It was excellent. Visited: September 2008 Posted by lborst The InterContinental is excellent. We were given the royal treatment, as it was our special 25th Silver wedding anniversary. Our Junior Suite was excellent, and the room service was fantastic. We recommend this hotel. Everyone here was professional and helpful, and went out of their way to make us comfortable. Visited: March 2008 Posted by mbrad9424 Our stay at the InterContinental Resort in San Juan, PR, was wonderful. The grounds were beautiful - as well as the pool area. It is ideal for a quick or lenghtly vacation, where you can arrive fresh from an easy commute. Also, the beach, pool, whirlpool and spa are great. Visited: June 2004 Posted by td1 I have never experienced better service anywhere. The people at The Intercontinental were all kind, courteous, and fast to help. Everything worked (speaking of work, the Business Center rocked)and, while the room rates weren't cheap, the gift shop and restaurants were all reasonable. Although the women on concierge were no help with booking a restaurant and offering general information, the front desk people were great. Breakfast was delicious, although expensive, so do try and get it included in your room price. Also, ordering from the waitresses by the pool instead going to the outdoor bar - do expect to pay a premium of $2-3 per drink, which does add up. Did you find this helpful? good but not great Visited: August 2003 Posted by soniaseth we had a good time at this hotel - although it wasnt as great as we expected it to be - rooms were very average, they didnt have a resort feel to them at all, infact we could have been in a hotel in NJ - if it wasnt for the view. The pool staff were very helpful although be prepared to pay alot of extra money for getting your drinks from them - alot cheaper at the bar - as we realized too late. The conceirge lady was awful - she advised us to visit the old town when it was closed - it had absolutley no life at all- and nowhere to eat breakfast and bar food was good - beach was nice and pool was decent - a little run down. Visited: July 2003 Posted by nmuniz This hotel came highly recommended by friends and family - I was not disappointed. The hotel staff is superb and accommodating. The spa personnel are a friendly bunch - enjoy the whirpool. The pool area is magnificently kept and the waterfall at the pool is a lovely addition. Martinis Lounge has a wonderful venue Friday nights, as does the casino on weekends. Visited: July 2003 Posted by stanlindell I just returned from a wonderful vacation, and the hotel was more than what I expected. I had a room with an ocean view, and the service was first class. I had dinner at all of the great restaurants at the hotel. The poolside staff was also great. A big "thank you" goes out to Nicole. She was polite and very helpful in telling me about the hotel, and other places to visit in Puerto Rico. When you visit, take the city bus to Old San Juan. Visited: June 2003 Posted by rj_ldrankin The Inter-continental San Juan was in a great location. We had a city view and got to see some of the daily runs of the city life from our room. Across the street was a plaza with a supermarket, shops, restaurants and souvenirs (if you did not care to eat at the wonderful restaurants on site). Beach access at night was limited though because the gates were closed. The housekeeping department should be commended. They honored our requests promptly. Do remember that check-in is at 3:00 pm, and it was nice to have the luggage held for us until then (even though we were assigned a room earlier). Visited: May 2003 Posted by tcdreject This hotel was beautiful. It looked like a big house. The rooms were not too big, but they had a porch which was nice. The pool was big and wonderful. Once we were inside, everybody was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and had a good atmosphere about them. I don't believe anywhere else could have given me a better week-long stay. Also, the beds were exceptional! Visited: August 2002 Posted by taniacolon Upon arrival, we were immediately impressed by the cleanliness and the handsome landscaping of this beautiful hotel. At the check in counter we were warmly greeted by friendly staff and we were treated with respect. We were promptly taken care of and noticed all their employees were very professional and did a good job at making sure our stay was pleasant. At one point we had lost our key to get back in our room (and had left the spare in the room), but the receptionist was pleasant, and (with a smile) handed us another key without any hassle. Our room was very clean, the bathtub was spotless, the service was prompt, and I cannot stress how beautiful our ocean view was. Our pictures were all beautiful! The pool was clean, and my husband and I were impressed at how attentive the pool guards were - especially with the children. They were there to do their job and it showed. They were not rude, just firm, and they were also kind. There are many, many restaurants nearby, and a 24-hour Walgreens only a block away! Next door to our hotel, their was a great casino in the Wyndham Hotel and Casino where the drinks were reasonably priced. If I had to say a negative thing about The Inter-Continental San Juan, it would be that they were a bit expensive per night (but worth every penny). And unfortunately, they only offered valet parking. Conveniently enough, right across the street, you could park for only a few dollars a day and come and go as you please. Visited: August 2002 Posted by lpc213 We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were upgraded to an oceanview room with a stunning view of Isla Verde Beach. Throughout our visit, the hotel staff was polite, responsive and helpful. The staff was really helpful regarding excursions. We went on a wonderful snorkeling expedition off the coast of Fajardo - about an hour east of the hotel. I highly recommend this along with a day trip to the El Yunque rainforest. The best way to experience El Yunque is to rent a compact car from Dollar ($40 - across the street) and take route 187 along the coastline. The local beaches along the way are magnificent to see. The Market restaurant served a good (although pricy $16.50) buffet breakfast. The Japanese restaurant was okay - very similar to a Benihana. The oceanfront restaurant was below average - the salad and pizza were not good. The casino was fine here, but if you want a world class casino, just walk next door to the Wyndham El San Juan Resort. Visited: June 2002 Posted by tamodel I just got back from a glorious vacacation in Puerto Rico. I was relaxed and I was pampered in the Inter-Continental Hotel. It was absolutely amazing! The employees were so polite, friendly and very courteous. We did not once touch a door to come or go. The hotel grounds were maintained beautifully and the pool was always blue, clean and refreshing! The security here was also unbelievable! We constantly felt safe. We even arrived before check-in time and they still checked us in so we could start our day. They even accommodated us with an ocean view room because our original room was not cleaned yet. The staff was made up of very professional people and they were always looking to help you out in some way. I recommend this hotel highly. It is an enjoyable place to stay with a wonderful pool area! Visited: January 2002 Posted by okbrouwer Although our first night was spent in a room with a malfunctioning HVAC unit, we were moved the next day into a beautiful room with a great view. The staff was polite and efficient, security was amazine, and the pool area was spectacular! The staff was excellent, courteous, friendly and accommodating. The oceanview room was spacious, clean and complete, with many amenities. The cleaning service did a sparkling job. Overall, my stay was awesome! As a travel agent I will 100% recommend it to my clients! We will return soon! Visited: August 2001 Posted by ruizjr I have just returned from my 4th stay at this hotel and as always, I am very satisfied. The quality and service are the greatest on the Island. We have stayed at most of the other hotels and I truly find this one the best. It's on the beach the pool is always clean and clear and the food and room service are great. I just love it. I just became a member of their Six Continents Club and on that very same day I received an upgrade from a city view to a great ocean view. I was sorry to leave again. I Love Puerto Rico Visited: June 2001 Posted by xxitaliandollxx My friends and I spent seven days here and it was one of the best vacations that we have ever taken. The hotel was beautiful and the staff was very polite and always took care of us. The outside was incredible. It was very relaxing and the view from my room was incredible.
