This is a great low-key resort. Visited: July 2005

My wife was a substitute aerobics instructor for one week. And even with her working during the day having three classes, we still had a blast.

We had an oceanfront suite. We could literally hear the ocean every night and every morning. We really enjoyed the Sabbia restaurant, which was right outside our room. The service was super, and the food was very good.

The staff was marvelous throughout the whole resort, and the Nanny program was very unique, and the kids seemed to enjoy every minute. Pebbles is geared towards young kids and teenagers, and every child I saw seemed to be having a great time.

We also made lifelong friends with several young staff members. I'm waiting for Pebbles to call for another sub instructor!

We had an absolutely wonderful family vacation! Visited: January 2005

We have just returned from FDR Pebbles and can't say enough wonderful things about it. It was the best vacation we've had in years! We went for a week with our two kids, ages five and four.

Here's what we wanted: a low key, kid-friendly, casual and fun resort that was comfortable and had good food. We got all of the above. We did not want a busy, loud location, and we didn't care about luxury; we didn't get either.

Pebbles was wonderful because it was small. Everyone got to know everyone, the kids had the run of the place in a safe environment, and adults got a much-needed vacation.

Don't take fancy clothes (my kids went without shoes for the entire week); don't expect the Ritz, but not the Holiday Inn, either; don't look for nightlife (a few parents drinking beer in the bar at around 9:00 was about as wild as it got); don't go if you don't have small children (everything there was geared toward kids under 10 and their parents).

Do go if you like to spend quality fun time with your young kids, if you like personal attention from the very friendly staff, if you love beautiful weather and grounds in a quiet setting, if you want an economical vacation that doesn't feel like one, if you just want to relax and get away from it all.

We had an oceanfront room and felt like we were sleeping on the beach (a good thing). The second floor oceanfront rooms overlooked the ocean and have cathedral ceilings. The rooms looked cabin-like, and they were quite spacious and comfortable for kids and adults. The kids had a separate sleeping area separated by a 3/4 wall.

Our vacation nanny, Sharlene, was incredibly patient and sweet with our kids. We already miss her a lot! All the nannies seemed very nice, but Sharlene was special.

One final note: We visited Sandals and Coyaba Beach Resorts while we were there. We learned that we did not care for the big, chain resort type of place (Sandals). Coyaba Beach (small, intimate hotel) was incredibly luxurious and kid-friendly, but it had no nannies and was easily twice as expensive.

If you like the Sandals-type experience, Pebbles probably isn't for you. If you like the idea of Coyaba Beach but don't like the price, you'll love Pebbles, especially because of the added benefit of the nannies.

This is the best place in Jamaica for families with teens. Visited: March 2004

I have been home for one week, and I really miss everyone there. We met wonderful people, and the staff was outstanding. I can't think of one bad thing to say about the service we received. We loved our nanny Arlene, she was super!

I thought this was the best place for teens because we didn't have to worry about them. The staff took care of them, and they were supervised. It was a small resort, so we knew where they were at all times.

I have to say that if you are a picky eater, and like to party when you go away...this is not the place for you. There wasn't very much nightly entertainment, and the food was different - even the burgers and hotdogs. So if you or anyone in your family is picky...then perhaps you should pick a cruise.

There were lots of fun things to do, with great tours and tour guides, and every staff member was wonderful. The rooms were very nice, too. I would for sure recommend this resort!

The best place to take kids. Visited: March 2003

We have traveled to several all-inclusive resorts. Pebbles, by far, was the best place for kids. The nannies were great.

It was not a very large resort, so it was easy to move around. It was also easy to meet other people. The rooms were comfortable.

Everyone had children there, so we could relax knowing that the children were not annoying newlyweds, couples, or people who do not like children.

The food was excellent. I cannot say enough about the quality - as well as quantity - available. The fresh fruits were wonderful. The only negative was that most of the desserts had a heavy taste of rum.

This was the very best family vacation we have ever had! Visited: March 2003

I cannot say enough about this resort!

Four months after our stay at Pebbles, we are still raving about our experience and that is the reason I am writing this now!

The staff was by far, the very best quality of this resort. All the staff - from the entertainment team and the front desk staff, to the all the restaurant staff - contributed to make our holiday a once in lifetime experience!

Ian was part of the entertainment team and he (along with everyone else) made us feel like we were part of one big family. They were all responsible, hard working, talented and extremely personable individuals!

