This is my home away from home. Visited: April 2008

I have been staying here since December 2006, and just returned from a visit May 3, 2008. Forget those all-inclusives and stay here. If you truly want to experience Jamaica, this is your spot.

Home Sweet Home is intimate and cozy with only 14 rooms. The rooms are no frills, but they are clean. The staff is friendly and outgoing. I usually stay during the off season when it is not fully staffed, but I'm okay with that because it gives me a chance to mingle with the locals.

There are many places within walking distance to have a cheap, good meal.

I was here once during "high" season, and it was amazing! They have a restaurant on site with great food. I am a woman who travels alone, and the staff looked out for my safety which is important to me. I stayed at one of the beachside resorts once, and was overcome by watching the locals "hustling" the tourists on the beach.

The vibes on the cliffs are easy and laid back. Home Sweet Home is the perfect place to decompress. The property is beautiful and serene, with fabulous views of the ocean - and spectacular sunsets in the evening.

Charlie, leave the light on for me because I'll be back in October! I'm already counting the months!

I have been vacationing at Home Sweet Home since I was 15 years old, and have gone back once a year since - and I am now 31.

I love the resort's views of the ocean from the cliffs and balconies. It's a great place to cliff jump, snorkel, read and hang with your friends and family.

If you are looking for an inexpensive, clean and comfortable place to stay in Negril, check out Home Sweet Home. Located on the cliffs, away from the hustle and bustle of the beach scene, HSH offers a great way to enjoy Jamaica.

Friendly helpful staff, good food and location are all pluses to the small resort. The guests are almost always people you would want to hang out with and enjoy a beautiful sunset.

Be sure to check out room 12 for amazing view of the ocean day and night.

It was total relaxation. Visited: March 2008

My husband and I had an incredible time at Home Sweet Home Resorts in Negril, Jamaica. It was a quiet and peaceful place to unwind and enjoy the beautiful weather every day.

The staff was very helpful, and fun to be around.

Also, I received a great massage on the cliffs, complete with the sounds of the ocean and a warm Jamaican breeze. It was amazing!

There was much to do and many fun things to see.

I would recommend it!

Charlie is the owner of this place and, let me tell you, he is a wonderful person and takes great care of you.

He recommended all sorts of sidetrips and chatted with us every day to be sure we were having a nice time.

The rooms are great, too. Each one has a gorgeous view of the ocean.

You can't go wrong staying here.

It is like going home to relax. They have great food, people and fantastic snorkeling right off the front of the property.

Be sure to catch the sunsets with a rum punch on the lounge chairs overlooking the deep blue sea.

It is "home sweet home" indeed! Visited: January 2008

Home Sweet Home was just perfect. It was very intimate and private.

The views off the balconies were absolutely breathtaking. To the east you can see the gorgeous beaches and to the west, the amazing sunsets.

It was the perfect vacation day to have coffee in the restaurant on the cliff's edge, and then a day of soaking up the sun on the cliffs themselves - or sightseeing the West End.

I will go back as soon as I can.

This is an adorable spot by the sea. Visited: August 2007

What an adorable little resort. They move at a llower pace than the big chains, but it is very relaxing.

It's right on the cliffs, with a stairway right down to the water, perfect for snorkeling or just taking a dip in the ocean. Sunsets are amazing.

Our room was the "penthouse," with 180 degree view of the ocean, private balcony and hammock, windows on three sides, beautiful sunshine and breezes. It was perfect for a relaxing getaway.

I would definitely go back again. Prices are a bargain!

You can snorkel right off the patio deck! At sunset, sit on the patio deck and enjoy! Eat jerk at nearby grills, and enjoye easy sounds at the resort bar, very native.

There is loads of relaxation to be found here. Nearby are hotspots and other diversions, too. I'd return in a heartbeat. My son can't wait to go back!

If you're looking for a relaxing place with great food...this is it.
The pool and jacuzzi are heated, and watching the sun go down or star gazing in warm water is to die for.

The new manager, "dat Pirate", is a wonderful host, with stories of his many years in Negril. Don't miss out on this place as it's a local secret.

