Our honeymoon was heaven! Visited: January 2005 |

We have just returned from the honeymoon made in heaven. You just cannot imagine the service we got at the Royal Plantation.
In two weeks we recieved nothing but the full attention of the staff. They were genuinely pleased to not only serve us, but to also remember our names and our preferences. It would be unfair to name individuals, as they were all fantastic. Any requirements were taken care of courteously and we were always made to feel special.
During our honeymoon, we stayed in the top suite, which surely cannot be rivaled anywhere in the Caribbean. We also viewed basic rooms which no-one could be dissapointed to stay in, and all with sea views.
The food and service were fantastic. The beach bar, Papillon's restaurant and La Flambe restaurant -not a bad meal was had at any place.
Congratulations to Peter, the general manager, who should be very proud to have such a fantastic resort and staff to match.
We now need to start planning our next trip! |

We spent Christmas at the Royal Plantaton. We only had two and a half days of sunshine, and it was still the best vacation ever. The staff and the food were both wonderful. I can't wait to go again. |

I've been to several Caribbean resorts and this one tops them all. We went at the low period, so there were not many guests which made our stay even more special.
The suites were remarkable. All were big and had balconies overlooking the beautiful private beach. There was also a bar in every room with a refrigerator and premium liquors.
The only goal of the staff was to keep guests happy without being in the way. The food was great - steak, shrimp and lobster, day and night if you wanted it. In fact, we had dinner with the chef!
They also offered 24-hour room service. The ambiance was quiet, but in a spectacular setting.
Activities were at your leisure. Play golf at the Sandals Country Club - it was a challenging course even for low handicappers.
Don't miss this place for the memories of a lifetime! |

My husband and I went to the Royal Plantation in May for our honeymoon. In our wildest dreams we never imagined such an incredible stay.
The staff (Simone and Sibony were fantastic!), the food (definitely try a steak and dessert), and the beatiful water made us want to never return home. We have already started planning our next trip here.
When you go, definitely take advantage of snorkeling. We had a blast, and enjoyed watching the sunset while sipping champagne. And we musn't forget dinner on the beach. We've never tasted such amazing food! We also enjoyed fine dining in the French restaurant and a cigar in the cognac room.
The Royal Plantation was elegant, peaceful, graceful, and a place you see in your dreams. |

My husband and I had a fabulous time at Beaches Royal Plantation. We were upgraded to this resort from Sandals Ocho Rios because they were overbooked, and we were so happy it happened.
This place was smaller and quieter, but we weren't looking for a party place. We also met some younger couples our age who were also upgraded. Besides, Sandals was right next door and we could walk or shuttle there for the nightly entertainment if we desired.
We enjoyed all the restaurants and exchange privileges at the neighboring Sandals resorts. The beachside/pool service here was awesome. We never had to get up from our lawn chair! We went to the beach every day and there was always a chair available.
The food here was also very good! The nightly reggae band was awesome as well. Our main reason for going to Jamaica was for the beach. It was everything we dreamed of...white powder sand and clear warm water. It was heaven!
We opted for the Dunn's River Falls excursion, which is a must! It was a lot of fun. We also did the Bob Marley Chukka Bus Tour which was a very long and scary drive - but if you're into Bob, it's worth the trip. We also did some shopping and took a taxi to the Taj Mahal. They had a lot of nice jewelry and it was worth checking out.
For a little extra romance, we did a couples massage on the beach. It was really nice and they even brought a bottle of champagne for us to share on the pier.
Overall, this trip was awesome and we hope someday to return to Jamaica. |

A great mix of relaxation, pampering and fun. Visited: December 2002 |

This was an all-around great resort for a couple looking to get away from it all for a while.
The property was breathtaking and the staff was very friendly. The resort had 80 oceanview suites, so at times we felt like the only ones on the beach. The only downside would be that those looking for a party atmosphere at night would have to go elsewhere. However, you have exchange priveleges to 3 other Sandals/Beaches resorts to do just that.
There were plenty of tour options to keep guests busy (we recommend the party cruise and the Chukka River tubing). Or you could just relax on the beach and have drinks brought to you all day.
The drinks were all top shelf, and the food was very good. Although it cost extra, the spa was worth a visit. My wife and I had two sessioins each, with the last one being a side by side moonlight massage on the beach. Words can't describe how wonderful that experience was with the sun going down into night and the waves crashing on the shore.
It was a great trip and I would recommend it to most anyone. I would only exclude those looking to party hard the whole trip. We even had some celebs show up at the end of the trip (Carmen Electra and Paul Sorvino). They were part of a celebrity golf tournament. |

I have now come back from my fourth trip to the Royal Plantation in the last two years.
Once again, it exceded all expectations - rooms, service, food - everything.
We have booked again for November 2003. Do yourself a favor and get there as soon as possible. And one more thing - sunshine, sunshine, sunshine - enough said! |

My wife and I spent our honeymoon at Beaches Royal Plantation and were spoiled during our entire visit. Every aspect of the resort was top notch, especially the food. The French restaurant was amazing. We never felt hungry the entire time. The staff went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant and romantic as possible. At times, we felt we had the beach all to ourselves.
We are counting the days until we return. This resort was adjacent to many of the other Sandals resorts and there was simply no comparison. Spend the extra money for Royal Plantation. You won't be disappointed.