O'Neil was part of the restaurant staff, and he treated us like royalty! He went out of his way to make sure we were happy! If there was anything we wanted from the bar or buffet, he would go out of his way to bring it to us. The food was always really good, but for a special treat, the adult restaurant was a nice change. Service and food there was also terrific.

Emilio, at the front desk went out of his way to change our room to accommodate our expectations.

Our sons are 13 and 10, but we never feared where they were on the property. As this resort was only on three acres, someone always seemed to know exactly where our sons were, whom they were with and what they were doing.

The pre-teen and teen clubs were outstanding Our sons were constantly busy "hanging out" at their clubs! Sadiki took out the teens to snorkel and my 13-year-old son saw sights he would never have experienced on his own.

Our children were too old to have a nanny, but all we heard were positive comments about how wonderful it was to have the luxury of a nanny!

If I had any criticism, it would be about the beach. There was very little beach area to sit. However, I found that even though I am a beach person, I did not want to leave the pool area as so many fun activities were taking place.

No guilt trips or pressures were put on us to take part, but as this resort was small, we got to know so many of the guests. Taking part in the games was simply a great way to pass the day! We made friends with so many people at this resort, some of which, we have planned to meet up with next March.

All to say, Pebbles had something for each and everyone in our family and we are counting the days until we return! Our sons are even willing to sacrifice birthday and Christmas gifts in order to return. We would not hesitate to recommend this resort to anyone!

Great fun! Visited: August 2002

Checking in, I didn't expect the hotel to be moving much, but boy was I wrong!

The entire staff, from Ian and Sheldon, the activity coordinators, to Marlyn and Simpson the bartenders, to Charline the nanny were all extremely friendly and made the trip so much more enjoyable.

There was so much to do here - scuba diving and snorkeling or relaxing by the pool. And for the kids, internet service was available for 15 cents/minute, or they could enjoy playing Nintendo 64 in the Kiddie Center.

I would recommend a vacation at FDR Pebbles for a family looking to get away from the stress in their life. The all-inclusive factor made it so much easier to enjoy ourselves.

An awesome place for the active family. Visited: November 2001

We stayed at FDR Pebbles over the Thanksgiving holiday 2001. The staff on hand became like family by the end of our 10-day stay. We actually miss the staff and try to keep in touch with them as often as we can.

I would like to recognize each staff member individually, but I wouldn't know where to begin or who would start with! From the kitchen and bar staff to the nannies, the activity coordinators and even the supervisor - they were all down-to-earth, awesome people who made the resort a great place to stay. They made sure the guests were enjoying their stay to the fullest and did whatever it took to accomplish just that.

The teen center staff (Ian) and the kiddie center staff (Rick and Cole) were like brothers to my children (ages 12 and 15). I have recently booked a trip for this year and am looking forward to seeing the "family" again soon.

Wonderful experience! Visited: August 2001

Our stay at FDR Pebbles was a great holiday. Our girls are 12 and 14 years and enjoyed the Teen Club enormously. The staff was so friendly and definitely made the hotel. By the end of the 2 weeks that we spent there they were all on first name terms and like old friends.

Food was excellent quality and we especially enjoyed the adults-only Italian restaurant and could never understand why parents didn't take advantage of the cheap babysitting rates (£1.50 approximately per hour!) and visit it.

The hotel was quiet, but staff goes to a lot of trouble even with such low occupancy, as it was when we were there. There was always something going on. We would definitely return. Although we did not use them, the Nannies allocated on arrival for parents with young children are a real bonus; what a great idea.

The scuba diving was instructed by an English lady, Glenda, who was very good. The Teen Club Program Coordinator was Ian Brown. He always ensured us that the girls were well looked after. We hardly saw them and they were never bored.

All I can say is FDR Pebbles is that it’s well worth a visit if you have kids.

It was an overall good weekend on the north coast. Visited: July 2001

When we got to the hotel a cheerful staff greeted us. The place was colorfully decorated and kept in a good condition. Our rooms were nicely laid out with a private bedroom, bathroom and closet. A T.V. room was at the front and the sofa could transform into a bed to accommodate more than 3 people.

The staff interacted quite often with my family and I; they were very helpful. The nanny service was excellent. The daily activities were quite exciting and the nightlife was a lot of fun.
