I found my new home! Visited: June 2009 |

On my fourth trip to Jamaica, I've finally found my new home.
This place had everything I needed to make my stay the most relaxing ever: a fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds, and ceiling fans that blew like the tradewinds (kept mosquitos off at night!).
The grounds were so lush, beautiful and immaculently kept every day. This place truly had the most beachfront along Seven Mile Beach, which made for the most amazing and stunning sunsets I've ever experienced!
I strongly recommend a stay at Nirvana on the Beach. I'll definitely be back! |

It was absolutely amazing! Visited: March 2009 |

My family of four stayed in cottage #4. It was absolutely perfect for us. It was close to the beach, private, and set in beautiful surroundings. We loved the location on the beach, and found it to be the most beautiful beach in either direction.
The staff at Nirvana made our whole experience one that we will treasure forever. The gals who cleaned and cooked for us were some of the most wonderful people I have ever met.
The security staff - Shine, Moses, and Errol - took extremely good care of us. We felt safe and protected from vendors at all times, and we were able to totally relax on the beach. They became like family to us, and will always be held dearly in our hearts.
If we ever return to Negril, we will definitely stay at Nirvana again. |

We were here celebrating our 25th anniversary. It was everything I wanted.
It was very private, clean, and safe. The staff was friendly, and the rooms were wonderful.
We have stayed in many places, but found this to be the best. The all inclusives are too busy and crowded. This place was wonderful. We will go back again. |

I stayed at Nirvana on the Beach in November of 2008. I traveled alone, and I needed somewhere that was safe and affordable without the touristy crowds you find at most all inclusive resorts. I found exactly what I needed at Nirvana!
It was a week of absolute paradise. The beach was amazing, the accommodations were safe, clean and very welcoming. The security guards, drivers, and house keepers were absolutely accommodating - all I had to do was ask and it magically appeared for me.
Nirvana is a first class place for those of you who are looking for a truly relaxing holiday. |

This is a magically wonderful beachfront property, with awesome staff. Visited: October 2008 |

Our trip was everything we were hoping it would be - and then some.
For starters, the photos on their home page did very little to really show just how beautiful and well maintained the property was. Just from cruising up and down the beach, it was clear that Nirvana had the nicest facilities on the beach. The grounds were so well maintained that it almost appeared that we were always the first people to walk on the sand.
While we were here, we stayed in the Sundeck Suite, which provided us with a wide open wonderful view of the property and the beach immediately in front of us. The kitchenette was more than enough to allow us to cook the majority of our meals while visiting.
One thing that really pleased us was the fact we could store our food on the counter, and never once encountered a bug problem.
The staff was no doubt the unsung heroes of our visit to Negril. The ladies always found a way to have our room and deck cleaned without once ever being seen. It really went a long way to instilling a sense of privacy.
We also had the pleasure of having the ladies cook a lobster dinner for us - which was no doubt the best meal I think we had. your lobster directly from the local fisherman just made it that much better.
I want to make special mention of Errol and Moses who were always there to see that our every need and comfort were taken care of. These two men were perhaps the two people we were in contact with the most and what great guys they are. No doubt we missed them within days of returning to Texas.

I enjoyed every part of it.
I like that it has its own, authentic identity, which doesn't seem the case with most of the larger resort type of places in Negril. I guess the people who work in Nirvana make the difference. But it also just feels and looks nice.
Anyway, we will definitely be back. |

It was even better than we expected. Visited: June 2008 |

I have been delaying writing my review because that means that our stay at Nirvana really is over. My husband and I stayed here from June 17-22 and Nirvana was truly what made our vacation as wonderful as it was.
I had read the other reviews about this place, and how you really feel at home and leave as a friend. But I was not prepared for how true this was.
Each time we came across a new staff member on the grounds, they came to us with a smile and introduced themselves, asked for our names, and actually remembered them. They kept up with our day to day schedule, and knew when we were leaving and would be back.
I also have to give two thumbs up for the invisible housekeeping staff. I never saw them, but we always came back to a clean room and fresh towels, even if we only stepped out for an hour.
I would have to say that I have never seen a place that made you immediately feel at home and always kept things on a personal level, rather than you being treated like just a customer. All of the Jamaican people were kind hearted and wonderful, but I would have to say that the staff at Nirvana was just a step above the rest.
We will especially miss the three wonderful security guards! In addition to the staff, our room and the entire grounds were beautiful and very comfortable. It was definitely worth every penny.
If we ever go back to Jamaica, we will head straight for Nirvana. |