Outstanding service and food, but... Visited: June 2002 |

This was a very quiet resort without any entertainment.
This was my 11th trip to Jamaica, and I have stayed at many other all-inclusive resorts. I would actually rate this resort a 4.5 due to the basic rooms and no entertainment. There were several honeymooners, and management informed us that 80% of their guests range from 25-35 years old.
A little evening entertainment would be nice, but the evenings were pretty much over after dinner, which was about 9:00 p.m.
Out of all the all-inclusives in Jamaica, this resort had the best service and food. The property and beach were beautiful. We were able to go to the other resorts that had better entertainment options, but the resorts were not that great and we would always end up back at our lovely resort.
Again, this was one of the best resorts in Jamacia, but just be prepared to spend money taking cabs to Margaritaville if you want to party and have fun. We were celebrating out first year anniversary. |

This was a beautiful place to go. The service was excellent, the rooms were beautiful and clean, and the people very friendly.
The food was the best. The chef was the star of the hotel. When you stay here, or visit, you will want to go back. No other place compares. This was top-notch. They need to be complimented. I hope the service and care continues, this alone will bring the vacationers. Catering on a vacation is what this place was all about. Visit the Spa - it was awesome..
We hope to go back again and again. |

We just returned from our honeymoon vacation. We wish we could have stayed longer.
This resort was nice because of its small size and serene atmosphere. The beaches and restaurants were never overcrowded, and nearly the entire staff really put an effort forth to be friendly and gracious.
The afternoon lunch and beach service was okay, but this resort really stood out when it came to its dinner service.
The rooms were moderate in size, but with nice furnishings and all with a beach side view. The rooms came stocked with premium brand alcohol, and the houskeeping was first rate.
Evening activities usually included live music, cultural performances and a weekly buffet with dinner on the beach. Younger couples may be looking for more excitement, and a shuttle will take you to any of the sister properites for full privileges.
We would definitely return. |

My husband and I have traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean. We consider Jamaica to be our "home away from home" and visit at least two times every year. We have stayed at most of the 5-star resorts in Jamaica, however, Beaches Royal Plantation has surpassed any past experiences - this was a world class resort.
Our experience at this resort was phenomonal. The food rivaled some of the best dinners we have had at top New York restaurants. The service was impeccable! It seemed that for every guest, there were two staff members on hand - every request was answered.
The rooms were beautiful...top shelf liquors (Johnny Black, Absolut, etc), sodas and set-ups were stocked in the rooms and were replenished as necessary. Room service was not just a small menu (as at the Lido properties) but rather a full service dining experience! Houskeeping staff was top notch. The bath products stocked in the rooms were those used in the Spa (which was also amazing) - marvelous Lemongrass scent!
I can't say enough about this property - just go and experience it yourself! I will mention that if you are looking for a party atmosphere this is not for you - the atmosphere here was somewhat refined, but not overly stuffy. There was not much going on during the evening hours - however, you can travel to the Sandals properties (complimentary shuttles) for dancing, shows, etc.
Kudos to Beaches Royal Plantation for an unforgettable experience! |

This was my home away from home. This was our second trip here in the last year, and it was just as good as the first.
From Arim, the general manager, and Mrs. Millwood, to Sandy McCoy and others, the management staff was just great. They (along with everyone else) made this the best place to be.
The rooms were out of this world, and the views took my breath away. Also, the room service ruled, and the in-room bars only had the best liquor.
The beach was outstanding, and the spa was where I always spent a little time while I'm here.
A special shout to Chef Hugo for staying close to help me out (he knows what I mean).
If you can come here, you should run - not walk - and you will know what I'm saying. My wife and I are going for our third trip in 18 months on September 22nd.
Update as of 10/11/2002
This is my second time writting, we just returned from our third stay at the plantation.
It is still the best and only place we ever seem to get to. While I had some reservations about this stay now that the property has new management, we found that Mario and his new staff were a welcome addition to the property.
Kudos - once again - to the management and staff at the plantation for making it, hands-down the best resort on earth. We will see you again very very soon. |

My husband and I spent our 10th wedding anniversary at the Royal Plantation. We both absolutely loved it.
The staff was great, the rooms and view were wonderful and the food was exceptional. We enjoyed it so much we barely ventured away from the resort.
We are dreaming about when we can return. I would highly recommend this resort to all. |

If you already have a team of butlers that wait on you 24 hours a day, then don't bother coming to this place. If you are like most of us, though, pack your bags and get here as fast as you can.
My girlfriend and I took our travel agent's advice (and a leap of faith) and spent a week at this exclusive and luxurious all-inclusive resort. This was, without a doubt, the best vacation of our lives. We have been to Australia, Hawaii, the Bahamas and Acapulco.
The scenery, the rooms, the service, the service, the service (it bears repeating) were all outstanding. Only criticism: they need a wine list. The selection was hurting a bit. A little bit of begging, however, will get you access to some slightly better bottles in their cellar. Nevertheless, a well-rounded wine list is needed. My advice: make this your next vacation spot. |
