Lovely B&B - things you should know Visited: March 2002 Posted by catherin This is a nice little B&B with a beautiful lawn, & it does serve wonderful breakfasts that you eat with the owner, Sybil Siegfried. But it was not what we had expected, so I wanted to pass along a few features not mentioned in the descriptions we saw before we went. The airport noise is not that bad, considering, but the place is RIGHT NEXT to the airport. The landing strip parallels the street the B&B is on, & it's only a couple dozen yards away. Somehow I'd pictured the beach cottage as being a little ways off, isolated from the main house, but it's not. It's right next to the "reef cottage." The beach cottage does not have a "bathroom" to speak of, just a toilet & sink in the hallway (i.e. there's no door). The outdoor shower is fun because you can look around at the flowers etc., but it overlooks the main lawn & only covers you from calf to chest (could be a little awkward at times, since there's no other shower). The beach is right there, but in one direction there was wire fencing strewn around, & in the other direction there were cans & broken bottles, & it was quite rocky -- so bring your beach shoes if you're planning to go in the water. 8 users found this review helpful. 0 found this review unhelpful.
