Staying at Nirvana was the best dream vacation ever. On arrival we were greeted by Shine the night security guard. I called him "Ninja" because he was always there in the shadows watching over you. Even when you don't see him, he is there! He showed us such wonderful hospitality from the get go. The housekeepers were the same (thank you Ms. Doris). They were always friendly, always smiling, and always trying to please. Errol was the day time security, and he was super duper special. He protected us from the peddlers on the outside of Nirvana, and would not allow anyone to take advantage of us. Because of this I knew that I could relax and not worry about the dangers that could be lurking out there on the beach. The staff made our family reunion perfect. By the end of the trip, it felt like both Errol, and Shine had become our brothers. They are truly special people. Also, while staying at Nirvana, I met a beautiful young lady by the name of Connie. She is a massage therapist who also braids hair. It was the best massage both my sisters and I have had. I am masseuse, so I know what's real and what's fake. Her hair braiding was very reasonably priced, too. I would reccommend her to anyone. Also, my sister got sun burned and one of our brothers had a slight mishap. Connie knew what to do and what leaves to pick to soothe their ailments. Although she did not come with the resort, you can find her along the beach area. Here you are surrounded by restaurants if you do not feel like cooking. Also, the supermarket, banks, money exchange places, a pharmacy, and the craft markets are all nearby. This place was definitely a winner. Special hugs to Moses, the groundsman. What a beautiful job he does on the landscaping. If you feel like drinking the milk of the coconut, talk with Moses. He'll climb the tree, pick it for you, and prepare it! I can't wait to go back - which will be in six months. Lots of hugs and kisses to you all at Nirvana. Thanks for everything. We spent two weeks at Xtabi Club Resort and we loved it. The food, especially the Lobster Thermidor, was great. The staff and management was very helpful, and made our stay a great experience. We loved it. |

Our stay was made fun by the friendly staff and beautiful, relaxing beaches! We found the rooms in this hotel pretty plain and small, so get a room with a view to make up for it. The gym was great, and despite the weather being bad for a few days (heavy rains), the staff was very accommodating. They even took us waterskiing in light rain! Take the Zip-Line Canopy tour if you get a chance during your stay. It's an amazing thrill! The water and the beach here were beautiful, but the beach was narrow. Food in the restaurants was okay for an all-inclusive, but we found that the Japanese restaurant was disappointing. Overall, we had a lot of fun. This resort was quite expensive, but we were able to find a great deal through. |

We stayed here from September 37th until October 11th. We found it pretty much the same as before. It was a very friendly place, and you get what you pay for. I would definitely return next year to see all my friends. |

Imagine walking out your room to find bananas hanging for your dining pleasure. There are also rope swings and hammocks. I enjoyed the full breakfast buffet with everything - breads, fruits, and eggs as you want them until 11 am. You can enjoy it while looking out over the Caribbean. The staff is great - always friendly and helpful. If you need something - no problem. All you have to do is ask. Also, you can't get much closer to the beach! |

We have been going to the Negril Tree House for almost 20 years now. This past January we spent three delightful weeks here. It is our "paradise on earth". From our first visit years ago, we noticed the friendly atmosphere and beautiful accommodations. The rooms are bright and refreshing, the grounds are kept perfectly, and the facilities are clean and updated regularly. The beach is very private, and vendors are kept at bay by Moses and the security staff. You are not bothered. The water sport crew is helpful and friendly. They have jet skis, parasailing and snorkling available. The included breakfast is the meal to start your day off. Omelets, breads, fruits, and veggies are just a few things on the buffet . The owners, Jimmy and Gail, are frequently in the buffet area to greet and assist with any vacationers questions. We highly recommend the Negril Tree House to any vacationers who are either new to Jamaica or seasoned travelers. Experience Jamaica here and not at an "all exclusive" as we call them. The Jamaican people you meet here really show you the country at its best. I am spending six weeks here this year. I hope to meet you there. |

My lovely new bride and I just returned from our honeymoon at Sandals Negril, and we both highly recommend a visit. The staff is professional, friendly, and extremely efficient. The grounds are well kept and spacioius, and the room was well furnished and clean. Dozens of activities are included in the room rate, including water skiing, tubing, glass bottom boat tours, snorkeling, water trikes, etc. Also included is transportation to and from the airport (a 90 or so minute trip that is entertaining in and of itself). The staff makes you feel like family! After a week's stay, we definitely didn't want to leave. We will be back for our one-year anniversary! |

This hotel is unbelievably bad. It is completely run down, and it is very dangerous. All of the swim platforms to the sea are broken. Plus, there is a major highway (Lighthouse Road) nunning right through the middle of it. Lighthouse Road passes between the restaurant and the reception area, and carries tour buses, trucks, and speeding cars at all hours of the day and night. Don't stay at this hotel. It is a complete ripoff. |

