I found reviews on Trip Advisor for this place, and thought it looked and sounded nice. I booked and quickly regretted it.
As for the rooms - deluxe? Are you kidding? My bed in university was bigger. If my room was a deluxe, I would hate to see what they consider a cabin room. It was small with poor lighting.
However, the bathroom fan worked - that was a plus. Also, there was a safe in the room. So that would be two positives (and that was all).
The food was very simple. It was rather boring and very bland. There was no variety. The BBQ counter ran out of jerk chicken at 5 pm. The hotel was at full capacity.
As for the staff - just try and make them smile. It was sad. In addition, the front desk staff was very rude.
The beach okay, but was like a huge ashtray. Okay, so that's not the hotel's fault, but it is a valid complaint.
I couldn't wait to leave, and I will not be purchasing any Breezes products in the future, either. |

The beach was great, but crowded. The guys who work in the watersports area were friendly, helpful, and informative.
The worst part, by far, was the dark, dank room. It was tiny, dirty, and loud with early 90s decor, and the ceiling in the bathroom was falling in. I asked the front desk if they could move us to another comparable room, or we would even pay more to be upgraded to a nicer room. The woman (rudely) said she'd send someone to look at the ceiling.
The man came and said, in fact, the ceiling was falling in and needed to be fixed. He couldn't do it, but said he would sent someone to do it. They never came. Also, the shower drain got clogged with ceiling chunks, and didn't drain properly. It was disgusting.
The entertainment was awful, and the food was terrible. Go somewhere else. |

My husband and I decided to take a trip to Jamaica, and we stayed at the Breezes Hotel. It did remind me of a Motel 6 or a Sleep Inn.
We had the deluxe oceanfront suite. There were no photos on the walls, and the television was mounted up on the wall with a cable cord that had been cut and re-taped (it barely worked).
Also, the air conditioning unit had the room smelling dank and moldy. I could not stand to be in the room. My husband and I had to purchase a candle to disguise the smell that was in the room.
However, overall, the service was good. The food at the buffet was good, and the bartenders were nice. The premium beverage was the Appleton Rum. It seemed as if every drink you ordered was made with this rum. You could have ordered a Pina Colada and it would have Appleton Rum. So, get ready for your share of rum!
I don't think I will be returning to this resort. |

My wife took me to this resort as a birthday gift. Had it not been for enjoying the company of my wife, the stay would've have been completely horrible.
We thought the food was terrible, with the exception of the "Italian resturant". The service was basically non-existent.
Worst of all, some items were stolen from our room. We discovered later that other guests had things stolen from their room, also.
If you're considering this resort as a vacation spot, I suggest you reconsider. |

If you are considering a Caribbean vacation - I would suggest trying Dominican REpublic. Both Purta Plata and Punta Cana would exceed the quality of food, service, entertainment and accomidations - 10 times what the Breezes, Montego Bay can.
The RUI and BRavo resorts in The dominican are truely 5 star resorts.
The Breezes in Montego bay was disappointing.
o The rooms were crowded. No refrig or bottled water in room. No Clock in room. Although - shared room with 1000's of tiny ants. Deluxe room compares to a hotel 6. Very poor.
o Food Quality was poor. The same items
daily at the pool grill; and basically the same type of items on the daily buffet. I could fit the entire buffet in my personal kitchen. Very small and crowded. Marcino's was enough to feed a small child. Advise: Pack some salt to bring with you.
The times were challenging as well. Any Super CLub should offer food 24 hours some where...People get hungry between 10:30 am and 12:30pm....And 2:30 pm to 7:30pm and 10:30pm - Midnight.
o We dealt with electricity outages several times a night.
o The service was poor. The bartenders were not outgoing and freindly. They were extremely slow. The servers rarely smiled.
o There was 4 ash trays in the entire place.
o They timed everything. When the pool bar closed; you were to go to the Pelican bar and then Disco. The Pelican bar was quiet and nothing happening. We actually bar tended for a time since the bar tender was missing. The Kareokee did not happen due to no one knew how to opporate the equipment.
The Disco was a joke. Dark; 4 bar stools and no tables.
o They advertise a Casino. That is a joke. 6 slots machines on the [patio on the dining area?
o They advertise No sun reimbursement...but do not honor. It rained almost every day...And one day it was cloudy and spitting all day - and no offer for No-sun coupon; even after asking.
o BRing lots of change. The hotel could not break down $50's or $20's ever. You couldn't buy a bottle of water in the gift shop with a $20 because they didn't have change.
o The circus thing - more of a joke than the casino.
o One good point - Though the beach was small - it did offer great snorkeling.

