I would recommend this place for budget minded travelers.Visited: October 2008

My wife, father, best friend and I stayed here for two nights. It was my second time staying here (the first was about ten or 11 years ago). We enjoyed our stay.
The price, $75 per night, was very reasonable. The room was clean and well kept. There were a few minor things - like the AC looking like it was on its last leg (but it worked fine); and the light in the closet being out of order. However, on the whole, there was nothing wrong with the place.
The staff was courteous and friendly, and the laundry service washed a good load of clothes and got them back to me in about three hours.
We had a room with a balcony, which faced the beach. The door to the balcony would not lock, but there were bars on the outside of the balcony so intruders wouldn't have been able to get in from that side anyway.
I recommend this place for anyone looking for a relatively cheap place to stay during the off-peak season.

This was a good deal - and clean.Visited: May 2006

I recently stayed at Foote Prints for two days, and found it to be simple, clean, and a great deal. My room was very clean, had air conditioning and TV, and had a view of the water.
The beach was pretty small, but it worked. The restaurant/cafe was cute, in the shade, and overlooked the water. This was a great place to stay if you need a base camp in Negril while you take day trips, or if you're invited to a wedding at one of the nearby all-inclusive resorts and prefer to do something less pricy.

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in January. Our room was extremely small and dark very misleading from the photos we saw online. The restaurant is pricey and the service abysmal! Whenever we went to the beach two gentlemen, who I am not sure if they are affiliated with the hotel or not, pestered us constantly. Even after being told that we were NOT interested in whatever they were peddling or selling. If you are traveling to Negril for for the first time, save your money and stay somewhere else.

This place is the most badly run hotel i have ever visited.
It lived up to the previous reviews. We had no hot water for 8 days. I mentioned it to the unfriendly receptionists who said it would be sorted tommorow. Of course tommorow never comes!! The restaurant had very nice food but the service was very poor we waited 75 mins for a dinner. Breakfast was poorly run with 1 waiter the hot drinks were cold and bread was often mouldy!! The rooms were basic but were clean but the maid stole all our sweets!! The manageress was very rude to both staff and guests and didnt mind shouting at her staff in front of guests. We didnt see her smile once just eat!! The jacuzzi was out of action for the first 12 days of our stay and was green with mould however it has now been cleaned but it still feels grimey inside. A lot of guests when we were there requested to be moved over to daniel beach village as they were so appalled by foote prints. Staff were often begging for money and even items of clothing (my shoes). DONT BE FOOLED BY THE NAME THIS PLACE IS LESS THAN 1 STAR.

This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in.Visited: July 2004

My room was too small, we changed three times. Also, the handle to the bacony door was hanging by a screw, which eventually fell off.
The maids seemed like they were over worked, the kitchen staff was slow and couldn't seem to ever bring the correct order from the kitchen. In addition, they weren't courteous. I also thought the desk clerks were unfriendly.
This was my fifth time to Jamaica, but my worst hotel stay ever. The photos were nothing like being here in person. I think it should be closed until the very neccessary improvements have been made. I had a horrible experience.

I have been to Negril ten times and stayed at a different hotel each time. Foote Prints - by far - was one of the worse and most badly run down hotels on Seven Mile. I would rate it a -0.
We had to change rooms three times. We found the smells and condition of the room to be terrible. The pictures of the hotel they publish are not accurate at all.
If you don't care where you sleep and what you eat or what time you eat..this is the place. We had to request a fan, because the AC was so weak, it was barely working. When it rained, we couldn't sit on the balconies, because they were so cracked they leaked and you would get soaked.
As for the kitchen - the objective tof wearing white chefs coats is to reflect hygiene and the quality of food being prepared. We thought the cooks were a filthy mess. The lack of service was so frustrating that we started going elsewhere for meals.
The jacuzzi was filthy, green and icky. The security guard - Michael - seemed to constantly stalk my daughter and hustle every taxi driver or friend who came to the hotel, making them pay to call our rooms or park to wait in the gate.
We witnessed a supervisor lady constantly scream and curse at the staff...with no regards to professionalism and with no regard to how uncomfortable it made the guests feel.
Air Jamaica should eliminate offering this property as part of their package. My next review will be to Air Jamaica as well.

