Question
Q: My friend and I want to move to Puerto Rico in September 2009 with the intention of staying there for 2 to 3 years. We are both graduating with degrees in Spanish and want to become fluent in the language, which is why we are moving to PR. We will not have transportation there and wanted to get more info about how the train and bus systems are as of this year (like its reliability & and the different routes). Also, we hear the job market isn't too hot there. I have a BS in Accounting, and my friend has a degree in Biology (she wants to go into Dental Hygiene), so I'm wondering if we would really have a hard time finding a job, especially since we are not bilingual yet. Lastly, We would love to explore all parts of San Juan and its surrounding areas, but I am wondering if there are areas that might be high in crime? Your help with this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Or is it safe to go there and have a good time. I wanna be able to go somewhere and not have to worry about theft and crime. Can you give me a dos and donts to protect ourselves?

Q: I just booked a trip to stay for 6 nights at El San Juan Hotel & Casino in July of 2008 and I've been reading horrible reviews about it. It seems like there are bed bug issues and complaints about the hotel being very dirty with very poor customer service. It is supposed to be a 4 and a half stars hotel but is are all these reviews true and should I expect bed bugs on my bed and customer service will be no help? The travel agent says that it had just been renovated so there should be no problem but these reviews were posted this year. I have a feeling that my travel agent could careless and just wants to make commission. Can someone please let me know? Or else I will just change my hotel.
