This was our ninth visit to Club Caribbean and after our previous visit in October 2002, it was much improved and back to the old ways.
The new manager, Alvaro, has brought lots of new ideas to the hotel, with the entertainment crew now putting on very professional evening shows. It was great that The Jah Messengers were still performing. They were very energetic rastas and not to be missed.
The food was catered to suit all. During the day, there was a snack bar serving burgers, hot dogs, pizzas, etc. The dining room offered salads, pasta, meat dishes, ice creams, and fresh fruit. In the evening, there were three restaurants to choose from, varying from traditional Jamaican, Thai, Italian to the buffet style with salads, meat and fish dishes. The desserts were numerous and freshly made.
The gym needed updating, with only two bikes and free weights.
Should you wish to take any trips, see Steve who works just outside the front gate, he will take you to see the real Jamaica, he will spend as much time with you as you require. You are not rushed when visiting places, and he can also suggest places of interest. His prices are good. We have been using him for the last six years and have found him very knowledgable and a great tour guide.
We found all the staff at the hotel to be helpful and friendly, and it felt like one big family when we returned.
There was a shop at the resort, that sold everything and anything so don't worry if you leave anything at home. The beach towels were provided by the hotel, too.
Don't be frightened to leave the resort, explore Jamaica - it really is a wonderful country. |

We had a great vacation at Club Caribbean. Visited: March 2003 |

For the price, my friends and I were overwhelmingly satisfied with our visit to the Club Carribean.
The staff members were friendly, the food was good and the drinks were abundant. Everyone staying here seemed to be having a good time.
We ate at the a la carte restaurants once, but found that the atmosphere of the buffet was a lot more fun.
The only part of the hotel that I think could use improvement was the gym - but who needs to exercise when you're on vacation right?
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who can find joy in something different. This isn't an upscale resort, but it's clean, comfortable and will make you feel like you're a million miles away from reality. |

Everything about this place was awesome. Visited: March 2003 |

Wow! What can we say about this place? It was absolutely awesome! We came here for our honeymoon, and we were extremely overjoyed by how fabulous everything was!
The staff was excellent. And we were amazed at all the cleaning that went on. While we were here, everything was repainted (although it didn't seem as though it needed it!). If you dropped a wrapper, it was whisked out from under your feet without you even knowing it!
The food was excellent, and they offered a brilliant variety of choices like Thai, buffet, burgers and hotdogs!
A very special thanks goes to the whole entertainment team, especially Simone, Dwane and Roxanne. They made our stay that extra bit special and relaxed!
We had a great great time and will be back every year for as long as we shall live! |

We chose Jamaica as our dream destination to get married, and a dream it was!
The property may have only been a three-star, but everything about it was five star. The food was superb, entertainment was great, and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Our cottage was lovely, and the maid put fresh flowers in our room every day which was a nice touch.
Our wedding day went beyond our expectations and was truly wonderful. Anne, the wedding co-ordinator, was brilliant, and everybody made our day really special.
We had the time of our lives and will definitely be coming back to Club Caribbean. |

We have found a hidden treasure. Visited: March 2003 |

This was our first visit to Club Caribbean and we were quite pleased. After researching on the internet for several weeks, we decided to go to Club Caribbean and we made the right decision.
There was so much to do - glass bottom boat, kayaking, wind surfing and catarmaran cruises. The food was wonderful and the staff was so friendly. We wanted a relaxing vacation and that is exactly what we got.
Things we suggest if you go to this property: Get a cottage on the water. What a feeling to wake up in the morning and walk out your front door to the ocean - wow! For excursions we suggest Chukka Cove tubing and Moonstruck cruises. |

My wife and I have been to Jamaica four times now - this was our first time on the north coast and Runaway Bay. We are glad we made the choice to stay at the Royal Decameron.
From the fabulous food and accommodations to the service and wonderful staff, all was first class. We really found it hard to pinpoint anything that was not less than satisfactory. There was always a smile from staff and fellow vacationers.
We have already decided to return to this property ASAP. Without a doubt, we would recommend it anyone who wanted a great value for their vacation dollar. |

