My wife and I have been to Hedo twice before and we were very disappointed by our stay last week. In our room the air conditioner had only two settings jet engine arctic blast and off...the control panel had been replaced with a light switch. I would have liked to have called the front desk to complain but...the phone jack had been ripped out of the wall. We walked up to the front desk to request a maintenance person to come to the room.

Why didn't you call from the room?
I told the about the phone.

When the maintenance crew came to the room I was told "It work mon" by a maintenance man who flicked the light switch on and started the jet engine hidden in the wall and informed me that the control unit was broken (not true, it was gone) and that we could open our door to the beach if we wanted fresh air .

I asked him to open the door to the beach....

and it popped off the track because no one had ever thought to lubricate it or clean the sand out. I asked if he could help me find a table fan which he could not.

Back down to the front desk again....
Why didn't you call from the room?
I told them about the phone again

My wife asked for a fan...
and had to threaten the night assistant manager with our immediate departure to get one.

Fan arrives in room half hour later.
Room floods two days later from leak in room above (watched maid walk around water on floor during day).

Back down to the front desk again...
Why didn't you call from room?
I told them about the phone again.

During our stay my wife and I (and many other people) saw a rat run through the dining room (I have worked in urban scrap yards most of my adult life and know too much about rats..this was not a mongoose). When I told the woman at the front desk about it she did not even pretend to be surprised.

The day we were liberated I shared all this information with a management team member she also did not bat an eye about the running rodent in the dining room.

She offered us two free nights which I viewed as more of a threat than a reward for what we were put through.

I would only recommend this resort to my worst enemy

If you would love to feel and live hedonistically free for awhile, Hedonism II is the right place for you.

With the right attitude and an open mind, Hedonism II can be a lifetime experience. I had a blast, and I fell in love with myself again.

I am certainly going back soon!

Hedonism II was a non-stop party full of surprises. It had me feeling like a teenager ready for fun at all times.

I will be back year after year. The staff treated me like a queen. I loved Ray-Ray and the party crew.

Oh, and you must have an open mind to stay at Hedo. You never know what to expect here, or what to expect from yourself.

My husband and I loved this place. We've been twice already and can't wait to go back.

The atmosphere is definitely laid back. It may take a while for the timid of nature to warm up to all the possibilities this place has to offer. But once you do, you'll be rewarded 50-fold.

The naughty activities are readily accessible, but not flaunted in your face if you don't want then to be. The 'prude' side isn't really prude at all, but really just a little more conservative. And all the guests are extremely friendly, as is the staff.

The food, while not five-star quality, is quite tasty and varied. The alcohol is free flowing, and available all day and night. There are several pools to choose from. And the beach is one of the best in the world.

The best part of this entire vacation is the mirror on the bedroom ceiling! Definitely an inspiring experience. Everybody should go, and then you'll never want to go anywhere else, except maybe Hedo III!

This is the most beautiful, wonderful and exciting place I've ever been. It topped the Bahamas, where I thought was the greatest before.

I definitely will return.

5.0 stars There is too much to enjoy in just three days! Visited: August 2003

My group vacation to Hedo II in Negril in August was a blast. Having been to Hedo III, I was eager to find out which of the two Hedos was better. So I had high expectations. And they were absolutely fullfilled.

Although the layout and design of the property lagged behind that of Hedo III (which had color-coordinated blocks in bright colors), the place was still well kept. The rooms were not impressive by any standards, but they were nicely kept as well. And besides, the fact that my room window opened right onto the nude beach made up a little for the uninspiring decor. The mirrowed ceilings added a nice twist as well. Lay flat on your back and look up at the reflection of yourself and then...

I digress. Now where was I? Oh yeah, the food was plentiful. There was a great mix. And there was lots to drink, too. Try the "Sex on the Beach" if you ever happen to visit.

By way of entertainment, there were activities galore. You are limited only by your willingness to try them or whether you happen to be on the nude or prude side of things. Nudists seemed a lot more eager to get involved in everything.

The disco was pretty cool. I had a great time there. On the second night of my stay I performed a strip tease and then followed it up that same night with some four hours of shirtless dancing till 4:30 am. Considering all that, who cares if there were no TVs in the rooms. I certainly didn't. I only used my room for showering. Great fun.