I stayed here nine days over the Christmas holidays. While its location on Doctor's Cave Beach was optimal, I would never recommend it to anyone. I ended up paying approximately $400 a night, and I have never felt more cheated.
Case in point #1: I found it to be dirty.
I thought it was a dirty hotel. When I entered my "deluxe" suite, I was particularly charmed by the message that someone had left behind written in the dust of the glass door that read: "clean me, I'm dirty." I pointed this out to the conceirge who was carrying our bags. No action was taken.
Case in point #2: We encountered a broken down a/c.
During our stay here, the air conditioning unit malfunctioned and a portion of the ceiling collapsed under all of the recessed accumulation of water from the broken air conditioning unit. The bathroom was flooded, and a portion of the room was flooded as well. Their response? They came with some towels for us to use to absorb the excess water. We were not moved to another room, or compensated in any way.
Case in point #3: We thought the atmosphere was poor.
The hotel boasted its entertainment, and provided me with ear splitting, third-rate hosts. As if that wasn't bad enough, the speakers/loudspeakers equipment was rusted over and crackling! During meals, this crackling speaker would be heard constantly so that conversation became a struggle and was often impossible.
I would definitely avoid this particular hotel, and the entire SuperClubs chain. |

Luxurious, no - friendly, fun and relaxing, yes. Visited: May 2004 |

Look elsewhere for a four- or five-star experience. But if you're looking for a relaxing, fun, more cozy atmosphere, with a beautiful beach and friendly people, this is your place.
I had an oceanfront suite with a spectacular view of the water. The room was older, fairly big (with living area), but had a sort of rundown feel to it. I saw the cabin rooms as well, and yes, they were small. But if you’re only there to change your clothes and sleep, then it shouldn’t be that big of a deal. You're on vacation in the Caribbean, how much time do you expect to spend in your room?
The beach had beautiful, blue, warm water, and it was fairly clean (a few cigarette butts). There was a cool trampoline for guests to lay on or jump on a ways out in the water.
They offered activities like water skiing, sailing, tennis, glass bottom boat - and it was all free. There was a charge for jet skiing. There was poolside entertainment daily, with music, dancing, fashions shows, etc. The staff tried to really get the crowd involved...but often we just wanted to eat and/or relax.
The food was not great, but not bad either. Jimmy's was a smallish buffet, with typical meat, fish, pasta dishes...there was a variety nightly. Martino's was more "upscale", though it was smallish, too. Make reservations! And it was closed on Sat. I thought the food was excellent, considering the atmosphere being a contrived "elegant". I couldn't complain about the flowing wine and champagne.
The poolside food consisted of burgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese, fries, Jamaican beef patties and a pretty good jerk chicken. There were tons of different drinks and it was all “on the house”, tempting us to try something we might never have tried.
As for the staff: most everyone was very, very friendly. When we walked by, there were a number of them who remembered our names and asked how we were doing. Particularly, it was the bartenders and the cooks who remembered who the guests were and what they were drinking/eating.
The nightlife was not so great within the hotel, but seemed to be dependent upon the people staying there. And this time around, there were not many people interested in visiting the disco. But the piano bar with Karaoke got a decent crowd, though. It ended at midnight (even though it was supposed to be until ‘you say when’).
If you’re on the younger side, check out Margaritaville just down the block. There was a free shuttle, and it was absolutely packed both Thursday and Saturday nights. You get a good feel for the culture of the area in hanging with the locals.
Overall, I would say I had a fun, relaxing vacation at Breezes Mo’Bay. If you want affordable, relaxing yet fun and more on the quaint, yet friendly side, I would recommend this place. If you’re looking for upscale or high energy/singles/non-stop party, look elsewhere. |

