I travel a lot, but have made Brezes my destination more than all others combined. I have come here 17 times.
We got married here in 2001. The property went through a major renovation and re-opened in 2007. I found the changes to be wonderful. It was more than a face lift. They added new rooms, suites, and restaurants, and freshened up everything else.
The key success factor for this resort is the staff. You will not find friendlier or more helpful staff anywhere.
I am an avid SCUBA diver. This makes Breezes an exceptional value because SCUBA is included in the price of your stay.
I can't say enough good things about this property. That is why I am returning in two weeks! |

Actually, even though we were disappointed at the sparse accommodations, we were doing fine here. That was until our garden bungalow was robbed! It was all downhill from there.
The police were called in. The manager was very unsympathetic and disinterested in our plight. The security officer implied that we staged the robbery.....can you imagine? There were many nice employees, but the thief gave the hotel a bad reputation. Beware!
I will not let this prevent me from coming back to Jamaica. However, I won't stay here. |

I have been to Club Ambiance 18 times and counting!
This is a lovely little resort with the best service I have ever had in the Caribbean. The staff goes out of their way to make guests happy and feel welcomed.
I highly recommend Club Ambience to anyone on a budget who wants the best their money can buy. You can't beat it! |

My husband and I just got back, and we loved it!
They had such great employees. Tip them for good service, and be treated like kings. We figured that out real quick! They remembered us by name, and were very nice and laid back!
Book a tour for "Cool Runnings", too. It was fun! |

My wife and I were hoping for a memorable 14th anniversary, and decided to make Club Caribbean our place of choice. We loved the "on the beach" cottage concept, and had stayed here before.
When we got here, we waited for a very long time to be shown where we would stay for the weekend. I must say, I was so angry (to put it mild) to see where they expected us to stay. It seemed they converted gift shops into rooms with concrete slabs for the dressing table. I believe the beds were also afixed to the floor without even a bed head. The room was white, and lead into a bathroom without doors.
We complained bitterly, but got the run around. We were given the promise about a new room the following day. We rejected that offer, and they began to tell us that foreigners got preference. That blew our tops, and we demanded a complete refund, even though they wanted to take a percentage because we were on the property.
I am sorry for the "foreigners" who travel thousand of miles without the option of a refund or an option to go elsewhere. We will never go back there.
As I said, we were fortunate, and went to Club Ambiance down the road from them, that was a pleasant surprise. We were treated not like commoners, but like royalty. |

This place was scary. Visited: February 2008 |

The only reason we were here was because we got bumped from the resort we should have stayed in. We were only here for one night, and we left as soon as we could the next morning.
It seemed like everyone staying at the Seacrest that night was someone who had been bumped from our resort, no one was actually supposed to be a Seacrest guest.
This place was an absolute dump. The sliding doors didn't lock, the bathroom was small and filthy, and the beds weren't made (and looked like someone else had slept in them).
Also, the pool was missing about three feet of water, and was closed. We were afraid that something was going to come crawling out of corners. The shower barely worked, too.
All in all, I can't imagine that this place would even be rated as high as a two-star. |

The first year I was here was in 1986. That year they gave a beach jacket and a matching bag to all the guests. I have saved mine all these years.
I have been to this resort 12 times. The last time I was here was in 2005. They also gave a beautiful gift to all the guests.
I have been here several times a few days before a hurricane and/ or after a hurricane. I love this resort.
I know I will never be able to go back, so I will always keep the wonderful memories of the resort and of the wonderful staff throughout the years. Thank you! |

