This place was a nightmare. Visited: August 2007 |

This hotel was disgrace to the Jamaica Tourist Board and the Jamaica Hotel Association.
The information on the web site was misleading and incorrect. The place has fallen apart and was in disrepair. This hotel should be officially closed.
I felt like this was definitely highway robbery, and a stay here would be unfair to innocent travelers. |

I have stayed at many hotels in the Caribbean, Europe and the United States. This was one of the better ones for the rating anywhere.
I have stayed at Blue Harbour several times, and never considered doing any reviews until I read some of the negative ones posted here.
When I came here in July, they gave me a room that I was not satisfied with. It was small, and appeared to be falling apart. I complained, and even said I would lose the money for the night and go find another hotel even if I had to pay more.
I did not have to. I was put in a bigger room within the hour. True, it was not a five-star but it was clean and quiet, and the staff was great.
It was not on the main strip, but that was part of the beauty of the hotel. You are close to the Hip Strip, and yet far enough away to get some relaxation time.
It would be nice if the hotel could be fixed up better, but I have always felt safe here. |

My family stayed at the Blue Harbour Hotel in June of this year.
The rooms were large, spacious and inviting. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a great place to relax and unwind.
Stay at Blue Harbour and experience the real Jamaica. It really has a "home away from home" atmosphere. We will definitely be back! |

This is a great place to vacation. Get settled, and the staff will give you all the "dos and dont's" of Montego Bay. It's such a relaxed atmosphere!
Also, they offer free transfers to different restaurants in Montego Bay.
It's a great price, too. |

My wife and I, and friends of ours have stayed at the Blue Harbour on three occasions, and are planning to go back in
2008.
The rooms are clean, and everything works (or the staff will make it work!). People have to realize this is a two-star hotel, and it's in Jamaica.
The restaurant and poolside bar always look closed, but if you ask the cook he'll be glad to make you breakfast. Also, if you go to the pool, they will open the bar and put on some music.
It's a ten-minute walk to downtown Montego Bay, and there's a store and craft market within one block. We like this little place, and we'll always recommend it to our friends who want to experience Jamaica like it really is. |

At the last minute I decide to go to JA for Sunfest 05. Everything in Montego Bay was booked except for this place RED FLAG #1. When I checked in the credit card machine was broken so I was harrased my entire stay to bring my credit card to the front desked to be swiped. My room was not spacious as I read on previous reviews berfore booking this place. It was the size of a janitiors closet, the bedroom was infested with mosqutioes and the bathroom was infested with red ants. To top it all off, the minute I went to turn on my 1982 19" inch TV (minus a remote contol) it blew up, smoking up the room. The only thing the staff offered was a can of air fresener. No new room, no replacement television. There I was stuck with no TV, no radio, and the phone service stops when the front desk closes. The staff offered me nothing in lieu of my weekend stay being ruined. Just that the manager is not in and there is nothing they can do. |

Blue Harbour Hotel was a mystery at the start. The rooms were very large which was nice but the bathrooms were unclean and the airconditioning was very loud. You could see part of the harbour from the balcony but except for that little spot there was larger buildings in front. The hotel area was close to the middle of town. Long walk to Doctors Cave Beach. I was unhappy with this hotel and which I was staying at the hotel across from the Doctors Cave Beach for the same or less price! Need any more information about the island contact me at my email address provided. |

Got ROBBED during our sleep... Visited: December 2004 |

Blue Harbour Hotel is the worse in every possible way you can think of, the staff was a bunch of walking monkeys who can't seen to count from 1 to 3 without jumping for a banana. Well to make a long story short, during our sleep someone came into our room and robbed us of cash and a camera and that manager seen to did'nt really care that it happened or was the least interested in helping us recover our items. The staff was like the worse you can ever get, when it comes to staff service, this is one of the certain place that you would never want to carry your kids or even consider staying. I could go on for hrs more about this jackass place, but i got more important things to do, than to rant about how boonie this place is. |

First of all this hotel is very low class and poorly maintained. Well the situation that occured which had me very upset had occured a few times in the past. So one has to wonder if they are running a scam. What happened was this, someone came into our room which was locked and stole a camera and all our money. we reported it to the front desk but they did not call the police and said that we had to wait for the manager. We waited for practically 2 hrs which then they called the police. I doubt they are real cops because they had no ID or Badge, just people in plain clothes. Well there was not much done and all the manager could say was that he was sorry for the inconvenience. We got no compensation, no refund, nothing. So again i think this hotel is running a scam. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SO CALLED HOTEL.

Our stay at Blue Harbour was wonderful. We did not have a lot of money to spend on hotels, so finding this little gem was a real delight.
Blue Harbour may not have been fancy, but the rooms were spacious and clean, and the staff was friendly.
If you are looking for a little get away and don't want to spend a lot on your rooms, I would recommend Blue Harbour. |

Blue Harbour treated me with the same respect I treated it.
My room was large, clean, and cool. I was greeted with a bowl of fresh fruit.
I felt like family immediately, and found the staff was helpful with information I needed to fully enjoy my budget vacation.

With tourism down one might think a place like the Blue Harbour would go out of its way to provide a pleasant vacation stay, but that was not the experience my family and I had.
The place was clean (some ants) but the rooms are overpriced for the age and condition of the hotel. After quoting $54 per night they later increased it to $67 to cover the continental breakfast (toast and coffee!). Regular breakfast at the hotel restaurant was expensive. Service was glacial and indifferent.
Transportation to dinner restaurants was supposed to be free, but we had to pay anyway. And to top things off, someone got into my son's room and stole money and a camera. He had fallen asleep without locking the door. The front desk didn't call the police until I insisted.
At checkout the desk clerk offered nothing but excuses and declined to offer any kind of "make good". No reimbursement for dinner transportation, no compensation (like a discount or rebate) for the trauma and incovenience of being robbed on their premises. Nothing. Just excuses. They only wanted to take our money and see the back of us. Needless to say, I will never again stay at the Blue Harbour Hotel. |

This was a last minute reservation, and I must admit, I wanted to be near friends staying at the Wyndham. When I walked in the room, I was ready to leave but could not because of the two night penalty. I got some rest but the electricity went out and the heat woke me up. |

No Mod Cons Visited: June 2001 |

The location of the hotel was fantastic, the staff was friendly and the rooms spacious and clean—but that’s the only good thing I can say.
The hotel was very basic (surprising since it’s in Mo Bay and faces stiff competition). The menu was very limited and certain foods were not available on most of the days. The air conditioning was very noisy. And please do not ask about the ironing board, which was literally falling apart. We experienced three power cuts and guess what, the hotel did not have a back up generator!
It was well overpriced. The hotel generally needs work. This is a good hotel for staying one or two nights, but for longer stays--forget it.

We spent two nights here in May 2001. The hotel was up on a steep hill overlooking the sea and town, so it would be good to have a car to get there, as it is not really in walking distance to anything.
The staff was pleasant and helpful. The rooms were confortable. They were nothing fancy, mind you. The grounds were nice enough. It was also quiet, and reasonably neat and tidy.
The best thing was that it was away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist strip.
There wasn't really anything to do here, though. It was not a vacation spot. It was simply a decent place to stay when passing through Montego Bay. |

This Montego Bay hotel is just the right blend of down home hospitality and island charm. Along with the views and good service, the great, relaxed atmosphere of this hotel is why I will be back. |