We thought it was a complete joke of a vacation resort. Visited: January 2004 |

We went to Jamaica in January of this year for a short four-day getaway and stayed at the Breezes Montego Bay Resort. It turned out to be the worst vacation we had ever been on. Thank God we were only there for the short time period. Otherwise, we would have cut our trip short regardless of how cold it was in Minnesota.
We knew it was going to be a horrible vacation from the start. We arrived at the resort at 3 pm and our rooms were not ready until 5 pm that day. When we did get to our rooms, they were cabin rooms that could only fit a queen size bed and a TV.
Also, the floors were extremely filthy--we had to wear flip flops the entire time we were there. It seemed as if the floors had not been mopped or swept since the resort was built. On top of that, the bathrooms were filthy and there was no hot water the entire time we were there.
Each room had its own wall air conditioning unit. However, we were not able to control the temperature in our room because the entire resort had only one remote control for all the air conditioner units. It was the most ridiculous thing ever! Our room was so cold that we could have kept ice cream in there without it melting.
On top of that, we thought the food was horrible. We ate grilled cheese sandwiches a good portion of the trip because it was the only food that was okay. I am not a finicky eater at all, but the food was unbelievably terrible.
Upon asking the manager for a room upgrade, we were denied our request even though we would have been happy to pay more for a better room. We ended up leaving Breezes Montego Bay our last night to stay at another resort, which was ten times nicer than Breezes Montego Bay.
Needless to say, I have written a letter to SuperClubs to convey our dissatisfaction. We have not heard from them. I will never go to another SuperClubs resort again. It reads on their website they "pride themselves on the high level of service, quality, and value offered to guests," but to us, that was a complete joke. |

Just came back from Breezes Montego Bay and ended up having a good time despite the hotel's many shortcomings.
The main problem I found was the cleanliness of the hotel guestrooms. I wore flip-flops in the shower because the shower mat felt grimy. The room overall felt dirty to me.
The food at the resort is generally not good. They use low-grade quality food. Martino's is not good. Jimmy's Buffet occasionally had good local items. After you eat at the pool grill a few times you never want it again - and I thought there could never be anything wrong with a grilled cheeseburger.
The service is not good. If you have a problem with your room or any type of special request (room upgrade, late check out), you're out of luck. I had to call three times to get a remote control fixed. They do not give an inch at this place.
The beach is the most beautiful in Montego Bay. Despite the loud party music going on in the background from the hotel's entertainment/activities, you can still manage to relax on the beach.
Do not go to this hotel if you are expecting "casual elegance." There is no such thing at this place. Try and get a room with a view, otherwise you'll be looking out at the hallway or elevator. The hotel generally needs a lot of maintenance, refurbishing and improved upkeep of the facilities above the ground level.
I would not return to this hotel unless I was with a large group of friends on a party-drinking type of trip. |

I am a fan of the island but this SuperClubs, super sucks. The hotel has a load of amenities, a piano lounge, a great nightclub, and a couple of bars. The welcome was great, but I felt it was a great cover for what was to come.
The room had two twin-sized beds (I have not slept in a twin bed since I was four), once you turned around you were out of it. The view was of the staircase, just wonderful! I'm in Jamaica and get to see a staircase. The best was the rooftop Jacuzzi, seriously in need of some repairs with a view of some old rundown buildings. The food was okay after a day or two, one longs for variety. The entertainment was cool, they tried their best but were not friendly. Plus, they lived on their cell phones; they seemed so caught up in themselves.
But nothing was quite enough, Thank you Breezes, for making this one of my worst vacations in a while. I've visited this island at least 6 other times and always have spoken highly of Montego Bay, the people, the history and the culture. Visiting Breezes has given me a new outlook. I'm so glad that I now know better. What a let down! |

