CocoLaPalm Resort - Jamaica

Minnesota owned and operated CocoLaPalm presents a classically Caribbean series of duplex bungalows right on the beach in Negril. With whitewashed stucco and stained native wood trim exteriors, the interiors are tiled, the feeling is romantic, spacious and breezy. Plus, CocoLaPalm underwent a complete facelift in 2002, giving a makeover to the exteriors, gardens and refurbishing the Jr. Suites. They also added ten new standard rooms as well as five one- and two-bedroom suites.

There are three grades of rooms available; standard, deluxe, superior and suites with a beach, pool or garden view. All rooms have private patios or balconies, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, cable television with remote control, telephones, refrigerators, and in-room coffee. Superior rooms have a sitting/dining area and junior suites are big enough to be called full suites in U.S. hotels. The hotel is nicely appointed and well thought out. The rooms are upstairs and down; the upper rooms seem to have better views overall but of course the bottom rooms are more convenient.

The property is nicely landscaped and very attractive with palm trees, bougainvillea, and hibiscus. The pool and Jacuzzi are central to the complex, with a bar and restaurant overlooking the beach. You will find the staff friendly and attentive to your needs. Nearby all watersports are available and the snorkeling is OK right off the beach (there are daily snorkeling trips to the reef available also).

CocoLaPalm is not the cheapest place on the beach, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. You will find the accommodations to be all you expect, with the warmth and personal service characteristic of a small hotel.