There was mid-day entertainment to accompany lunch and there was also some sort of cabaret show around dinner time. Standard of delivery varied, but all-in-all provided good entertainment. During my stay I had dinner while enjoying the Miss Jamaica Bikini pageant. Also, the gym was pretty well equipped and sports activities were in no short supply. It was a great vacation.

Singles, like myself, might find themsleves being a little bit disappointed by the fact that most of the guests were couples. For a resort with such a party reputation I did expect to see a lot more single, good-looking people. I did manage to meet a couple of interesting people. Still, it would help to go in a group if you are single. It was great fun, though. I loved it!

2.0 stars Horrible - for Swingers ONLY! Visited: June 2003
Posted by melaniejane
As a travel agent, we went to do a site inspection of the property. I am not a prude. I am in my early thirties. The rooms were filthy, front desk staff rude and unprofessional, food barely decent. The Nudes did NOT stay on their side of the beach and were overtly forcing themselves on the prudes. As an agent, I would NOT recommend this property to those who do not want to be propositioned every 2 minutes! This resort is really only for swingers - a swingers paradise. Both worlds (prudes and nudes) collide far too often, rooms were crappy. In the 3 days I was there, I could not get a wash cloth! Rooms not clean -Yuk. Grand Lido next door was much nicer. If you are looking for nice accommodations with adult entertainment, this is not it. I laughed out loud when I read in an other review on this page that the circus entertainment was bad....it REALLY was awful. I stayed as a guest free - you could not pay me to stay there. The drive by motels in the city do a much better job on adult entertainment. At least for $50 you can get clean linens and some porno on TV...no TV in rooms at Hedo. There is not that much screwing happening in the world, that would prevent me from watching a little CNN in the morning - GEEZ!

3.0 stars The rooms were cheesy, but the atmosphere was excellent. Visited: April 2003

The great time I had at Hedonism II more than made up for the cheesy rooms. I walked in the room and was instantly transported to the 1970s. They were awful, but the service and the waitstaff were excellent.

If you want a five-star room, go elsewhere. But, if you want a good time, stay at Hedo II.

I was a little disappointed in the way the hotel looked, but overall, I had a good time. I will go back again when they update and remodel the rooms.

There are no words to describe Hedo II. The best one can do is try to imagine the feeling of freedom, naughty and nice, spoiled, devilish or wicked, closeness and fun, and times that all by 10.

Thank you to all the staff and the wonderful people we met.

Hedonism II is totally about the guests and their interactions. Don't go expecting five-star anything. This place is a party that starts when you wake up. Don't expect to get much rest unless you are on the prude side.

Many negative reviews we had read were about having no TV and the food. We didn't miss the TV, and we were always stuffed. It was not gourmet food, but it was not bad at all. I do not eat pork or red meat and had enough to eat each and every meal!

The only thing that really needed revamping was the entertainment. We were hoping for a lot of reggae, but found that the music was exactly what we left hearing over and over in New York. AAAAArrrgh!

The shows also left a lot to be desired. For the first time, it was good to see, but after that, there was no need to see them again. The circus was worse than you could imagine.

This resort is not for the faint-hearted. If you can be offended by different sights, choose another place. We're heading back this October!

2.0 stars Save your time and money for Hedo III Visited: September 2002

Hedonism II has simply become a tired and worn-out property governed by bad management. The new upgrades have done nothing to improve on old buildings and rooms better suited as backwater motel rooms found along U.S. Interstates. Though some staff members still display a playful and hard working ethic, most have become rude with poor attitudes. This can only be a direct reflection on the management of this property.

Upon arrival, I was coarsely greeted, then had my bags transferred to my room. Unfortunately my bags did not arrive at my room for another hour, and they had also been gone through during that time. The dorm style rooms have not been upgraded since my last visit some years past, and they show it. Neither my air conditioner nor sink worked, the shower delivered no hot water, and only half my lights worked. But why the worry -- I was at Hedo II for sun, libations, recreation and socializing! Unfortunately, all I ended experiencing were disappointments one after another. To list just a few: Filthy pool and Jacuzzi with dirty towels heaped in piles on chairs; disco bartender fast asleep, (we made our own drinks); security personnel asleep on beach chairs or reeking of ganja smoke; consequently, local hustlers allowed on the property to solicit; spoiled food at dinner and maggots in the fruit at breakfast, (honest!); broken everything from gym equipment to lounge chairs; etc., etc.