I just got back from Montego Bay had a good time. I didn't come here looking for five-star service - just sun, sand, and all-inclusive.
The people were very friendly at the hotel. Outside the hotel was another ballgame. Take two steps out, and here come the anglers from dope to "hey mon, I got a fishing boat" or whatever.
All in all, I'd go back to Breezes. |

Upon arrival, the hotel staff was very accommodating and pleasant.
Our room, a deluxe oceanview, had just that - a fabulous view and that was about it! The room had no remotes to control the air conditioner or the TV. The power went off one afternoon and it wasn't until we repeatedly called the desk, that someone finally came to turn it back on...at 9:00 pm!
We were also close to the pool and it was very loud until 2:00 am or so, but that was part of being on vacation during Spring Break.
The staff was very polite and friendly and the food was great (as were the drinks).
We won't be in any hurry to go back to Jamaica, but the visit at Breezes was, overall, nice and very relaxing. |

The staff at the front desk has no concept of service. The first room they gave me was about the size of a closet, which was musty and old. The second room was a little bit bigger than a closet and was supposed to be their deluxe. Any hotel that I feel the need to wear flip-flops in the shower is fourth-rate. |

I booked the SuperClubs Super Surprise, in which I prayed not to be sent to Breezes Montego Bay. Once the representative confirmed what I dreaded, I wanted to get on the first flight back to Maryland.
Upon arrival we were greeted by the bell staff that basically threw our bags into the lobby. We waited approximately 4 hours before our room was ready, although all the guests that arrived with us and after us were already settled in their rooms. Surprisingly they upgraded us to a deluxe room, which was okay until I discovered the toilet was broken and the last guest left their unmentionables hanging over the shower curtain. I played the maintenance technician and fixed the toilet myself.
In my opinion the rooms were not elegant, they housekeepers kept them clean. This resort was very quaint, and I had an absolutely fabulous time in spite of the initial problems.
The entertainment staff made my trip. They were friendly, attentive and courteous. They made sure that I was having fun and took the time out to get to know me personally. That alone, won me over to the resort.
The food is fabulous, the grill smoke is a bit heavy and the burgers are kind of dry, but Martinos was delicious. The buffet was good too. The activities are planned way in advance, which gives the traveler and opportunity to enjoy their vacation. Warning, the disco is a little whack, nothing much happens there so don’t think you are going to party.
Overall, I had a real good time at Breezes. I would recommend it for first time travelers to Jamaica.

Superclub? NOT! Visited: August 2002 |

I'll start with the good. The resort provides a rather intimate setting. It's just the right size and no where from the airport. The beach in which it is located is lovely. My husband and I really enjoyed snorkeling. The food at Martino's is excellent! The rooftop jacuzzi is a must see. The view from above is just gorgeous.
From the moment we arrived at our room, however, we had problems. The bathroom light did not work and the safety deposit box was broken. A maintenance worker came and fixed the light(so we thought), but had to drill a hole in the safety deposit box in order to remove the prior lock that was left in. We left the room for a few hours and returned only to find out that the key we had taken with us would not open our door. Someone had to be called to let us in. We were informed that the lock had been changed on the door so the one key would not work. Our TV was in the middle of the floor, tools were on the floor and the deposit box was still broken. I asked for a room change.
When we arose the next morning the bathroom light, that we thought was fixed, would not come on. I guess if it's off for so long, it will stop working. The next room was much better despite the tiny lizard inside. The only buttons that work on both of the rooms' TV remote controls are the channel and volume buttons. So, if you're on channel 10 and want to see 52, you have to go through the rest of the channels. The power button didn't even work. What's the use of a remote control if you have to get up to turn the TV on and off?
The next morning the housekeeper neglected to leave fresh towels. No problem. We'll just ask for some. Well, we didn't get them until later on that evening. At least someone did apologize for this.
The grill is only open for breakfast and lunch. I liked their food better than the restaurant, Jimmy's. The brochures state that Breezes MoBay has a weight room and a game room. It should read weight room/game room/beauty shop/massage parlor. They have two pool tables. The weight equipment is in one corner of the room. In the back, there are doors in which to enter the massage parlor and beauty shop.
This hotel could definitely stand a number of renovations. I hope that one of them would be making the wall, that separates the pool area from the beach, higher. Locals would occasionally look over the wall and try to sell weed to the hotel guests.
This was our third time in Jamaica. The other two hotels in which we stayed are much better than this one. This resort does not live up to the reputation of being a Superclub. |