A great place to stay! Visited: March 2001

I've stayed here 4 times in the last 3 years, and it's always been a clean and well maintained establishment, even in the off season. The weather is really hard on buildings and wiring in Jamaica and when you arrive, it may not look top notch, but don't let that worry you.

Go alone or with friends, you'll feel right at home. Explore the place. It's on the West End Road, so just step out of the gate and a cab is right there. There are several small snack shops within a short walking distance up the road, away from town, that sell everything you might need. Towards X'Tabi there's a Cambio for getting Jamaican dollars.

The kitchen may not be open late if the number of guests is low, but there are plenty of good places to eat in either direction.

The taxis and buses speed up and down the road, but don't be afraid to walk or rent a bike and ride in the daytime.

Five dollars will get you down to the beach but HSH is right on the water with wonderfully private sunning areas carved into the cliffs. You can walk to the bank in Negril in less than 20 minutes.

The glass bottom boat will come and pick you up, or you can swim, there's a small pool and hot tub, stay up all night and enjoy the stars.

At 1:00 am, I saw weird lights in the water coming up the coast, it was two night divers! I love this place! There are no TVs or phones in the rooms - which is super! There's a phone in the office. Some rooms have refrigerators.

There's an ice machine at the bar, which may or may not be open, but there's nothing to stop you from serving yourself if you bring your own beverages.

Home Sweet Home is for people who enjoy meeting locals and getting away from the noise of the beach and the staff is always very friendly.

You can show up at anytime and someone nice will be there to tuck you in. Take gifts and stuff for kids. Also, every room has a veranda and a view!

Home Sweet Home is compact, cozy and never crowded, it is perfect for lovers, and every time I've been there I've met someone special.

Things to take: Mosquito netting for the evenings.

Air conditioning is available. Yes, the towels are rough, but they are clean. There's also a small library in the office.

If Tesa is around, give her a hug from Jim.

The perfect week of relaxing. Visited: March 2001

Perfect! I spent eight days in the sun and among beautiful surroundings.

I traveled to Jamaica with a couple of friends and we stumbled upon this great place. From the rooms and the food to the ocean, sites, sounds, and best of all the staff, it was perfect.

Alex and his staff treated us like gold. Everyone here made us feel as if we were royalty. They took care of everything. Dexter, the bartender, would even fill up my banana daiquiri while I laid in a hammock on the cliffs of the ocean reading a book.

Whether it was the amazing pancake breakfast or a huge lobster dinner, the chef cooked some of the most memorable meals I've ever had. Watching the amazing sunset while feasting on fresh fish and hearing the sounds of the ocean crash against the cliffs was a unbelievable experience.

Don't let the name or the price fool you - this was the best intimate resort I've ever been to.

Best of all, it was so reasonable.

See you there again soon.

Nice secluded getaway with fabulous views. Visited: March 2000

This place was just what I was looking for. I went to Jamaica alone, in need of a personal retreat. Home Sweet Home was ideal. It's in Negril up on the cliffs, so the resort overlooks the ocean. It's a small resort, so you get very personal attention from the staff.

The food is great. The cliffs are beautiful. I felt very safe there. And the price was good. The only problem I had was with the towels. They weren't very soft. I would take my own towels next time.

This was truly a wonderful getaway. Visited: November 1999

My wife and I stayed at Home Sweet Home for ten days, and we had a terrific time!

Home Sweet Home was not one of the mega resorts like Sandals or Beaches. It was so much more peaceful, charming and relaxing. The resort was located on the west end of Negril, right on the oceanfront cliffs. There were stairs and plateaus built into the cliffs, so you can go down to the water and swim or snorkel.

The food at the restaurant on the property was excellent, and the staff was helpful and courteous.

My wife and I stayed in the Penthouse suite - which was an amazing room, with a huge ocean front balcony complete with a hammock and chairs.

There was a pool and Jacuzzi for those who are not crazy about the ocean. There were also lots of restaurants within easy walking distance from the resort, and the beach was only a short taxi ride away.

We had a wonderful time at this wonderful place!