This place is the worst place i've seen in all of Negril. Don't know why the place is still open. The hottub can't be used and doesn't look like its been used in 20 years. THe rooms are all bad, a/c do not work, windows are letting bugs in, balcony's are collapsing. DO NOT STAY HERE

The hotel was very inexpensive, but for obvious reasons. The room they gave us at first had no air-conditioning, a twin bed, and a broken lock on the door. The staff was very helpful with changing the room and we were put in a nice room with a balcony. The jaccuzi was on the restaurant's roof and was closed the whole time we were there. Location was great-right in the middle of everything and the beach was beautiful. All in all, it was an okay place, but if u plan to be at the hotel alot, I would suggest a different place.

My family loves this place.
We started coming to this resort five years ago and will never change.
They have the best staff and the rooms are great. The staff at the bar is also wonderful. I can't wait to return in August.

A reasonably priced, strategically located hotel.Visited: March 2002

Overall, Foote Prints met my expectations. My friends and I were looking for a moderately priced hotel which was strategically located on the seven-mile beach.
Foote Prints provided basic lodging (nothing fancy) for reasonable rates and included a restaurant on the premises to boot, which was nice. My only problem with the property was lack of window netting which resulted in bugs, mosquitoes and flying insects in the room.
Otherwise, it was a great hotel. A special "hello" to Cheryl, Vincent and Peter (restaurant), Neil (our cab driver) and Lionel (security).

Our 4th stay! Great service, fine locationVisited: April 2001

We have stayed at Footprints for the last 4 years, and will continue.
While the hotel is over 20 years old, it's gardens and grounds are extremely well kept and the facilities are generally well maintained by Jamaican standards. Expect a good deal, and friendly staff that have all been there for years, don't expect the Hilton (you know, like they have in places like Baltimore).
A good deal, with reliable, non-threatening people, alot of fun, and R&R. I haven't seen or heard of anything better for the money in Negril.

As a whole I had an amazing time in Jamaica as well as at Foote Prints. Yet I can't deny the service we got here was horrible. We got the wrong room, with a leaking sink, a toilet that didn't flush, no trash can, and wallpaper coming off the walls. The management was quite disagreeable when we mentioned our dissatisfaction because they were all booked and we had no choice but to stay in that room.
Negril is an amazing place and you will have fun regardless, but if comfort is what you need, Foote Prints is not for you.

What else to say other than I've found my paradise on earth to spend my vacations with friends, collegues and family. We have all been totally amazed by the location and the staff's genuine hospitality.
I've been coming to Negril and Foote Prints Hotel twice a year since spring 1997, and will be coming back every year in the future as well along with those who have been there before and those who can't wait to experience the beautiful island of Jamaica!!!

Foote Prints is in just the right spot on the beach. The food is great, the bartenders are friendly and you get great service. The clubs are in walking distance as well as other restaurants if you would like to venture around and town is only a short taxi ride. I highly recommend it.
We were in Jamaica again in December, but we didn't get a chance to stay at Foote Prints, however, we were there every day for lunch and dinner. Say hello to Carlinton, Hakeem, Cheryl and Lecia. You guys are the best and are always smiling.

Perfect vacationVisited: January 2000

Foote Prints was an excellent resort to spend a week at. Never having taken a trip like this, I was a bit apprehensive as to how the stay would be. Everyone at the resort was fabulous. The hotel itself probably wasn't the most luxurious (not that it was bad, it was nice) in Negril, but the staff made up for it. What a genuinely nice and helpful bunch of people.
Looking through the prices of the other resorts, I would say that staying at Foote Prints was a real bargain. The location on the beach was even perfect. It was nearly exactly in the middle of the 7 mile stretch, which meant it was never too far to get anywhere.
Overall, a great place, I highly recommend it.

What can I say about an adopted family of high quality that thinks of nothing but your wants & needs when you need to escape the daily grind of trials & tribulations of Life. I've known & loved the Foote family for over 14 years, and would venture a wild guess of at least over 50 trips to Negril, staying all but maybe two times at Foote Prints.
I've probably been responsible for dragging at least 75 friends with me to this slice of heaven on earth, always knowing, no matter how much Negril grows over the years, you can still capture the old Island feeling preserved in this wonderful spot.
