We did not have much of a honeymoon here. Visited: April 2009 |

We just got back from our honeymoon, and had the worst experience.
Our reservations stated honeymoon with a king bed - and I told them "honeymoon" at check in. We got to our room and it had two beds (room one).
After getting a downgraded room, but a king bed, we woke up the next morning to water on the floor. Maintenance solved it by putting towels next to the wall so water could still leak everywhere (room number two).
After two times of going to the front desk, asking for the manager and never getting them, the front desk changed our room. Our third room had two twin beds that were pushed together to make one. So if you slept in the middle, you sank - not to mention the lovely view of a fence with barbed wire on top.
Saturday we got a note offering a free upgrade limited time if we responded by 9 am. We tried to call the front desk, but the phone didn't work. We turned in the paper before 9, and they told us to pack our stuff and be back at noon.
We came back, and they only had three rooms and gave out five upgrade papers, only the first three to turn in paper got the rooms. After talking to manager, she offered free massage and champagne. However, they never called us with massage times and no one else knew anything about it.
The manager totally ignored any concern I had. They did nothing special for us on our honeymoon...no upgrades, champagne, recognition, nothing! I have never been so happy to come home. I have traveled to many countries and this was by far the worst experience/vacation I have ever had! |

I have wonderful memories of the hotel. Visited: September 2008 |

The first year I was here was in 1986. That year they gave a beach jacket and a matching bag to all the guests. I have saved mine all these years.
I have been to this resort 12 times. The last time I was here was in 2005. They also gave a beautiful gift to all the guests.
I have been here several times a few days before a hurricane and/ or after a hurricane. I love this resort.
I know I will never be able to go back, so I will always keep the wonderful memories of the resort and of the wonderful staff throughout the years. Thank you! |

I travel a lot, but have made Brezes my destination more than all others combined. I have come here 17 times.
We got married here in 2001. The property went through a major renovation and re-opened in 2007. I found the changes to be wonderful. It was more than a face lift. They added new rooms, suites, and restaurants, and freshened up everything else.
The key success factor for this resort is the staff. You will not find friendlier or more helpful staff anywhere.
I am an avid SCUBA diver. This makes Breezes an exceptional value because SCUBA is included in the price of your stay.
I can't say enough good things about this property. That is why I am returning in two weeks! |

The staff and management seem to have no idea what they are doing. I had to nearly fight the manager for a voucher for their offered program.
The food was decent. The electric wouldn't stay on for an entire day, and would be out for up to several hours at a time. There were mosquitos in the rooms (there were seven of us, and we all had the same problems).
The service (when we could get it) was good, but getting it was the problem.
The pools closed too early (one at 5:00 pm, the other at 6:30 pm). There was only one pool that had a swim-up bar. The other had the volleyball net. They did water aerobics in the swim-up bar pool (how stupid, with a perfectly good huge pool right there). Then, they ran us out of the other pool seemingly randomly.
There was a limited beach area.
Also, the front desk staff seemed unmotivated and incompetent. Although we went all-inclusive, everyone expected a tip, and golf was stupidly expensive.
I'll never go back. |

I had a blast! Visited: March 2007 |

My husband and I came To Breezes March 22-25, 2007. We had a blast, but three nights was way to short. Next year, hopefully we can go for a week.
The entertainment was incredible - with the silly bar games, the rockin' shows, and the awesome drinks.
The rooms were okay, but you are not here to be in your toom. The food and the service were good.
The various watersport activities were awesome. We took the glass bottom boat ride. It was cool. We would have done more, but our time was limited.
Jamaican people are awesome. They make you feel like Jamacia is your home.
Go have fun! God willing, we will be back next March. |

We returned for our first anniversary and had a marvelous time! Visited: June 2005 |

We were married last year at Breezes, and promised to return for our first anniversary. We did!
We had a wonderful time again, and we were able to really relax and enjoy our anniversary. All of the staff remembered us from last year and welcomed us back with smiles and gladness. They went out of their way to make sure we were well taken care of.
Also, we were given shirts and a bottle of champagne for our anniversary. We were so happy to be back with our "home away from home" family, and will be returning soon. We would like to make it yearly, but only time will tell. We will definitely come here for our fifth. |