When we visited the Club Caribbean, it was everyone's dream hoilday. The drinks were cool and the food was lovely.
I am 17, and I didn't get bored. There was so much to do here. I became very friendly with one of the staff members, Dwayne. All the staff was so nice.
When staying in Jamaica, you must visit Bob Marley's home - it was very good. |

Poor Management Visited: February 2003 |

I had heard great things about this property and was absolutely stunned when I arrived. I was in the middle of nowhere. I thought the General Manager(AL) was the most unprofessional man I had ever met. He didn't even know the English langauage and was probably one of the rudest men I had ever met in my life. I think he believes that woman are second class citzens and should be barefoot and pregnant. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE. |

This was a beautiful island treasure. Visited: February 2003 |

I had the most wonderful time. It was my first time staying on the island. (I was in Jamaica on a cruise in 2000- Ocho Rios - and that wasn't much fun.) Staying put was much, much better. The staff was wonderful, and the weather was great. I especially enjoyed the food. The watersports were also fun. Barbara, the lady who cleaned our room, was very nice. |

A "real" beach resort with good food and rooms. Visited: February 2003 |

We enjoyed the proximity of our cottage to the beach, the excellent food and restaurant service, and interesting international guests. The Jamaican staff was always "up", friendly and helpful.
Music at lunch, dinner and for evening entertainment enhanced the pleasure. We were also here 30 years ago and will return again--but sooner than 30 years and will take our family with us. We had a Funjet all-inclusive package that included air from St. Louis, which was reasonably priced. |

Not just a destination but an experience! Visited: January 2003 |

This was our first time and we didn't know what to expect. We traveled with two other couples and one of them had been here several times before and wanted to come back with their friends - us!
We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and had three days of rain! We quickly learned about the phrase; "No Problem" since we had everything there for us... food, drinks, great indivdual grass huts! We took those three days to meet others from all over the world and learned quickly how to relax!
The food was excellent with service almost every waking hour. The staff was also top shelf! Jeffrey, the singer-waiter, was the best and was beyond professional. Anything (within reason) you requested was done by just asking (if it was not prior to our arrival.)
Our fourth day was the first sun we saw and wow! We got our dose within several hours and needed to get under some shade to keep from burning up! I was able to scuba dive, water ski, sail and more.
Out of a possible 100 points I would rate this place at least 95! The food was great, the people greater, and we will always speak positively about our visit. |

A local island paradise can be found at Club Caribbean. Visited: January 2003 |
| Posted by don4bs |
 |
For those of us requiring to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities and really enjoy a quiet local regime, Club Caribbean is the place to go. This place is as local to the island as you can get without having to live in a grass hut. For vacationers who must have the luxuries of home - whether it is the food or the facilities -this is not your place.
However, if you want the enjoyment of something different, sample what it is to eat Jamaican style foods, drink rum cocktails to your heart's content, but at the same time still have the opportunity to revert to the things you are accustomed to, then you have arrived at your island paradise.
The water sports for the more timid are usually on the house. Excursions outside the property can be arranged at the front desk.
Vacations are supposed to be relaxed and rested. This place is second to none in that department. Except for the occasional distraction of bare breasted sun bathers, the only other distractions are the breathtaking secenery and the sound of the ocean waves cresting on the shores outside your cottage.
Nothing spoils an outing away from the house like rude people. This you will not find here. Everyone, and I mean everyone, is exceptionally gratious and friendly. Some more so than others, but you will not find a sour face. The management of the Royal DeCameron group has done wonders both in the physical appearances and personal service department.
With exceptional service, pictorial scenery, comfortable surroundings, great sun, music and food - what else can you ask for on a vacation? Club Caribbean is truly an island paradise. |

This was our first time to Club Caribbean, and we are returning. Everything was excellent! The kids loved it, it was very safe and child-friendly! We just booked today to go back, and we've only been back in the UK for two 2 days. We can't wait to return to Club Caribbean! |

I've been to a few all-inclusives in Jamaica but treated with scant regard because I was not a foreign guest. But at Club Caribbean, it was different.
The staff was so helpful, polite and friendly. The playmakers were great! They interacted with the guests and they certainly knew how to have fun! I felt like I was at home. It also felt good to see the other guests having such a great time.
The Jamaica Night was 'off the wall' I didn't want to leave!

