We have been to other resorts, and this has been the best.
We can't wait to go back, and we will some day!
Everything was first class all the way. |

Couples was beautiful. The staff was they best we've seen. They treat you like family. The food was great and the bartenders will make you anything you want. Couples offers more things to do than you can fit into a week’s vacation. I can't wait to go back. |

A wonderful resort with the best staff Visited: March 2001 |

We thought this was our best vacation ever. We've been to other all-inclusive resorts both here in the US and in Mexico. Couples Ocho Rios was better than any other resort. The food is great and the bar staff will make you anything you want. Even the maids and gardeners greet you as you walk by. The grounds are lush and there are even secluded hot tubs for 2. I can't wait to go back! |

This was the first vacation we have ever taken without the kids. It was the best four days ever. There was great food, entertainment and relaxation. The drive to and from was a dreadful and frightening experience. I will definitely go back, but will fly to and from Ocho Rios. |

Pictures just don't show the true beauty Visited: September 2000 |

We arrived on September 6th and departed on the 10th, 2000. The staff were just great. My wife and I had always wanted to visit Jamaica and my travel agent advised me Couples was the place to stay. I am so glad we stayed here.
We felt like we were around our family because the staff made us feel so comfortable. They also had so much to do that we were only able to do a few of the things available.
The presentation of the food at the beach buffet on our night of arrival was something I would imagine in Hawaii.
We met lots of friends and will definitely go back. I would recommend this to any couple who wants a romantic yet entertaining getaway in a paradise. |

I haven't been all around the world and stayed at many lavish hotels, but I did get to stay at Couples, Ocho Rios, and it was terrific. We had so much fun. Jamaica has got to be one of the greatest places on earth! The people and there culture are so unique and interesting. Although you’ll notice a lot of trash littering the streets as you take the bus to the resort, once you’re on Couples’ property, there's nothing but beautiful landscaping. The Italian restaurant was so good that I crave it at least once a week now.
The activities were all pretty cool, but the alcohol was cooler. I now have a newfound love for Red Stripe and the mixed drinks the hard working bartenders made were all wonderful! Nothing like having a mixed drink with some bananas, raspberries, and Baileys Irish Cream while sitting in the Jamaican sun.
Our room was fantastic with a stunning view that we didn't even pay for. We were upgraded to an Oceanview Room when we arrived at the resort after we had originally booked a Mountainview Room, which was a pleasant surprise. Do not use the in room phones. I’m the idiot; I talked to my parents in Illinois for well under 10 minutes and left with a $26 phone bill!
My wife and I were honestly ready to get out of Jamaica on our last day. The two-hour bus trip back to Montego Bay airport is so depressing! And when you are at the airport it's just as bad. Ten months later, we can't wait to step back on Jamaican soil.
Go to Jamaica. Go to Ocho Rios. And go to Couples! We will probably be visiting yearly, requesting our Honeymoon Room nonetheless.

Excellent resort for honeymoon and/or wedding Visited: November 1999 |

My husband and I got married at Couples Ocho Rios on November 10, 1999. From the moment we arrived at this resort, we were made to feel as though this was our home.
The food was absolutely fabulous and there were many different restaurants to choose from depending on what you felt like eating. The French restuarant is a must at least once on your stay (dressy outfit required). This was our first trip to Jamaica and our choice of resort could not have been better. From the wonderful food, friendly staff and very clean and spacious rooms, this resort was all we had expected and more.
This resort really caters to couples and is very romantic. The grounds are very lush with tropical plants, palm trees, two wedding gazebos, a mini jungle (complete with birds that are caged of course), jacuzzis for two hidden amongst the grounds, a piano bar and more.
Couples have a choice of many activities to participate in free of charge. There are hobiecats, kayaks, sailboats, etc. Free snorkelling trips go out four times a day and you can use their flippers, snorkels, and flutterboards if you don't have your own. Diving trips and fishing trips can be arranged at the sports desk on beach. I believe fishing charters were quite pricey - there is a fisherman (Silvan) who does not work for the resort but will take you out. You have to negotiate the price, but resort knows him and my husband went out with him a few times.
Couples sets up a beautiful wedding for you and not much preparation is required ahead of time except arranging the wedding through your travel agent. The wedding coordinator, Celia Thompson, is an exceptional person. She will arrange your service when you get to the resort, help you select flowers, music, wedding location, pictures, video, minister, champagne, and reception. By the way, the package we got here in Canada included the minister's fee, champagne, flowers, service, reception complete with champagne at 10:00 AM and music. We had to pay for the 24 pictures and the wedding video we got for about $350 USD. (quality of both - excellent).
This resort really caters to couples with hamocks for two along the beach, lush tropical grounds, jacuzzis for two hidden amongst the grounds, two wedding gazebos, and it is not noisy at night with loud music.
We're looking forward to returning to this wonderful paradise in the very near future!! |

A couples' dream Caribbean getaway! Visited: November 1999 |

My husband and I were married here in a private, beautiful ceremony overlooking the sea. It was so intimate and personal—the best memory in my life. I had my hair done at the resort salon and they put fresh flowers in it. We also enjoyed the half-hour massage. The food was exquisite, whether it was Jerk Chicken right on the beach, or the elegant cuisine at the French restaurant. Our wine glasses were never less than half-full!
The hotel and restaurant staff is amazing; they are there for your every need! We felt so welcome. The grounds are beautiful, and we really loved the whirlpools, which are scattered throughout the resort.
We can't wait to go back, maybe for an anniversary in the future! It was the best decision my husband and I made for our beautiful wedding and an amazing honeymoon. |

I would not recommend getting married here Visited: March 1999 |

My new husband and I were married at Couples in Ocho Rios in March, 1999. After many attempts, including writing, calling, and e-mail, we still have not received our marriage license as of November 6th. We were required to pay a license fee at the time we were married and still no license, explanation, or refund!! As a result, our "so-called" $3500.00 marriage is not legal in our country. WHAT A LET DOWN! |