Great beach gateway! Visited: May 2008 |

My boyfriend and I stayed at Nirvana in May 2008 for four nights, and were fully satisfied with what we found at Nirvana. It was exactly what we expected, choosing it over busy all-inclusive resorts and hotels. It felt like owning our own place right on the beautiful beach.
The place was peaceful, friendly, and surrounded by a beautiful tropical garden. The rooms (we stayed at the Sundeck Suite) were clean, neat and very cozy. We also had a well equipped kitchen to cook our own breakfast or lunch. At nights, we opened windows and enjoyed the sounds of the "jungle"! There was really no need for air conditioning. We had only ceiling fans on, and that was enough to keep us cool.
The staff of Nirvana was very caring and friendly. They were a great help in organizing, and getting in touch with a driver, the water sports places, and other things.
There was no restaurant or bar at Nirvana, but there were great places right around the corner.
We are definitely coming back!

It was our first time staying on the beach at Negril. We usually stay in the cliffs, so this was a new experience for us.
We really loved Nirvana. The property was maintained very well, with lots of pretty plants, hammocks and swings to relax in. In addition, the location was great because we were close to many beach bars and some good restaurants.
It was very family-friendly, also. They had a playhouse full of toys and beach floats, as well as swings for kids to enjoy.
It was very safe for families, too. It had a gate around the property, and the security is great.
We plan to go back someday with our son. |

Try another place. Visited: December 2007 |

I thought it was a poor value. There were so many other nice resorts on Negril to stay in. Don't get locked in here.
I suggest you try Kuyaba, or Country Country, or Sea Splash for a few ideas. This place was a real disappointment. |

Nirvana: The way Negril should be! Visited: November 2007 |

Last November, my husband and I spent nine glorious days at Nirvana - a reasonably priced, well appointed bastion of the "old Negril" located in the best part of the town's famous seven-mile beach.
Here, there are no fancy atriums, no aestheticians waiting to slather you with exotic oils, and no sub-standard all-inclusive meal plans; just a lovely private beach, comfortable bungalows and the most friendly and accommodating staff we have ever met at any of the luxury resorts we have stayed in on our eight visits to Jamaica!
Leon, our driver, picked us up at the airport in Mo Bay, having had to wait two hours due to our delayed arrival. He was smiling, happy we finally arrived, and willing to stop for beverages and snacks en route to Negril.
At Nirvana, we were greeted by Sigi, the manager, who made sure we found our bungalow satisfactory. And, in spite of intermittent rain, we spent most of our vacation on their expansive, private beach where Rocky looked on, assuring our privacy and arranging snorkeling and other activities.
We felt that the entire staff at Nirvana were committed unconditionally to our comfort and well-being and did not, at any point of our stay, expect extra compensation.
We recommend Nirvana for romantic getaways and families alike, and will definitely stay there on our next visit to Negril. |

Nirvana was a rustic beauty. Visited: October 2007 |

We stayed for three days at Nirvana, to belatedly celebrate our anniversary. We had no personal recommendations for Nirvana, only the comments posted on the Internet.
We are used to staying at more upscale resorts or hotels, and so at first blush, were a little disappointed in what we saw. But we had the most tranquil weekend!
The staff, as many have said, were truly wonderful and most caring. Moses, Moses, Rocky, Sydney, the housekeepers, and Ziggy, were all very attentive and meticulous in their responsibilities.
Even though it's recommended to keep your valuables in their available safes, we felt very comfortable leaving our things in the room, and never felt insecure at any time while on the resort premises, whether in the room, or on the beach. Any issues which we did present to the staff were promptly addressed.
It was wonderful that we detached from the electronic world for that few days. There were no TVs or radios in the rooms, and we didn't even notice a phone (even if there was one). The A/C was an older unit and quite noisy - we used it more to remove the humidity than for cooling the room - but our post-visit comments to the owners have assured us that this would be addressed.
The place is dated, so a bit on the rustic side. However, we felt that it was well cared for, and always clean and tidy. We enjoyed the hummingbirds searching for food among the flowers on the property, and the abundance of large trees kept our room and the surrounding area relatively cool, even in the middle of the day.
The beach was fantastic! It was always well groomed by the groundskeepers. We had only to ask for chairs or other things, and Moses was immediately on the job. As has been noted elsewhere, you always were comfortable knowing that he was in the background, ready to stave off the locals selling their wares, if you wanted to be left alone.
We have traveled internationally often, and are used to these vendors, so mostly were not bothered; only one man made a nuisance of himself, and Moses was there to assist.
The water was calm and refreshing, and even a few fish deemed us worthy of their presence!
Overall, we truly enjoyed our peaceful time here, and would recommend Nirvana to anyone who wants a simpler place to unwind; an unstuffy place where one can relax and rejuvenate! |

