ten days with her husband, and I was visiting her every day because I loved the atmosphere and the view of the hotel/apartment.
The only thing I did not enjoy was the pool because of its depth. I will recommend it to my friends and family. My husband and I will stay here on our next visit to Haiti, which will be soon.
Ideal Villa, thank you for letting me visit your secret garden. I enjoyed it very much. |

This was my first time staying in a hotel in Haiti, and my friends and I enjoyed it very much. We rented an apartment.
The whole place was lovely, the employees were very friendly, and the place was very clean.
Two things that I dind't like about the hotel were the parking space and the pool. I don't know how to swim, and the pool was too deep for my kids and me.
I will recommend it to all my friends and family, and I will stay here in the future. Keep up the good work! |

Ideal Villa Hotel has been a second home for me for over 25 years. I have seen the hotel grow from a small inn.
They offer good rooms, food, service, and decor. The only complaint I have is that the employees should be paid a better rate. That is one big example why Haiti is so poor. |

I have traveled very much and I chose to get married in Haiti because I wanted to spend my honeymoon in Moulin Sur Mer.
It was an enchanting stay. The room could have used more towels, though. The staff was very nice. The food was superb and the beach, Oh the beach! I can't wait to get back there. |

faded glory Visited: September 2004 |

This hotel used to be the best in Haiti during the glory days of the Duvalier regime. Now it is worn out and needing repair. Staff is friendly, but hotel lacks almost all modern amenities and comforts. Door locks / patio locks unsecure. No room safe. Windows easily accessed from outside with no locks. No cable TV. Worn out furniture and bed sheets. Extremely limited dining menu. Out of bottled water for days at a time. Owned by an elderly French couple who have let the place slowly go down and fall into disrepair. A much, much, much better choice (for about the same money) is the Hotel Montana (currently the best in Port Au Prince)...which is paradise compared to the Christopher. |

Moulin Sur Mer is one of the most romantic places on earth! I bet you'll love it.
I recently spent a week here, and I didn't want to come back home.
The staff was very nice, and always smiling. The grounds were always clean and the food was just great! I cannot wait to go back. |

On the third of January 2004, after my wedding was over, I spent a splendid night in this hotel with my beautiful wife Nahomie. It was a dream for us to be at the Villa St. Louis Hotel.
It was a beautiful place, and in a nice area. Also, they provided good reception, and the service was very fast here.
They had a very nice pool, and also a perfect area to stay if you wanted to hide.
The only thing I wish was that I could have made a reservation directly online. |

The hotel was nice. However, I was nearly mugged on several occasions while touring the country. Haiti did not seem to be a very welcoming place to vacation. |

This was my second visit to Moulin. Unfortunately because of time, we were only able to stop and enjoy a 1/2 day there having lunch. We each enjoyed a fantastic meal. The wait staff was pleasant. In fact everyone we met made us feel very relaxed. A few of the people with me had never been there before. I purposely brought them here to get a feel for it. IT WORKED! We plan to spend a day or two at Moulin in May 2003. If I had a complaint it would be that I have sent several emails to find out rates and have never received an response. Can't wait to visit again. |

My husband and I enjoyed Moulin Su Mer. The food was fantastic, the staff was very reliable, and our rooms were very creatively appointed.
Honestly, the only input I would have for the owners would be to have more lively music and entertainment. At times it was very quiet, it made me just want to stay in my room. Other than that, everything else was excellent.
My husband and I plan to return. One last thing - I like to shop for souvenirs from places I've been. I was glad that Moulin Sur Mer had a gift shop. I brought home a coffee mug from their gift shop and I added it to my sixteen-mug collection from all the Caribbean islands I've visited. |

This was a great place - it was clean and the restaurant was open late. Even though it was right in front of the Champs de Mars, it felt really safe. |

Le Plaza is a nice respite from Port-au-Prince. Visited: October 2003 |

I stayed at the Le Plaza for two days in September and two days in October. It was clean and offered a safe swimming pool (pool water was filtered, unlike most pools in Haiti), air conditioning, and safe water.
The staff was courteous and did all they could to make our stay pleasant. This hotel would be a three- or four-star rating in the US, but by Port-au-Prince standards, it was definitely a five! It was a true respite from the rest of Port-au-Prince! |

I would recommend this hotel to anyone. |