My wife and I stayed at Samsara in a pillar house. All I can say is that this is Jamaica. If you want to stay in a place you could find in any big city in the USA, then by all means, spend your money and go have Coors Light at the fancy places. If you want a vacation to Jamaica, this place is for you. Advice for sleeping...let yourself pass out! You're in Jamaica! The food is okay, and the drinks are strong. Have a good time meeting people and jumping off the cliffs all day long. Party as much or as little as you want. Nobody cares one way or the other. If this sounds good to you, Samsara is the place to be. It's safe, and the water is wonderful. Who cares if it closes at 10 pm? For all inclusive, go find a place to hang out if you want. You're on vacation, remember. I came here in August 2009, and now I'm returning in November 2009. One love. |

This is simply the worst possible hotel that you could ever imagine. We absolutely hated this place. It is a ripoff. We only paid $70 for the room, but the room stunk and was full of insects. There were bedbugs in the bed and cockroaches on the floor. We tried to get our money back and the manager gave us all kinds of attitude. These people are major con artists. EDITORS NOTE: You get what you pay for. I would not expect much from a $70 hotel in the states, much less in Jamaica. You paid for a cheap hotel and got it. |

What a difference new owners make! Xtabi was recently sold and the focus now is really on customer service. My wife and I decided to stay here since our first choice (Rockhouse) was sold out. It turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to us. We saved a lot of money and had a fantastic time at Xtabi. The new owners really know how to treat you right! |

Catcha Falling Star is one of the best places to stay in Negril. We stayed for three days on the cliffs, then three days on the beach. The beach was a big mistake. Ivan's Bar and Restaurant was excellent. The staff was very nice and happy. I would definitely go back. The room we stayed in was called "Virge". It was absolutely beautiful. |

On my fourth trip to Jamaica, I've finally found my new home. This place had everything I needed to make my stay the most relaxing ever: a fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds, and ceiling fans that blew like the tradewinds (kept mosquitos off at night!). The grounds were so lush, beautiful and immaculently kept every day. This place truly had the most beachfront along Seven Mile Beach, which made for the most amazing and stunning sunsets I've ever experienced! I strongly recommend a stay at Nirvana on the Beach. I'll definitely be back! |

We have stayed other places along the beach, and though we can't find a lot of fault with them, Negril Beach Club Condos definitely fulfilled what we were looking for. The beach area has got to be the best along the Seven Mile strip. The staff was very personable and helpful, and always wore a smile. The condos fit our lifestyle perfectly - no mess, no fuss and no problem. We don't set high standards when visiting Negril, so luxury is not a high priority. Face it, you're really not going to find much luxury along the beach here anyway. Luxury would take away from the very essence of Negril and the people. We come to Negril for the beach, the sunsets, the ocean views, the chats with new Jamaican friends and the local atmosphere and relaxation. Negril Beach Club Condos is perfect for all of that. I would highly recommend contacting Jean and working with her to fulfill your vacation dreams. You really can't lose here! |

We arrived here late in the evening for the second week of our honeymoon. When we got to our room, it looked like it had been vacant for months. There were dead spiders under our water glasses, and dust was on everything. The shower - and whole bathroom - was completely moldy. The bed was completely worn out. The next morning we requested a different room. After waiting over five hours for the manager to get into the office, we were finally shown three other rooms from our same category. The third room finaly didn't have a horrible mold problem. We discovered later on that there were more recently renovated rooms in the complex, but not in the category we had booked. Considering the poor condition, those rooms should not have been allowed to be booked until renovated. The excursions were a pain to book. We could only book snorkeling, catamaran, etc. up to one day ahead. The problem was that by 10 am the day ahead everything was full from guests going on trips multiple times. As honeymooners, we enjoyed sleeping in a little and would decide activities over breakfast. We weren't able to book snorkeling or the glass bottom boat ride once during our entire one-week stay. On the plus side, the food was excellent. There were many choices, the menus changed constantly, and service was fantastic. The grounds and beach were were well kept. However, there were vendors constantly selling something (including drugs and advertising nearby resorts). We felt constantly hassled. |

We did not have hot water to shower for two days. Also, there were lots of ants in the room. Once I complained, they said they would do something - and never did. The beach was across the street. It was very small, and was a long walk. If you need towels and maid service, you will have to wait until 2 pm. I had to use pool towels to shower. If you think you're getting three restaurants to eat in - you don't. There was one restaurant that was open two days out of six that I stayed here. I don't recommend this place, if you want a smooth vacation. |

We made a 14-day trip to Jamaica and found this beautiful place on the Internet. We wrote the owner (Charlie), and there were no problems for booking and getting all information we needed. Chris picked us up at the airport, brought us to HSH, and drove us wherever we wanted. He showed us his country - not the typical tourist attractions. In HSH we stayed at the penthouse. It had a breathtaking view. Most of the time we ate at Terry`s restaurant nearby. She cooked really good and typical Jamaican food. In addition, the whole staff was friendly, kind and helpful. We felt at home. We can recommend this home to everyone who would like to stay in Jamaica - not on a sand beach, without any noise, and without any beach vendors. Here, you'll find a lot of charm and character. |