My wife and I had a wonderful time at the Gran Bahia.
The staff was very friendly. We were here in February 2008, and no construction was going on. It was a nice, peaceful stay.
Some of the earlier posters said the front beach was very rocky. That was not the case when we were here. The very left side beach was ideal for snorkeling. Watch out for the locals on the beach over pricing stuff (Johnny), though. Although, we bought a necklace (from (Ziki?) for a better price then the shops.
The food was excellent, espescially the Mikado. Our least favorite was Fishermans. The night shows were pretty good. They even had a show for kids every night.
The room was always done up nice for us each day, and the mini bar was refilled every second day without us asking.
We did go on a few excursions. Dunns Falls was a blast. Luminous Lagoon was surreal, but unfortunately, it was way to short. To top it off, the catamaran got stuck in the mud for 10 - 15 minutes, which ate into our time.
We enjoyed drinking Miami Vices at the wet bar, but the sea was so much warmer than the pool. My wife and I did find that after a few days, our legs got pretty sore walking around the huge resort. I wish they had escalators!
The resort is best suited for couples and families with kids. If you go, make sure you order a Bob Marley (cocktail) from the windowed bar off the foyer. |

There is something to be said about an all-inclusive resort when you talk to people around the pool and so many have been returning numerous times (some even 15 times).
This is my husband's and my first trip - not only to Breezes, but to Jamaica. We had no problem with the staff at Breezes, and service was top-notch. Sandra went out of her way to help us when we needed it.
Also, I loved the fact there were no children. The beach was clean and with an abundance of chairs. There's a reason why water aerobics are held at the infinity/swim-up bar area and if it's that problematic getting a drink (which it's not), there are other bars to go to.
We were just here in January 2008, and found it more than relaxing and fun. Vacations are what you make it, and some people just have to gripe about every little thing! |

Hedonism III is for me. |

My wife and I visited Hedonism III in 2007. We had a great time while at the resort.
Two transportation issues stood out though.
(1) The road between the airport and the resort was in such terrible condition that what was "normally" billed as a half-hour ride, took and hour and a half.
(2) As was the case with most of Jamaica, we were constantly reminded by the resort staff to not go out and away from the resort on our own due to the potential for crime. I like to take long walks each day, and was not able to which was annoying.
Otherwise, we had a grand time. |

For the price, it was very nice. Visited: December 2007 |

We paid $95 a night per person, all inclusive, with a "pay for five, get the sixth night free". We were also given free pick up and return to airport with the price.
We had a deluxe room. It was really very nice. It was large, clean, and comfortable.
The beach area was barely adequate, though. It was small, and not so nice with weeds underfoot. The food was fine - as was the service.
The resort needs some work. However, people were working on it during our stay, so, it's getting done.
We prefer a resort where it's possible to walk to small bars and cafes in the immediate area. This wasn't the case here, as the street outside the resort had nothing within walking distance.
We have no plans to return, but might at a later date. The distance of a one-and-a-half hour drive from Montego Bay was a bit much, and we will look for something closer.

My husband and I stayed at Hedo III in June of 2007. This place was the ultimate in 'Pleasurdice'. Yes, I had to make up a word to describe it.
In this all-inclusive world, if relaxation is your thing, this is the place for you. If non stop partying is your thing, this is definitely the place for you.
The grounds were well maintained, and the staff was second to none. This was one anniversary we both will never forget - and looking forward to repeating! |

The staff and management seem to have no idea what they are doing. I had to nearly fight the manager for a voucher for their offered program.
The food was decent. The electric wouldn't stay on for an entire day, and would be out for up to several hours at a time. There were mosquitos in the rooms (there were seven of us, and we all had the same problems).
The service (when we could get it) was good, but getting it was the problem.
The pools closed too early (one at 5:00 pm, the other at 6:30 pm). There was only one pool that had a swim-up bar. The other had the volleyball net. They did water aerobics in the swim-up bar pool (how stupid, with a perfectly good huge pool right there). Then, they ran us out of the other pool seemingly randomly.
There was a limited beach area.
Also, the front desk staff seemed unmotivated and incompetent. Although we went all-inclusive, everyone expected a tip, and golf was stupidly expensive.
I'll never go back. |

My husband and I came To Breezes March 22-25, 2007. We had a blast, but three nights was way to short. Next year, hopefully we can go for a week.
The entertainment was incredible - with the silly bar games, the rockin' shows, and the awesome drinks.
The rooms were okay, but you are not here to be in your toom. The food and the service were good.
The various watersport activities were awesome. We took the glass bottom boat ride. It was cool. We would have done more, but our time was limited.
Jamaican people are awesome. They make you feel like Jamacia is your home.
Go have fun! God willing, we will be back next March. |