A good 3.5 star resort. Visited: November 2002 |

This was our first trip to Jamaica and we spent two weeks at this resort. We chose it based on price and the fact that it was very close to the sea. We definitely would recoommend the oceanfront cottages, they really were the way to go..your own private piece of paradise.
The food and drinks were great, especially for a three-star property. The staff was all super-friendly and accommodating.
Die-hard beach lovers may not like this resort since the beach was not the best. The water in the coves could be cloudy and full of weeds.
We definitely fell in love with Jamaica and its people and I have been back since (to Bloody Bay). |

A great place for a destination wedding. Visited: November 2002 |

There were 42 people in our party, half from Canada and half from the US. The Club Caribbean gave us the flexibility and affordability we were looking for.
The huts (gardenview and oceanview) were the same on the inside – bed, dressing table, TV, closet, bathroom. They were comfy, not fancy and clean. Make sure you shower fast - five minutes or less to hit the cold water.
The food was good, but bland. If you want spice, get out of the all-inclusive and have a taxi take you to a jerk stand…they were all over Jamaica. The food was good though. There were different buffet themes every night, and the potatoes were delicious! You won’t be disappointed with the a la cart restaurants either…except that you only have 1.5 hours to eat.
The beach was nice, except the west beach (by the dive shop) had a lot of bugs especially at night (some people brought back parasites that hung there daily). We liked the east beach by the bar. There was good music, drinks and food nearby! They were building more palm umbrellas at the time we were here.
The entertainment crew was awesome, crazy and very attractive! They were pretty forceful when they wanted you to participate, so do it! You only live once and you may win a bottle of rum! The servers were nice. If you have one often, give him/her a tip because they work hard for you. The bar staff wasn’t all that friendly, but I really thought Marsha was nice.
The front desk crew was mean to everyone in our party of 44 except for me - the bride. It was a shame, since they were the first and last people guests saw in the resort. That might leave a bad taste in your mouth. They definitely needed improvement in the area of social skills!
We had our wedding on the west beach at 4:00 pm. We met with the reverend before the big day for counseling...that was interesting. He was definitely old fashioned and Jamaican! We hired Paul to take our photos, and he did a wonderful job. When we first met him, we didn’t know what to expect, but we couldn’t have been happier with the results!
The wedding was nice, but windy, so I recommend putting your hair up and no wisps! There was one very rude German woman who decided she wanted front row to our wedding and her kids were very noisy…I hope she lost all of her luggage on the way back and was cavity searched. Besides that, we had a great time, great memories and I would recommend this type of wedding to anyone. |

We just returned from our very first trip to Jamaica. I am glad we chose Runaway Bay and the Club Caribbean instead of the 'too busy' Ocho Rios.
The ocean front cottages are a must! I can't find anything to complain about. The staff was friendly and efficient, the food was good, drinks were excellent and we never had to wait for anything. The jetty bar was a great place to hang out during the day to listen to music and watch the little fish.
We went on a couple of excursions which we booked through the hotel and we were not disappointed. We definitely want to come back to Jamaica. |

It was fantastic - our wedding paradise! Visited: October 2002 |

We were here in October, and got married in the resort. We couldn't fault the entertainment or staff.
The wedding was all we had dreamed of, the flowers were beautiful and the service was fantastic. A big thanks to Anne -the wedding co-ordinator.
We met a lot of nice people - staff and holiday makers - who we have already met again since we have been back home.
The place was very clean and well looked after, the food was excellent and the service was good.
We took two daughters with us, one of 9 and one of 17. There was not much there for the 17 year old, but the 9 year old really enjoyed herself.
We will be back without a doubt and can't wait. We were so glad we went to Club Caribbean instead of any of the big hotels.