We got married in Jamaica at the Sandals Negril Beach Resort and Spa on August 13, 2008. Following is a list of all the things that went wrong on a vacation that we paid for (and had family stay here for our wedding). Including family, flights, hotel, spa and extras, we spent about $30,000. Now, the company has offered to pay a new vacation credit of about $12,000. We have booked the trip, but believe that it does not compensate for the sadness I feel every time I look at my wedding pictures. 1. Before leaving, the ladies at Sandals wedding department in Miami waited until the last day before the deadline to let me know there were documents missing. They said that our answering machine was in French, therefore they did not want to leave a message. However, when we re-booked the trip that Sandals offered us as a credit, there was a French woman who returned our call. There should be no excuses when you have the staff. Thank goodness I called to make sure everything was okay, or we would have been penalized for their incompetence. 2. Before leaving, we booked a supper on the beach (which was recommended). We also paid for 8 X 10 photos for the wedding. The supper was booked for our last night (August 15, 2008). The last day of our stay, I mentioned the supper to the butler, and they had no reservations made. They forgot! Clyde (one of our butlers) rebooked it for us. As for the pictures, they cancelled the prepaid pictures, and gave us 5 X 7s instead. We complained, and they gave us our pictures. However, Sandals advertises "no hassles", and all there was were hassles and stress, even after pre-paying items ahead of time. 3. At the meeting with my wedding coordinator, I had pre-ordered flowers for my hair. The salon never got them. My butler went out and found some replacement flowers, after I panicked that the flowers were never received. She got me flowers, but they were not the flowers I had ordered and they did not match my bouquet. 4. They played music at our wedding after we specifically asked for no music. 5. Everyone accepted our tips. We even found that if we did not tip, the service was extremely slow and uncourteous. The only ones who did not accept our tip was, strangely enough, our cleaning lady and our butlers. 6. Some days there was lunch offered with service at certain restaurants. They would announce the restaurant on the daily pamphlet, but would always open late. We found this to be totally unprofessional and a far cry from five-star dining. 7. When we found out our niece was to join us for our wedding supper, we asked to change the place over to the Beaches so she could join (she's 12). We were coldly told, (the day before the wedding) "No we can't do that! You'll have to cancel everything and re-book everything over at the Beaches". There was no help or recommendations offered, after paying extra for the lobster dinner on the beach with four bottles of wine. (It's not like we took the free meal). At this point we were truly fed up. We had complained to the concierge, whom was condescending. However, he managed to accommodate us after complaining. But by then, she knew my dress was missing and this was the only reason why we believe she helped us in the first place. 8. The transfers between the Sandals and the Beaches was difficult. The stores would not use the cards attached to our bracelets at the Beaches Resort. It was too complicated for them. We had to bring cash to pay for sunscreen or any other thing from the gift shop. We went to visit our family who stayed there for one week. The ad read that it was seamless to benefit from all the Sandals and Beaches in Jamaica. We found that to be false. 9. I had sent out my dress to get pressed on the Thursday before the wedding, and they told me the day before our wedding (Tuesday) that my dress had "disappeared". I had to travel two hours away, to Montego Bay in thrift wedding shops to replace my wedding dress. I finally settled on a $70.00 dress which I could not wear my wedding lingerie under. Therefore, a $5,500.00 wedding dress, $1,000.00 worth of lingerie along with my $500.00 wedding shoes that were never worn or seen by my husband. Along with that, I lost an afternoon with my family, because I needed to shop for a dress at last minute. 10. We did get married on August 13, 2008. We had sent all the legal documents to the office in Miami. We did receive the license. However, they managed to screw that up, too. They put my age as 31 years when it should have indicated 32 years old. 11. To top it all off, they gave us the wrong size " just married" shirts the day after the wedding. We complained, and they said they would send us the proper sizes to our home by mail. We received them, and they were still not the right sizes! Sandals is overrated and way overpriced! The only good thing about this resort was the beach. |

My family of four stayed in cottage #4. It was absolutely perfect for us. It was close to the beach, private, and set in beautiful surroundings. We loved the location on the beach, and found it to be the most beautiful beach in either direction. The staff at Nirvana made our whole experience one that we will treasure forever. The gals who cleaned and cooked for us were some of the most wonderful people I have ever met. The security staff - Shine, Moses, and Errol - took extremely good care of us. We felt safe and protected from vendors at all times, and we were able to totally relax on the beach. They became like family to us, and will always be held dearly in our hearts. If we ever return to Negril, we will definitely stay at Nirvana again. |