Our wedding and honeymoon were absolutely wonderful! Visited: June 2004 |

We were married at Breezes Runaway Bay and honeymooned here as well. We stayed for ten days and had an awesome time.
The grounds were gorgeous, the watersports were really fun, the food was perfectly delicious, and the service was very consistent. Room services (if necessary) might have been handled on Jamaica time (which means you may have to wait a couple of more minutes longer than your expected timing). But it was no problem, because we were not in our room most of the time anyway.
Take time to walk around the grounds and wait until you see the huge aloe vera plant! Most of all, don't forget to relax over and over again on the hammocks. The Breezes philosophy is to enjoy yourself whether you are snorkeling, playing volleyball, or relaxing by the seaside.
We had a fabulous time and will be returning next year for our anniversary. |

A great resort and a wonderful place for a wedding! Visited: November 2003 |

My husband and I just returned from an eight-day stay, during which we had an amazing wedding ceremony on the beach at the resort. Our stay started on 10/28, and we departed on 11/4. I won't carry on about the wedding, but this was a great choice for us. (Thanks to Charley and Nikky who gave me great pre-wedding info!).
We had 29 guests in our group, and I would say that more than half would give the resort five stars, and the other would give it four.
The drinks were plentiful--we rarely had to wait for service. I was impressed with the brands of liquor; they offered most that you would find in the states (Absolut, Jack Daniels, Tanqueray, etc.) And they poured a generous drink, too!
The entire staff was gracious and very kind throughout our stay, from the servers at the buffet or at the front desk, to the shuttle drivers.
I had read some comments that the food at the resort was "average", but I (along with the rest of our group) was pleasantly surprised. There was a lot of variety, and I couldn't imagine getting tired of it unless you had a stay over two weeks. The stir fry at the Starlight Grill was especially good. Martino's, the Italian restaurant, was also very good.
One of the best surprises at Breezes was just how good the snorkeling was. The water was very clear, and there were numerous reefs close to the swimming area. I would give high marks to all the watersports they offered.
A few in our group took advantage of the SCUBA class. You started at 8:45 am, and by 1:00 pm, you were diving! The instructor was exceptionally thorough and all the novice divers felt safe; even the advanced diver in our group thought the dive was very good. There's even a shipwreck that they'll take you to.
The beach was a good size, very clean, and we had no complaints about the pool, either.
Golfers--you'll be very happy here. The course was a two-minute (if that) shuttle ride from the resort. There was no water on the course, but some challenging traps though. Try to get Vinnie as your caddy; you won't regret it. You'll be rewarded by his shout of "Solid gold, mon!" with a great shot.
Anything negative? Well, the air conditioning in our room left a little to be desired. It was no problem, though--just check it once you get there, you can easily switch rooms if it's not up to speed. (My husband and I didn't switch, since we had opted for the oceanview suite in honor of the wedding/honeymoon.) The rooms were a little musty, but you won't care to spend time in your room once you get there!
All in all, it was a great place. Not luxury, but very nice. |

It exceeded our expectations! Visited: August 2003 |

As our first trip to Jamaica (and our honeymoon), we booked the Super-surprise package because it was the best buy for the money. This place far exceeded our expectations.
The staff was extremely courteous. We were never cheated on liquor at the bars and there was always something to do if we wanted it.
I'd never snorkeled before, but did every chance I got. The reef just off the beach was absolutely fascinating. The quality and variety of the food was excellent. There were many people on the grounds, but it never seemed overcrowded.
We filled out a card when we arrived that asked if we were vacationing or honeymooning - we marked honeymoon. The next day we had complimentary matching tee shirts that read "just honeymooned" on it and a bottle of champangne. We wore them when we came home and received congratulations all the way home. It was spectacular!
We're planning to go back next summer and relive our honeymoon all over again. Don't overpack! We stayed in bathing suits most of the time (as did a lot of guests)! |

Good value; food and rooms just okay. Visited: July 2003 |

We booked our trip thru Air Jamaica vacations. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway with a good beach and party atmosphere, this is the place. The rooms and lobby are a bit shabby, but clean. If you are into luxury, this is not the place. We snorkeled did SCUBA and most other activities.
The food was the biggest disappointment. There were not enough Jamaican choices like curries and local stuff. One night was Asian Niight, I can get that at home! We have also stayed at the Breezes Bahamas and found their food to be much better.
The beach at this place is good. We saw a lot of people getting married here. If you can swing it budget wise, choose a Sandals resort for your wedding rather than this place. If you love to party, then you will love Runaway Bay. The hotel has no ATM, so be sure to bring money for incidentals or shopping! |

