5.0 stars Our second time was even better than the first. Visited: August 2002

We found Hurricane Cove in June, 2001. We had been at the Four Seasons for five days on a convention. After everyone else left, we decided to head out on our own, trying to find a quiet paradise to enjoy.

We had booked Williwah at Hurricane Cove Bunglows, sight unseen, a bit skeptical as to what we might find. When our hostess, Kathryn Wyatt, brought us up to our own private bungalow, complete with a private pool, full kitchen and incredible view across the straits, we knew we had found what we were looking for.

There was no air conditioning....just huge open windows with the steady ocean breeze blowing through all night. Pelicans floated by our windows scanning for dinner in the ocean below, while smaller birds often flew in one window and out another. There was no noise except for the sounds of the ocean at night.

Biddy, a local cab driver, took us to Charlestown the next day and waited patiently while we stocked up on food and other essentials. Then we just "jelled" for four days.

We knew we had found a special place. Two years later, August, 2002, to celebrate my wife's birthday, I threw a surprise party. At the end of the night, I gave her my present - tickets for Nevis, leaving in the morning. It took her twenty minutes to get ready.

This time we stayed at Pelican, a two-bedroom bunglow just as wonderful as Williwah. We met another couple there who had come down for a quiet wedding...theirs. They needed someone to stand up for them, so Kathryn and I did the honors at the incredible three-bedroom villa, Seastone.

Kathryn was an incredible hostess. She arranged for Biddy to pick us up at the airport and had wine and cheese ready for us at the bungalow.

We are already booked for our return trip this fall. We are fortunate to have experienced some truly wonderful vacations at many well-known five-star resorts. All were great, but Hurricane Cove is the place we keep going back to.

As we have told friends, there's little or no night life and not much to do except revel in one of the most secluded and beautiful environments one could imagine. We have found our perfect spot.

5.0 stars Wow! This was the best vacation ever! Visited: August 2002

This was an amazingly fabulous place! We spent 10 days in the Williwah. We spent a lot of time lounging in our private pool or watching the stunning sunsets from our covered porch. The cool breezes at night made it very comfortable.

The snorkeling and beaches were fabulous. The staff was extraordinary! Rates were extra reasonable! Although we would like to keep this place a secret, this was truly a vacation experience not to be missed.

5.0 stars The greatest place to stay. Visited: July 2002

We stayed at Hurricane Cove last July for one week. We splurged and got a unit with a private pool.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The villa was large, comfortable and well equipped. We could hardly bring ourselves to leave and see the island.

This was an ideal place for rest and relaxation. Entertainment was provided by the sea, the sun, the stars and the chi chi birds who shared our meals.

We hope to return someday to this slice of paradise.

5.0 stars How do you spell perfection...Hurricane Cove! Visited: July 2002

We were fortunate to spend 12 days in the Williwah at Hurricane Cove Bungalows. Of all our Caribbean travels, this island and property surpassed all.

The bungalows caught the constant breeze as we relaxed on our covered porch, deck, or by our own pool. The kitchen had every convenience we needed. Our sun porch had an amazing sea view of St. Kitts and was open to the fresh air!

The friendly and helpful staff at HCB was always quietly in the background respecting our need for relaxation and privacy on this amazing island.

If you want a vacation filled with the most friendly people ever, the best fresh seafood, incredible weather, a relaxing, slow pace, head for Hurricane Cove on Nevis...you may just find us here on our return visit!

5.0 stars It was the most relaxing and breathtaking place ever! Visited: July 2002

I have been to the Caribbean a dozen times over the last 10 years and I have finally found my heaven on earth!

It was everything a person needed for a perfect vacation - a clean, comfortable bungalow; friendly and knowledgeable management and staff; a pool; beautiful views no matter which way you turned. We also enjoyed the clear, blue water, the beach and peace and quiet!

There was no luxury or party, it was the perfect place to relax and reconnect with whomever you go with!

5.0 stars A wonderful place! Visited: May 2001

My wife and I stayed at Hurricane Cove Bungalows for a week. It kind of reminded us of a cottage we stayed in during our youth at the lake, even though it looked out over the St. Kitts straights. What a view it was too!

We can't say enough about the relaxing time we had. The weather, the view, the breeze, the privacy all combined to make the best vacation we have ever had with just the two of us.

We stayed in Seabiscuit, perched on the edge of Hurricane Cove Hill, and watched the pelicans dive for dinner. The management is so nice also, that we immediately knew we would go back next year, and already made reservations.

If you want a relaxing, romantic (wait until you watch those sunsets from your private balcony) and a quiet vacation (no nightlife requirements), this is your place. I'm so glad that I found Nevis.

5.0 stars Very few places like this one left. Visited: July 1999

We had a fantastic time at Hurricane Cove, which sits on top of a cliff overlooking the sister island of St. Kitts; a great view! What a wonderful place to retire from the world and chill for a few days. Things are slow... so what? We went to Nevis to relax, enjoy nature and get away from everything.

The beach was just a few steps away. The locals from Ouali Beach next door can help you arrange all sorts of activities suitable for Nevis like fishing, scuba diving, hiking; they can even help you get lobster and fresh fish daily.

You can also go around the island visiting the remarkably beautiful old plantations that have been restored and transformed into really cozy inns. Go there in time for tea, to have lunch or just for glass of wine.

If you truly like getting in touch with nature and relaxing you are in for a treat. If you like big cruise ships, resort living, need every detail perfect or have to do things on a schedule...this place is not for you.

4.0 stars A remarkable bargain for a truly idyllic getaway. Visited: December 1969

The incomparable view over the strait to St. Kitts holds one content at HCB, with no need to leave (other than to say one has seen Nevis). The attractive units invite one to feel the Caribbean and become refreshed.

For those seeking beauty and restfulness, enjoying your own kitchen, taking maybe one meal a day in exploring the island. For the bliss of a honeymoon, even if not on one. For the youthful or seasonsed traveler, still in love with life, not needing the Hamptons.

The rates are incredible; the peace and quiet restorative. Your own pool if you wish. No bar. No restaurant helps Nevis to become your own. The baobab tree is an appropriate hallmark.