My wife and I stayed here over the summer for 7 days and had a wonderful time. We didn't mind the small room because all we needed was a shower and bed. The rest of the stuff in there was never used.
The staff was very friendly. Jimmy's Resturant was horrible, but the grill was delicious. I don't even like chicken and hot dogs, but the Jerk chicken and hot dogs there were the best - and I craved for more, even now. My wife liked the Italian restaurant, but I didn't really care for it.
When we went off the resort, we were bothered by the locals for taxi rides, drugs and what not. I made the mistake of walking off the resort alone and half drunk at 3:00 am. Prostitutes approached me and pickpocketed my money. With the assistance of the police, we found the woman who stole from me. And after a trip to the police station, the police took me back to the resort where I was greeted by an unhappy wife.
I made up for it the next day by taking her to Braco Stables. She loved the horseback riding on the beach and swimming on horses in the water. The guides were the coolest. Any road trip in Jamaica was an adventure. There were no speed limits and no stop signs or red lights or straight roads. I figured my taxi driver was the coolest daredevil.
At Breezes, it was always a nice and relaxing environment, which I always enjoyed after awhile off the resort. I would recommend Breezes to anyone who wants to get away from ordinary life and experience something truly unique. You will have a fabulous time, and when you get home you will appreciate the USA. I plan on going back next summer. |

Breezes was a mixed bag. Visited: March 2002 |

Breezes was definitely a mixed experience. When we arrived late at night, we were told that our rooms were not available and we would all 4 stay in the most minimal accommodation for one night, but would then be upgraded to oceanview suite and oceanview room for the rest of our stay. The "cabins" were indeed very tiny and the one small window looked out on a hallway. Air-conditioning was broken in one room and parts of the television were missing in both. Our final rooms were lovely, but again had mechanical problems that were never resolved despite repeated requests.
The staff was uniformly friendly, but definitely worked on "Jamaican" time. The food was good - lots of variety, as were the drinks. The beach was wonderful, it was great to be able to snorkel right off the beach and see lots. Other watersports were good as well. The trapeze was never uncovered during our stay, but no explanation given. Be sure to check out the view from the rooftop jacuzzi - amazing! |

Oceanside view (oops, not guaranteed, you might get stuck with an elavator-side view but you can always upgrade to an oceanside view of the pool bar's roof!! And expect to pay for the diffence, no customer satisfaction here.) Rooms are tiny, smell funny and filled with plenty of home comforts (don't be surprised if they are broken/missing).
Staff friendliness=1 star. Except for 1 or 2 staff memebers, everyone was cold and unhelpful. The manager insisted that we had to pay $60+ extra per night to "upgrade", even though our travel agent, has an arrangement with them for much less. When we asked her to call the travel agency, she told us to go to our room and call with our credit card! After we got our "upgrade", she didn't send anyone to help us move our bags to the new room!
Food was very repetitive, cold, always served later than stated especially breakfast. And if you like dining in the outside dining area, be prepared to share the area with the stray cats that run around/under your table while you eat (4-5 cats when we were there, every meal).
The beach was nice, but the pool was so small. Included beach activities are rushed through. |