My husband and I went to Jamaica for our honeymoon - we were on a last minute deal which was called a "Super Surprise".
We were told by the agent that we would be staying in one of the three SuperClub Resorts. We made the mistake of checking them all out in the brochure and both decided that Breezes at Runaway Bay was the place for us.
When we arrived at Montego Bay we were given details of our resort, and to our delight, we had been allocated to Breezes at Runaway Bay!
We had the most fantastic holiday - everything was perfect and we will always remember our honeymoon. To date, it is the best resort we have ever stayed in, and we will return one day for our anniversary! |

We had an absolutely amazing time! I am already eager to go back. The best part of it all was the people! They were all incredibly helpful and were so fun to talk to.
I took the trip with my friend's family and we all enjoyed it! Every restaurant had great food, as well as at the buffet.
And, if you were not eating, there was always something to do! If you were not interested in doing anything on the grounds, it was easy to get help in finding activities outside the hotel grounds.
It was so beautiful here! But I don't have room to tell about everything! I had an amazing experience with the circus clinic there and spent time at the trapeze every day trying it out! It was most likely my favorite part.
I would strongly advise anyone to visit to Jamaica and Runaway Bay. Everything was wonderful - the rooms, the friendly service, numerous activities, great food, and much, much more! |

We had a great time at the Breezes Runaway Bay. Visited: April 2003 |

First off, no one should complain about the ride to Runaway Bay, because it was nothing. Take a nap and don't watch, because one hour and 20 minutes later, you will begin to have the time of your life.
I'm a golfer and the course was outstanding! Beware of out of bounds right. Get to the course early (7:30 a.m.) - no tee times necessary.
The resort was great. We had issues with showers and toilets. I called the front desk and within two minutes someone was at my door. The toilet problem was solved, but the shower had a life of its own. Once the temperature was set, it changed. It would go from really hot to freezing cold. It made for a quick shower, though. However, that was my only complaint.
The rooms were small, but we only slept in them. Everything was so well kept from rooms to grounds. The staff was friendly and sharp. They were very attentive to needs. The food was very good. Martino's is a must. The swordfish was outstanding! No doubt, it would cost $35 in a restaurant in our neighborhood.
The activities were a blast. We went scuba diving, but the best snorkeling was 90 feet off the beach. Bring out a hotdog bun and feed the fish. I was surrounded by over 100 yellow and black bluegill looking fish. This was better than Maui. I saw a octopus, stingray, eel, and a variety of other tropical fish.
My wife did the trapeze act when we were here. She loved it. There was always so much to do that we couldn't get bored and we never felt pushed into any activity. For the price and the huge beach and the amenities and the activities, you must make this your next vacation.
By the way, we created a new drink. It is called Jamaica Jam. You have to have it. (gin, apricot brandy, pineapple juice and orange juice). Drink it all night and you won't be hung over in the morning.

Having never been to Jamaica before, I was not sure what to expect. On the advice of a travel agent friend, we chose Breezes Runaway Bay. Let me tell you, I wish I could run away here all the time.
The club itself was excellent. The rooms, grounds, beaches - everything was kept clean and in tip-top condition.
Also, there are no words to describe the food. It was all we could eat, almost anytime we wanted, and the selection was wonderful. My favorite had to be the Starlight Grill. I have never tasted stir fry like that in my life. I also enjoyed the island greens and the fresh fruit. Because each night's Buffet had a different theme, the variety was unbelievable.
The staff and locals were wonderful and made the phrase "No Problem" come to life. Everyone smiled, sang as they worked and were so friendly. They enjoyed answering questions about the island a lot.
The entertaiment staff was exceptional. Gizzy and Lisa kept us all on our toes, with Beach Parties, Goat Races, Rum Mixology classes, Bingo, Trivia, etc. There was never ever a dull moment. Nightime brought sing alongs around the piano, a different theme party in the disco every night and non-stop fun. There was no need to leave the club if you wanted to have fun because there was something going on all the time.
The tours were also good. Even with a seven-day stay, we didn't get to see all we would have liked. We did enjoy the Sunset Cruise, shopping in Ocho Rios and Dunns River Falls.
We have only been home for three days and I am ready to go back. Bartenders Noel and Curtis kept the Hummingbirds and Jamaica Kisses coming and were great, friendly people.
We will return again next year and will probably go right back to Runaway Bay. Thanks to all who made our trip a paradise that we will talk about for years to come. |