Nirvana was a vacation not to be forgotten. Everything was perfect. There was no air, and no tv....but none of it mattered. If you enjoy beautiful beaches, beautiful gardens and beautiful sunsets....Nirvana is the place to be!
The staff was there for us in every way. Moses, Shine, Leon, Rocky, Syndey, Leoni made our stay perfection! Moses watched us and made us feel safe during the day, and Shine made us feel safe at night.
Thank you to everyone who made our vacation spectacular. I will be back! |

This was the ideal Negril getaway. The bungalows were huge and lovely, and the vast sandy beach reached all the way up to our patio. We could've spent the whole trip barefoot if we wanted.
The staff at Nirvana was superb - our room was always clean and if we needed anything, Moses took care of us. |

I absolutely loved staying at Nirvana. The grounds were nice, and the cottage had a real nice Jamaican feel. I thought not having an A/C unit and a TV would have been an issue for me. However, the fans were very efficient and I didnt even remember about television!
I love the fact that the lovely beach was only a one-minute walk from the cottage. Also, the staff was very accommodating and friendly.
Thank you guys! I am looking forward to staying here again! Keep up the good work! |

It was "Paradise Perfection"! Visited: July 2007 |

Our family's visit to Nirvana was the very best trip we could have realized - after spending months of dreaming about it! We had not visited Jamaica before, and wanted a non-hotel, real kind of experience. We were not at all disappointed.
The staff was beyond compare - Breezy, Moses, Sidney, Rocky, Moses II, all of the ladies and Sigi - you all made our visit so perfect!
The cottage was just right for our family - plenty of together space, but privacy, too. And the kitchen served our needs perfectly.
The grounds could not be more breathtaking, and the beach was the best along the Seven Mile stretch. We always felt safe, yet were never more than a short beach walk away from any type of food or evening entertainment.
What a perfect paradise! Lonnie, Stanley and staff - Thank you all! |

My husband and I have stayed at Nirvana twice. We haven't been back a month, and are already talking about our next trip here.
We stayed in the Verandah suite. It had a wonderful view, and we enjoyed sitting on the verandah every evening of our trip.
The grounds of Nirvana were beautiful, and very well kept. This wasn't a big concrete resort- this is the real Jamaica. It was just beautiful!
The staff was terrific. The security here was very good, too. Also, the housekeepers were there for anything we would possibly need. Although, once you get settled in, you will find everything you need is already there!
I can't say enough good things about Nirvana! It was really paradise! Once you leave here, you will be thinking of how to get back! |

We are regular travelers to Negril and to Seven Mile Beach. We found this resort on the web, made contact with Lonnie, and booked the Sundeck Suite for our honeymoon.
From the minute we arrived, we felt welcomed, safe and very peaceful. The grounds were very private and quiet, and the Sundeck Suite was completely private.
The staff was awesome. They were friendly and extremely helpful. Also, the security was very actively making certain that only authorized persons were on the property.
The beach was incredible, and the resort was situated right in the middle of all activity. We will return to Nirvana! |

We enjoyed our Nirvana honeymoon. Visited: June 2007 |

My husband and I spent nine days of our honeymoon at Nirvana, and enjoyed our stay immensely. We were in the heart of the beach community, and spent some time at the local pubs, restaurants and shops.
The people of Jamaica were extraordinarily kind to us. Everyone asked us every day, "Everyting good?". It was just like having family there because they so obviously cared that our stay in Negril be a good one.
The staff at Nirvana was always extremely helpful and very willing to answer all of our questions, and to share their knowledge of Jamaica's history with us. We have since been reading up on our own.
We felt very safe and comfortable - not only at Nirvana, but on the beach and on the road as well.
We are looking forward to going back to Nirvana in the future. |

This is a very special and beautiful place to stay. My husband and I enjoyed our honeymoon at Nirvana very much.
The beach was gorgeous. Moses made sure we were not bothered, and we always felt very safe both on the beach and on the grounds.
Lyn watched over us, and made us feel like family. The staff was very attentive and helped to make sure we had the best honeymoon ever!
It is important to know that Hurricane Dean did not hurt Negril or Nirvana, and that both are waiting to welcome you. If you are thinking of going, don't hesitate to experience one of the nicest places in all of Negril. |