Club Ambiance is a small resort that provides a great time. Visited: March 2006 |

My wife and I stayed at Club Ambience last year, and we were very pleased with many aspects of the resort.
It was small by today's standards, with 90 or so rooms, so the level of "connection" with the staff was higher.
Upon arrival, we'd barely wheeled our luggage into the lobby before we were escorted to the bar and grill for a drink and a quick bite to eat. Check-in took a few minutes, as always, but everything happens on "island time" here.
Soon we were taken to our room, and were treated to a beautiful ocean view from the balcony. The rooms were secure, clean and tidy, but as is often the case, in need of updating and cosmetic attention.
One of the outstanding features of Club Ambience was the food. We're not really fussy eaters, but enjoy fine cuisine when we get it. The food (and it was plentiful and varied) was fantastic. I tried almost everything that was offered, and found nothing that I didn't like. The choices were mind-boggling, and I'm sure I gained a few pounds while I was here. The dessert table was to die for!
The staff was very attentive and eager to ensure a good time for all. The nightly entertainment was better than some other places we've been, and not as good as others. A good solid better-than-average.
We spent most of our days on the beach. It was not terribly big, and the swimming wasn't the best. However, most of the crowd was at the pool, so we could usually find a beach chair and a float.
In essence, I'd advise anyone looking for a nice relaxing vacation to check out Club Ambience. For half the price of many of the big name resorts, it's a no-brainer. As a matter of fact, we're going back next week! |

This was a perfect family vacation! Visited: December 2006 |

This is the perfect vacation spot for families with small children. With the nanny service that is included in your package, a single parent couldn't ask for anything more. My three children - ages 2,5 and 7 - had a blast. I was a bit hesitant about leaving my kids with a stranger, but after the first two hours, they literally fell in love with her and never wanted her to leave.
The food here is excellent, apart from the fact that two of their speciality restaurants (Italian and Jamaican) are both adults only. My kids had their own little mini-buffet that was set-up every night in the main dining room. The variety was good. The Jamaican Restaurant was excellent! I had never eaten Jamaican food before, and once I tasted the steamed fish - there was no turning back.
I had gotten a two-bedroom suite which was spacious enough for my children and me. The rooms were kind of old fashioned, but were very clean and had a Jamaican feel with the red wood furniture.
I am definitely looking forward to returning here very soon. My children are already missing the nanny, and the kiddies' coordinators who made my work so much easier! Thumbs up for FDR! |

This was our 2nd stay at Hedo III and it was not as crazy this year. Last year we hit the end of a fetish convention so check the Hedo calender before you book. The food wasn't as good this time either. We still loved the jerked food at the Reggae Cafe, but the Pastafari was awful. The piano bar was a blast. I will never hear some songs the same again. Do not go to this resort if nudity bothers you. The nude do come over to the prude side. We were at the clothing optional pool bar one afternoon and watched a guy taking nude pics of his group in several sexual situations. So go here with an open mind or go somewhere else. |

Rule Number 1: Don't go to this place if naked people offend you. There is a nude and a prude side, but the nude come to the prude side. The prude are not allowed to go to the nude side.
Rule Number 2: Don't talk about what you saw the night before unless they do. Some don't remember, some pretend. It's all good.
The food is plentiful. We liked the Scotch Bonnet for the jerked pork and chicken. The omelets at the buffet in the morning were awesome.
Our room overlooked the "clothing optional pool". We had plenty to look at - and the ocean was beautiful, too. |

We enjoyed our three-night stay at Club Ambiance. The beach was small, but beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The down sides: the food wasn't the greatest (and only available at certain times); and getting beach towels and snorkeling gear was a bit of a hassle.
I still would recommend the resort for those who want a laid back and affordable place to hang. |