My husband and I booked our flights a year before we were to travel and did a lot of research before we booked our accommodation at Breezes Runaway Bay. We found it to be a very good value compared to the other resorts we looked at.
The food was very good, with lots of variety. We tried all the activities including scuba diving, snorkeling, the circus workshop, and a tour to Dunn's River Falls. The rooms were okay, but we spent very little time there.
The staff was great, very helpful and friendly, especially Wayneton, Keith, Ricardo, Renalto, Henry, Amoi, Rory and Mike. The beach was a private beach which was very nice - there were no vendors at all.
It was an adult-only resort which was also nice as we have four children at home. My husband and I were skeptical about the all-inclusive concept thinking that we would have some extra charges when we checked out. Our bill came to $4.28 for a phone call home, nothing else.
We chose to tip, and the staff really appreciated it. They were paid only about $12.00 US per day. Tipping must be done discreetly, some of the employees will not accept them. Many people don't tip and the service is just the same, it is completely your choice. We would love to go back anytime. |

My girlfriend and I (both single, black, late 20's/early 30's) recently visited Breezes Runaway Bay and had an awesome time!
The activities and watersports staff truly made our vacation. They were lots of fun, very helpful, and patient (especially during my windsurfing lesson when I fell off the board at least 20 times!) We took advantage of almost all of the activities.
The room we had was okay - it was clean, but nothing spectacular. But, considering we were only in it to sleep and dress, it was fine for us.
The food was excellent--we didn't try the two restaurants because the main dining was so good. It was a great vacation and we can't wait to go back. |

I have nothing but positive things to say about Breezes Runaway Bay. My cousin and I decided one day that we have never been to Jamaica and we both have always wanted to go. On the advice of several friends, relatives and travel agent, we chose Runaway Bay. It was more than we could have asked for.
We are both in our early thirties, are both single and full of energy. We both enjoyed ourselves more than we could have imagined. We first thought it would be nothing but couples around, but it was a good mix.. couples and singles. That made for a pleasant environment.
People who have complained about the resort need to first realize that they are on vacation in a (for the most part) third world country. Once you enter the resort, you walk into a small paradise.
People who have complained about the food need to rrealize that it's Jamaica, not New York, Chicago, or the nation's capital. Enjoy the atmosphere, hospitality and just kick back and enjoy your time away from the job, kids, dog or any overall stress that accompanies your everyday life.
They have something for everyone - food, water activities, daily activities, and an eventful night life.
For any “small” pleasures that are not available, just keep in mind that it is Jamaica and their way of rating a hotel is lower than ours in the states. They staff more than make up for any small amenities that are not available.
But I really don’t think that it lacks for much considering the price. And for those who complain about the drive from the airport to the resort. I guess you have never driven in larger US cities. It’s just the way things are done in Jamaica.
If you go into it with an open mind, I can almost guarantee that your experience will be more than you expected. We enjoyed it so much that we are going back in October 2003. |

My wife and I were married at Breezes Runaway Bay in July of 2000, and we have returned every July since.
The resort is breathtaking, the food is delicious, the sea and beach are to die for, the theme parties are not to be missed, and the staff will see to your every need with a smile.
Also, the nude beach and hot tub are awesome! If you like a fast pace or a slow pace, you will love Breezes. Your fellow guests are almost always a blast to be around. Last year, we met the most wonderfully crazy sisters (Carly and Lisa) last. And this year (July 2003), we are meeting them at Breezes.
The staff will love you for coming and they will adore you for returning. Maybe we will see you there! |

My husband and I were celebrating our one year anniversary and were very, very pleased with our choice of stay at Breezes Runaway Bay. We wouldn't choose any other resort.
The location was beautiful (definitely not a tourist trap, one can enjoy the Jamaican country). The staff was definitely rated five stars, the food was yummy (one could never go hungry or thirsty), and the rooms were clean. Also, the tour desk was on top of things. You could schedule a tour from the many they had available and expect to leave at the time scheduled.
We would definitely recommend anyone to stay here. Don't forget the sunblock and insect repellent! |