These issues were brought up with management, yet none of them were either acknowledged or taken care of. After two days of this almost laughable experience I asked to be transferred to any of the other Super Club properties, PLEASE! The Super Club home office finally arranged for me to be transferred to Grand Lido Negril across the road from Hedo II. A difference of night and day.

The irony is in the response to the letter I sent to Super Clubs concerning my stay at Hedo II. The Hedo II General Manager eventually sent me back a letter, mainly filled with excuses. An excerpt, "In reviewing our files we have no record of these issues being brought to the attention of the management of the hotel." An absolute contradiction to what really transpired. Also, "there are other resorts that can provide the vacation experience you are looking for." Should I say more with this statement?

In summary, if you are looking for the ?wild & wicked" Hedo experience, I would strongly suggest you visit Hedonism III instead. It still has the Hedo character, but with much better facilities and rooms; and a fun, professional, pleasant and engaging staff. Obviously a reflection of Hedo III?s management.

4.0 stars Paradise found - we can't wait for visit #2! Visited: July 2002

As this was our first trip to Hedonism II, we did not really know what to expect. All of our expectations were exceeded!

The grounds were beautiful, the beaches were superb, and the food and drinks were excellent and plentiful. The rooms were dated, but clean (did not spend much time in the room anyway). The staff was courteous and professional (and the on-site wedding coordinator did an excellent job in making arrangements for the renewal of our wedding vows).

We highly recommend the parasailing and the catamaran cruise (clothing optional of course!). There were plenty of scheduled and unscheduled activities to suit all tastes, as well as lots of space and privacy for those who just wished to relax and catch some rays (with and without tan lines!).

We highly recommend Hedonism II for all mature adult couples looking for a break from the everyday (or a vacation without kids for the first time in 10 years like we were).

We do not recommend it for the closed minded, newlyweds, singles (unless you are coming with a group), or anyone offended by public nudity (or overt sexuality as may be seen on the nude side of the property). We found people on the nude side much more friendly and outgoing than those on the prude side - there was nothing to hide behind once all your clothes were off!

All in all, a very liberating, exotic, life experience, an excellent vacation, and a top notch resort that we plan to visit again!

At first, I was a little bit put off by the thought of going to a partially nude resort. But once we arrived, it was non-stop party.

We were not pressured to participate in anything. Everybody was here to have a good time. The disco was off the hook and we partied every night until 5:00 a.m. I really loved the fact that the staff participated, too, which made everything that much more fun.

We left the resort only once for a short outing, but were anxious to return. You have never seen or been to a toga party until you have been to the one at Hedo! Talk about creative attire!

The food was more than I could ever hope for. My husband and I are already planning our next vacation here. It was excellent!

I will not get you drooling with all of the details. I have stayed at both Hedos in Jamaica, and I must say that you will be guaranteed to max out at Hedo II.

We go to Jamaica every year and, if we could afford it, we would live at HEDO II.

My wife and I were looking for a nice adult vacation without the kids. And Hedonism II was the place!

This place was unbelieveable! The grounds were nicely kept. The service was great. The food was good too. I would definetly go back! There were so many stories to tell, but they were all 18 and over!

People have to go there expecting anything to happen - because it will!

Go with an open mind and the power to make your own choices (nudity, drinking and swinging). It was all abundant!

I would recommend this place for the party types! Conservatives should go somewhere else! This place ruled!

Wow! Anything and everything goes! I have done nothing but dream of going back since I got on the plane to come home.

The next time I go, I am going to take some of the extra excursions. I thought the rooms could have been nicer for the price, but I didn't spend much time in them anyway.

You take things at your own pace here. If you want to be involved, you can. If you just want your drink and smoke and relax in your hammock, "no problem, mon!".
